Awesome!! Loving your channel!!
Thanks I appreciate support and kind words
I've gained more information from your 8 min video than from 3 other 10+ min videos. Great job!
What humidity are you aiming for?
Thank you for the kind words! I try to put good useful info into my videos. I aim for 70-80% humidity sometimes higher if I'm trying to get some frogs to breed but over time I have found that the frogs really benefit from the tank having adequate ventilation and drying out a bit between misting.
@@TCSDartFrogs wdym by drying out? like completely dry?
Liked, subscribed, commented. Good vids.
What kind of lighting do they need
Any suggestions for climbing species and not too loud because I am going to be sleeping in the same room :) thanks
Thanks for the video very informative, can you pls tell me what temperature range they tolerate? Thanks
65-80 Fahrenheit
hi. which pools are they? is it completely closed ? without ventilation?
Can you help me out I’m a bit confused, I want to keep the humidity but I feel like if I put ventilation in then all the humidity would disappear?
What are those round screens you are using for your ventilation holes called and where can I find them? Thanks
The round black plastic pieces are snap bushings and they just have stainless steel mesh glued inside, I bought them years ago on Ebay/Amazon and don't have a link for them but if you do a search for them they shouldn't be too hard to find.
Hi Travis, Which of the Dart Frog species have the loudest croak? Which of them sound the best, like a large toad for instance?
Do you use Ikea racks? Greetings from Holland.
Greetings! I have never tried Ikea racks, I use bakers racks that are NFS certified, which basically means they have tested the brand to make sure that they can hold a certain amount of weight, NFS certified are supposed to be safer than some of the other options on the market.
Do they require UVB?
and how often do you feed them
UVB is not required although is beneficial in many species of amphibian. I feed my adults every other day to every three days.
I do have a Q: If I elect to go with this kind of dart frog, will one of, say, a solid blue, recognise one of the other types with the yellow black AND blue as the same kind of frog and want to get agressive with it? Are they just aggressive with everything that isn't their mate or just the same kind of male frog and how same does a same kind one have to be to set them off?
... erm, did that make sense?
They should be kept one species and locale per tank and best kept in mated pairs although small groups can be kept in larger tanks. So if you have an Azureus for example you should only keep it with other Azureus and preferably a male/female pair. Aggression can occur with all species regardless of color/locale.
Is there a reason why you don’t clean the algae of the side panels of your tanks?
The reason for breeders not to clean tanks is because the frogs like the algae covering the glass. Think of it as a curtain for frogs!
Carrot Fish thanks for the reply. 🙂
Is it ok to mix the different verieties of dart frogs? and would they interbreed ?
It is frowned upon.
Thanks for the vid! Do they hide when they are juveniles? I have three juveniles and they do a fair bit of hiding... ;)
Yes tinctorius sometimes hide as juveniles, some locales more than others but most tinctorius will come right out of hiding when they are fed.
Mine do exactly that. Thanks for that
how do you keep your substrate from getting moldy?
I'm not sure how he does it, but you can use springtails and isopods, they'll clean up your cage for you
Can't you prevent bacteria on the frogs by bathing them once in awhile? They'll probably smell better too. 🐸😆
Did u just say its ok to have a pair of tincs in a 10gallon tank
Yes I've housed many adult pairs of tins in 10 gallon aquariums with no issues, I do recommend keeping them in larger terrariums if you have the space to do so.
why u use aquarium with no second ventilation as a terrarium?sorry this is a aquarium.!!
