The way you say Sawyer is completely valid, and lots of people in this very show say it the same way. ANYWAY, I love your appreciation for Sawyer's character. I feel like he's probably the best developed character so far Oh, fun fact: the plane crash occurs in universe on the same day the pilot aired, 09/22/04. Red Sox ended up winning the Series like, three or four weeks later, which made this episode outdated immediately XD
I think it's reasonable to assume that Hibbs just conned Sawyer into killing a man that simply owed Hibbs money, and that had nothing to do with Sawyer.
Pronounce Sawyer however you want to. People pronounce words differently and that's completely fine. Remember Admiral Souther from The Expanse? Some people pronounce it "Su-ther" and some people pronounce it "Sow-ther" and both are fine.
I absolutely looooved the way you described the relationship between kate and sawyer and how they're essentially good people underneath the surface. And how you see the simmering 'friendship' between sawyer and jack and even sayid. I feel like you GET the characters, but also are very in tune with the show as a whole already and it just makes me excited for future reactions!
"James" could be just another alias, but it makes sense he would reveal his true identity to the man he wanted to take his revenge on. I wonder if he signed his name to the letter he wrote as a kid.
People involved with the production of the show worked on the show Nash Bridges ( a pretty standard cop show ) a few years earlier. Some of the actors from Bridges show up on Lost. Not Don Johnson; he believed he was shorted some money, and went to court.
I don't know how far ahead you are yet Carmen, but I am begging you, don't watch episode 19 with subtitles on. There's an important subtitle on streaming services that is notoriously CANONICALLY incorrect. ( subtitles are often written by third parties not the show production team). Just want to spare you speculating on bad intel. This is one of the best Sawyer episodes, by the by. And pronounce his name however you like, it's all good :)
What were those first few seconds? 🤣 so excited for this long journey ahead, this is such a great show that I’ve come to appreciate a lot more than I did while it aired after watching other reactions over the years. Everyone brings their best, I’d put this up there with Breaking Bad when it comes to a live action series.
Soy-er: How the show pronounces it. Saw-yer: How your southern region pronounces it. No matter how you pronounce it, we all know who you're talking about. Pronounce it how it's comfortable to you and forget the gripes. Just my opinion.
Context is important. This was just a few years after 9/11, remember. Good ole boys named Bubba weren't being attacked and killed, their children harassed, or having their businesses and places of worship vandalized.
What? Yes it is. "Reverse racism" doesn't exist. That is not the same as saying that stereotypes for white people, specifically white Southern people in the US, doesn't exist. But to equate it to the racism that people from the Middle East, particularly men, experienced especially after 9/11 is actually offensive.
@@heidos7 But to equate it to the racism that people from the Middle East?..I'm not equating it..I'm saying the bigotry southern white men face now, and have always faced, is worse and more prevalent...you have even yourself admitted it exists and seem to be fine with it, which helps prove me right and prove you wrong..thanks..
No the Red Socks didn't won the series AT THE TIME ! Just think, Carmen, they won't say something obviously wrong in their show ! Trust them ! And never forget that IN 2004, The Red Socks NEVER WON A MATCH, and that season has been made in 2004 !

not just so far he is one of the best written characters in tv history. probably around top 10
"Maybe he wanted to go camping" - Said being the very best. One of my fave all time Lost lines.

“Peed on my shirt!” Always makes me laugh 😆
People getting along with Sawyer almost always depends on how Sawyer behaves.
"James" could be just another alias, but it makes sense he would reveal his true identity to the man he wanted to take his revenge on. I wonder if he signed his name to the letter he wrote as a kid.
Great chapter. A thrilling season finale is coming

I think you might be the best current Lost reactor :)

Once she's posted it on here can you tell me what you mean? Can't remember what it could be.
🌴 ❤ 🌴 ughh I luv the way you watch! You're seeing it all ❤❤❤❤ so effin fun!!!

Listen to Locke's story about his foster mom, sister and the dog again closely. It will give you some insight into the boar and Sawyer.
"Tampa job"...host wearing a Bucs t shirt?
Locke:What happened to your Campsite? What Sawyer should have said: It's a Boaring story you wouldn't want to hear it. ]:P

calling Sayid Muhammad is no more offensive than characters like Sawyer being called Bubba

@@zammmerjammer Facts. Thank you.
@@zammmerjammer its just as if not far more common for all white southern men to be blamed for the actions of a few

She did say right after "AT THE TIME". Listening is important.
