All you go to do is mix 2 parts sphagnum moss to 1 part javas moss or any moss and then blend em together. Put them in a seal tub with bright light and wait three months! :)
@@mightymorphingreptiles wow that’s it ? Nothing else . That’s so simple. I’ve watched so many videos that they add milk or yogurt also . Ok good to know . I’ll try this .
Good stuff my dude. It really takes an artist to make these things look so beautiful. I will never get to this level, but do hope that I can gain enough info to make the animals happy.
Thanks for sharing! Looks beautiful. I see that you wrapped the roots of many plants (p verrucosum and medoces petola) and wedged them against the drylok and wood. Would they attach themselves even to the drylok background?
I've had moss definetly stick to drylok. I dont think i mentioned in the video but I used garden wire to pin the plants to such as verucossum to the walls. That plant is an aeroid and it will develop its roots and go straight down as it grows. The mecatos I've had root to woods in other terrariums. I always wrap plants roots in wet sphagnum moss if they're not directly planted into soil.
@@mightymorphingreptiles Nice awesome! thanks for sharing, I am working on a new build and I do want to do drylok background. But I am not sure if plants will root on that material. So your feedback def helps. thank you again! enjoying the videos
@@joeyp734 you’re welcome man and good luck on your build. But please don’t rely on plant rooting to the drylok whatsoever. You could always use foam potted plants into the back ground if you desire
How long does one have to wait for Drylok to cure, before putting in plants or animals? I can't seem to get a straight answer, and I've heard it can burn your plants, if you plant them right away. I have 5 of the same type of frog, but I'm scared to put the little buggars in, as I just finished the last layer of Drylok a couple of days ago. And I can still smell the fumes, though not as strongly as before.
Great video! I just spent ages binge watching half of your channel to get some inspiration and hardscape build ideas for my next Vampire Crab build! Cheers for all the good advice tips and guides! Subbed for future content :)
Dude I actually have debated a vampire crab before those are super dope! Thank you for watching my content and I’m sorry you have to listen to me for virtually 30 videos straight😂
@@mightymorphingreptiles Ha ha all good! I learnt a lot about hardscaping backgrounds. As this will be my first major build. You should certainly give Vampire Crabs a go some time! They are strange little critters and currently my specialty! There are a ton of different types as well! Though they don't mix well (they hate eachother!)
I used floral wire to pin them in and the roots of the plants were covered in moist sphagnum moss. I got my plants at nurseries, propagated them myself and botanicals at reptile expos
I’ve got the same light but for some reason mine puts out a lot of green light rather than mostly the bright LED. Can’t figure it out with directions. Any thoughts?
So I did the hardscape like you did and used the dry lock and concrete die but what I'm noticing is some of the dry foam is peeling from the glass and dry lock seems to be opening up cuts and slits within the foam did you notice any odd variables when doing your terrariums with spray foam and dry lock??
For the foam peeling I’ve had that happen before. You can silicone to back edges like you’re tracing around it to prevent it from happening on future builde
Nice video. Looking at a build for some Dart frogs in about a month or two. Gives me some ideas as to my build. Won't turn out as good as this. One question where did you get your plants? Thank you
I’m no master just a corny kid on the internet. I don’t use neither for dart frogs. I use my nose and visual of humidity on the glass, and just keep ‘em in room temp low 70’s
instead of that foil on the side just paint the ugly parts black (not the whole side), so these parts do not suck but you are still able to see through :) Great job anyway ^^
No I don’t use uvb on my dart frogs. They don’t need it to survive but some as a part time can be beneficial. Just have to be careful on how you ustilize it

Thank man appreciate the kinda words! It just takes a lot of builds, patience, and animals to get to that point!😅🐸
venturing into the word of dart frog keeping. thanks for the video bro, very helpful
Cool and easy to do at home!! Thank you for explaining your process
Can't wait to see an update!
That is an amazing piece of wood. Nice find
I think so too!

Gorgeous enclosure! I loved the build and seeing it all come together! You've gained a new sub!
Thanks for the sub!
Came out great!
Thank you!😌
Those are cute that when I’m older I’ll keep those poison dart frogs
I've tried hygger led light might try this led light next
I used to use hygger as it has cool features but I prefer nicrew now
yo where did you find this amazing ghost wood
reptile expos
oh ur lucky, there is no ghost wood in EU
The end gave me Sylvester the cat vibes ❤️ memory lane…
Bonito terrario, como siempre. Saludos 🤚
Gracias amigo!
do you still feed the frogs or do they live off the springstails in the tank?
When you make your moss slurry, does that enhance how it grows/expands, or is it just to make it stick better to your hardscape?
makes it stick better to the hardscape and usualyl grows in nicer!

How much do you think you spent total? Including the enclosure?
Umm probably $300 I can’t remember it’s been quite awhile now
Do you have to dig in the substrate to plant 🌱 or do you just place them
Dig then
@@mightymorphingreptiles how about the ones you place on the background or on branches how does that work/ grow

My lemon button fern be having burnt ends of some leaf can it be the lighting I'm using I decided to dim it down a bit
Just wondering if you ripped that lemon pepper fern outta there, or rather how long it took you to rip it out lol
can i ask u how d'u remove the water from the drainage layer?
Some people siphon it out with a tube. Me I just don’t over water
Can you use plastic tubs tho?
You can but that no fun though as you hardly see them
Since you are the dart frog master in my opinion. What thermometer and hygrometer do you recommend?thanks!

Does the acrylic paint ever run or dissolve? It usually isn't totally waterproof, I don't think.
Hasn't worn off for me yet!

34 inch

So you don't need uv for dart frogs?
No uvb
How long did it take for the spray foam to cure enough before painting?
24 hours
im thinking of buying this led light, quick question, do you have to use another uvb light since this nicrew dont provide uvb?

Yes it would
