Of the initial 48 survivors from the day after the crash, three have died: the Marshal, the woman who drowned, and now Scott. There was also the guy who got sucked into the turbine immediately after the crash, but I don't think he counts towards the 48 because they only did a headcount after things had calmed down.
Clarification: While it true that the name “Ethan Rom” may be an anagram of “other man”, this is more about the way the show creators came up with his name (behind the scenes) -but that doesn’t mean that this is not his real character’s name. Just like “John Locke” comes from a known philosopher -it is still the character’s real name. So you can still asume that “Ethan” was his real first name. The “Rom” part… That’s a different story, for another time..!
IMDB used to have message boards, which were quite active for Lost. When Jack fought Ethan somebody commented "that wasn't regular fighting". And so this not-important information take space in my brain's finite memory.
A lot of your theories are headed in the right direction. The current count of survivors is 45 following the death of Scott. I like this island story way better than the flashback. I think this is the first or second time a flashback is used not to flesh out the central character’s backstory but to tie only into the island theme. But apparently Damon Lindelof says this is his least favorite episode of all six seasons, which I find extremely fascinating.
Omg two in one week!!! We have been blessed.🥰 Question - do you think you might do a season recap at the end of S1? I think it would be so fun! You could go over the mysteries you've learned of, theories you have, favorite/least favorite episodes, favorite/least favorite characters, etc! I would love to see something like that. 😊
It's crazy how if Charlie had just admitted being in withdrawal, she probably would have taken care of him, and paid for rehab or something. She obviously moves super fast like you said, so it's just sad that he chose to make that other guy happy. Probably out of fear. Same reason he even started heroin, fear of losing his brother.
Yes. Sometimes she is way off, but other times she is right on. She sometimes surprises me. I think Carmen has more foresight than I ever had when I first watched the series.
To be fair Charlie was against Claire being bait. so he didn't have a choice especially when Claire said she was going to do it so he followed the group
Hope Mom is OK, but two episodes a week really is the way to go. Otherwise, it is a long series to watch. Meanwhile, Charlie was absolutely right. First, Ethan was NEVER going to talk. And then there was the problem of what to do with him after questioning either way. There is no jail, no place to lock him up. And you can't let him go. He would have always been a threat.
lol, sometimes, your theories are...weird. But hey, they're yours so, just go with it. I think the reason Jin asked about the baby goes back to him offering Clair something to eat on the beach, and she accepts, then feels the baby move and grabbed his hand and placed it on her belly to feel the baby. That might seem like not much, but in a traumatic situation, where they've experienced death and destruction, I think it's possible for Jin, at that time, to feel a real connection for that child. It was something really good, in the middle of despair. So it seems natural for him to voice concern over the baby, at least to me it does.
There are still many important characters who have not appeared. Including main characters. ................................. However, some of the characters who are currently the main characters will be gone...
And...you get an extra Lost this week to make up for no Lost last week 😁
Blessed 👏 👏 👏 👏
YAY!!!! What a lovely surprise
Of course, Scott brought it on himself going around wearing a red shirt.
Hahaha 😂
That’s a good one!
Worried for Carmen and her redshirt now lol

I think its OK to say some of your theories are correct.
Yes.

If you are not patient, you have chosen a bad series for yourself😅, but it will be worth waiting for many answers, some later and others sooner
ginger cat reaction to Ethan
