    I’ve been doing lots of research on frogs. I plan on getting 2 Dendrobates Tinctorius Azureus’s. This is all very new for me and I’m super impatient but want to make sure I’m getting everything I need. Thanks for the vid!! I LOVE your waterfall and plan on doing a replica of your terrarium

      Hahah that’s what’s up! I remember when I first started I had a million questions, feel free to pop back over here and ask me anything! Id love to help. I would take my time to research (it’s half the fun!)
      Make sure you know exactly what you want. My biggest piece of advice is to consider how big the plants In your set up will grow and plan accordingly! I’ve been trimming my first paludarium a lot lately haha

      @@alternateaquatics thank you so much. What plants do you recommend me purchase for this frog?

    • @alternateaquatics
      @alternateaquatics  4 месяца назад +1

      You should look into a moss wall for the back drop! I personally used the wet moss mix from frogdaddy.com
      Then it’s all dependent on how big your enclosure is! There’s tons of frog safe species to look into on joshsfrogs as well as frog daddy.com that’s where I started

    Could Keep a green anole with a pair of mourning gecko and 4 dart frogs, and a red eye tree frogs in tank together, if so what size tank. And what species of dart frogs. Maybe i could add a vampire to the mix

    • @alternateaquatics
      @alternateaquatics  Месяц назад

      Hey thanks for the comment! I personally would not recommend mixing species. You could maybe get away with introducing mourning geckos with vampire crabs but it would need to be a pretty big set up and definitely one that is fully grown out so there’s a lot of cover. Definitely do not mix dart frogs with any other species as their care requirements are very specific to them. Also their skin I’m an absorb toxins and the waste from other animals could carry bacteria that could kill then

    Hey brother great video thanks for all the info and links in the description. One question: what plants would you recommend most for tinc azureus or what has done best with your lighting set up? Would love to replicate something similar to you. Thank you!

    • @alternateaquatics
      @alternateaquatics  3 месяца назад +1

      @@carsonrudy1683 I would definitely start with the wet moss mix from frogdaddy.com you get a bunch of random tropical mosses and seeds of micro ferns perfect for the them! So far every single plant I bought from there has thrived in my vivarium…almost too well 😅
      But seriously I would say start with the wet moss mix and then browse through the plant sections of frog daddy by species of animal and you can’t miss.
      Also I really appreciate your comment!

    Great info, I'm interested in getting 2 or 3 golden dart frogs. I've read that since they are bigger and heavier than most dart frogs they prefer to have more horizontal space rather than vertical space. Can you recomend some terrarium tanks that would work?

    • @alternateaquatics
      @alternateaquatics  5 месяцев назад

      It all depends on which species you get to be honest. My ranitomeya Fantastica love the vertical space. For them I got the Carolina customs 36”x18”x38”
      For my tincs I have a smaller zoomed 24x18x18
