Halo from Indonesia Thankyou for very informative video Your english is easy to understand Im very thankfull about your share, to always water orchid before fertilize. I do a aggresive fertilize like you did. But before, i just spray the fertilize direct to the roots. And after that, i got a burn roots. I thought, my climate is very hot. So i need to water orchid more frequent (like 2 times a day). But still, new growth root get burn. Now, i know the reason. I never water them before fertilizing. Thankyou, stay save and healty during this pandemic.

For dendros, we use clay pots with holes in order for the plant to have enough ventilation of the roots, Orchids are ephipyte plants, some of our dendros we grow it on the driftwoods, in order for them to grow much easier
Hi Che. There are a few differing opinions about watering before feeding. I have listened to most. Myself, I tend to think that if the roots are already wet, they won’t take up the fertiliser as they are ‘full’. As far as strength of feed, they will only take what they need and the rest is wasted. As I said, many different opinions. Your plants are looking great so what you do is working.
Hi Lyn!😀 I also thought of that, but with the fertilizer that I use “Aggressive Feeding”, it is applied in the leaves. I learned it from Orchid Nursery Growers here, I tried it and I think my orchids love it.😊❤️ thank you for watching and for giving your thoughts, I learned a lot from you, I mentioned you in my other video about Cattleya, I love your Cattleyas and I hope mine will also flower like your orchids 😊

Hi!🤗 my orchids in pots without side holes or slits are fine,we have hot weather but there are also months which rains almost everyday so i use mostly hydroton and charcoal as medium. I want to use pots with side holes/slits but you are right, they can be expensive or hard to find.
Generally bare root or mounted orchids should be watered everyday sometimes 2x a day? And orchids in plastic pots with spagnum moss and charcoal like maybe every other day?
Yes , water from the faucet is chlorinated and its high in acidity.. my mother use rain water to water our ochids both vandas, dendros , cattleyas and omcidium.. We water it early morning , we dont water late afternoon due to pest infestation of the plant.. And yes , it is best to water first before you apply fertilizer on the orchids.

Nice video!Do you know how to promote root growth in vanda? My vanda was not going great without medium, it looked dehydrated, so i decided to pot them in bark medium. Its almost a mont since i repotted in bark medium, i still can not see root development. Any clue??

M K vitamin b1 or root hormone for orchids and plants, available at agri store or online sellers, are you in the philippines? I use it 1tbsp for every one gallon of water but I don’t use it all the time, you can try 3 applications first and observe
M K I see, try to ask plants or orchids sellers or nurseries there if they have vitamin b1 or root hormone. You can also check stores that sell agricultural products 😊
New Subscriber here. I live in Canada and I am new in the orchid world. I rescue orchids or buy orchids that have no flowers anymore. They are very cheap compare to the ones with blooms. Most of my orchids are phalaenopsis and my mediums are bark and sphagnum moss. I have 2 mini dendrobiums and I don't know what to do with them. Looks like the long stems or canes are dry. Should I cut them and throw away?
Hi!😀 Good for you, you must be very good in rescuing orchids.How dry are your dendrobiums? Have you check the roots and repot them? It’s hard to say coz i dont see them but dendrobiums grow keikis on old canes.😊

When I received them last March, almost dried blooms were still attached, now they are just canes with white flimsy like onion around the nodes, no keikis. There is one very skinny cane that has keiki with 2 roots. I wish I can send you a picture.

I just realized na ang gasto ko pala sa tubig😂 I water them 2x a day kapag mainit thru hose. So much water wasted
Mas madali din kasi sa hose, kakapagod din mag pump pero tipid sa water😀
