yes he is from person of interest. and there are a lot of characters who were in lost that also were in person of interest. mainly because of JJ Abrams is the creator of both of these shows and he frequently recasts actors in his productions
The first time I saw this I thought he was lying because Henry Gale is the name of Dorothy’s uncle in the Wizard of Oz, and the balloon reference made me double down on that belief.
I remember this like it was yesterday, I think I watched this in 2006 lol ... I remember trying to figure out if he is lying or not, they did such a fantastic job keeping you guessing ...
Can't say much about the actor Michael Emerson. Only that Lost was earlier. Before this I only knew him as one of the villains in the film "Saw". And now, he's Leland Townsend from the show "Evil" which has just started airing its final (4th) season. It's an interesting show. Would recommend.
On the count down timer, 4 out of the 5 hieroglyphs were shown. They were the "Folded Cloth", "Fire drill", "Vulture", and "Stick", and are open to interpretation. Though the Producers later did provide an official translation of the meaning. Each glyph represents a particular coded alpha-numeric to form part of a word. But because one of them is not shown, I wont say what that word is. And the show itself does not provide a translation, nor even why there were Hieroglyphs in the timer. But by the end of the series it sort of all makes sense.
Apparently the "Tree Frog" found by Hurley and Sawyer was a "Poison Dart Frog". Its from Central America, but was brought to Hawaii to control the Mosquito population. Sawyer obviously was not holding a real frog in his hand. BTW one fan came up with a very interesting theory about the frog. That it wasn't really a frog but something else entirely. Can't say because of spoilers. But its something pretty clever about the Frog and its particular torment of Sawyer. Also, there is an interesting ancient symbolic connection between the Frog and the Hieroglyphs in the Swan stn. So the Frog's introduction in this episode was not random.

Henry Gale is a character in The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy Gale's uncle. In the Wizard of Oz, the titular character - the Wizard - is known for arriving in Oz by hot air balloon. Lost is know for its references to fantasy, fairy tales, and scifi classics. Narnia, even more Oz, etc.
Michael Emerson is a brilliant actor, and the Henry Gale mystery is a brilliant one. Because it's binary, like the "button" mystery. There are two answers. Either, this man is Henry Gale. He arrived on the island in a hot air balloon, his wife died, and he is telling the truth. Or, he is lying, and he is an Other. The button mystery is the same. Either entering the numbers into the machine is meaningless, a psychological experiment run by the Dharma Initiative, and pushing the button is a waste of time. Or, what Desmond was told is true. And not entering numbers would be catastrophic, killing not only everyone on the island, but maybe even doing dire harm to everyone on the planet. One answer is true, the other is false. And that means, right now, there are two possible readings of the show is regards to both these elements. Do you want them to not press the button? Well, if it's not true, then yes, you want them to discover that. If it is true, then not pushing is means that everyone dies, which presumably you do not want. Do you want them to torture Henry? Well, if he's an innocent man, I assume not. If he's an Other, then absolutely, as we want more information on them. The name *Henry Gale* is also a reference to *The Wizard of Oz* which stars Dorothy Gale, and features her uncle Henry. The titular Wizard of Oz also arrived in Oz by flying a hot air balloon. Lost has a lot of references. The name *John Locke* belongs to an English philosopher whose work later influenced other philosophers like Jean-Jacques *Rousseau.*
yet another actor who appeared in X-Files as well, lots of connections between X-Files, Lost, and Breaking Bad.. Dean Norris for example was in all 3 shows
Henry Gale and the Balloon are references to Wizard of Oz. I don't know about the Henry part, but Gale is the family name given to Dorothy and the Balloon is how the Wizard got to and from Oz. There are actually a bunch of references in character names: John Locke was the name of a philosopher, Rousseau was also a philosopher, etc
Ahhh... careful! This might be a slight *spoiler* (if you've not seen the show, read no further). I'm pretty sure Desmond's full name hasn't been revealed yet.
I mean... The way Sawyer killed the frog was definitely fucked up, true. But if Locke came back from a hunt with a bunch of frogs, I think people would line up to eat them and nobody would scold him for killing them.
Fantastic reaction...your excitement about Henry was palpable!! Totally with you on the frog thing. Don't care what they do to each other, but killing a harmless little frog is just too much.

*SPOILER! BIG SPOILER IN THE PREVIOUS COMMENT!* Please don't read this Lexi. This is Kelvin's first appearance on the show. You're referencing episodes that haven't happened yet. Yes, we've met Kate's dad. We have not met Kelvin before this. I know it gets confusing to remember what happens when, but you need to be careful. And I'm sure this is just an accident, nothing malicious. The name Kelvin has been mentioned, but that is it. And I've just done some checking, the name Kelvin is not used in this episode. In fact, in the script the character is referred to as Joe Inman (the character would later be revealed as Kelvin Joe Inman). There is no way for Lexi, or any viewer, to make that connection yet.

3 Interesting things about Sayid's flashback:
1) Kate's stepfather
2) A photo of Kate

The reason the boar and now the frog don’t like Sawyer is because he killed their polar bear friend.
