Cool test guys! The proper Motul to use is the Micro 2T as it's designed for Ethanol, Methanol and would be the most appropriate pre-mix for E85. I've done similar tests for stability and how it stays in solution at a realistic 100:1 ratio, but I haven't burned them off to see for residue.
I think I prefer the OMP adaptors since there isn't anything wrong with oil metering system except it's using sump oil with the adaptors you have an external reservoir for oil so you still use a 2 stroke oil except it's injected instead of premix
kool video, ive been running the penrite race caster in my fd on e85 for about 4 years, ive always liked it but never actually knew wat it did when i put it in my tank, thanks for the video
Unless your Rotary is turbo charged it doesn't need to run on e85. Just a good non ethanol unleaded petrol is fine. I and others have run back to back tests on using different octane fuels and e85. On a Large IPRA Bridgeport Standard non ethanol unleaded made just as much horsepower as e85 and even avgas. Spend your money on a good set of NGK plugs instead.
From the test, motul turns out having less to no soot, which is best for the rotary, gonna try out the motul if its gonna leave black residue on my rx8 exhaust tips. Great vid 👍🏻
Have been running idemitsu with 98 for a couple of years. Works great just hard to source in Australia. I end up having to order a batch from mazdatrix in the U.S.
Good idea for a video, if you do it again in a more controlled way you can come to some sort of conclusion ay? Channel seems to be going in a good direction. Just remember quality over quantity
Hey Mates! A guy I met on a rotary engine site told me to not use any synthetic oil in a rotary engine. The only brand I can find that presently does not have synthetic oil is Briggs & Stratton 2 cycle oil. The bottle says it is ashless. The guy I was talking about says synthetic oil leaves deposits in the engine. Maybe that's what that brown liquid left when you burned it. Hmmmm. What do you guys know about what's ok to mix with non-ethanol gas?
Since my RX3 decades ago i found unless you are racing your wankel engine and getting the temperatures right up,ricin castor based oils will clag up your engine big time and lead to premature apex seal failure as the seal grooves clog up solid eventually..Dont use castor for general street use..Ive tried all the lubes on the market over the years and the best of the best in my own experience and opinion on the 13B (and i know im going to get shot down here) is Aviation Gas Turbine Jet Engine oil mixed at 100:1 with the OMP plus adaptor connected as well..It also mixes with methanol and is great for racing use too...with the bonus of a sweet smelling exhaust.
@@misfirerotary Why? A lot of sources like essexrotary and some people that are rebuilding RX8 engines are saying that lubrication of central parts of apexes is insufficient, so it may be worth it to add premix at least for series 1. Don't you think so? Also they say that bearings are suffering from thin 5w30 oil and suggest higher viscocity oil like 10w30+.
@@She1lby Just change your oil often, it's not the oil, it's about how many Km you let it sit in your engine. As soon asi mine starts to turn brown, it goes out. As for the SAE viscosity, it depends on the climate you live.
Excellent job guys 👏,more more more videos please ppl needs to be educated about the engines instead of just believing whatever bad experience they might read on the internet,.what's the conclusion BTW hope you guys pay a bit more attention to details
This oils can behave totally different under atual work onditions - high pressure, heat etc. Perhaps what You do may give some clue, but I'm not certain about it... And Who told You that better mixed oil performs better ? Perhaps the one creating drops directly at the edge of the rotor where is the actual friction is better. This kind of 'tests' are shit.
98 would be the most widely used, prob would have done that one first 👍
That's right, I one vote for 98
They testing oil not fuel. It won’t make a difference. If You think it will go on and try🤷♂️

I run *Silkolene Pro KR2 Go-Kart Oil* castor based. Fairly sparingly as I have the omp still running. Mainly for the smell 😂

Test 98/traditional fuel. not everyone is running e85
Wussss
Would like to see the separation in the glasses like the day after.
so caster it is ... mixed well and burned clean to the last drop.. thanks
Really? Wow
You mean the Motul 800 right? We're you being sarcastic?
Awesome content/ outstanding info, thanks.
What about royal purple 2 stroke. I have heard its good for rotary's

Race castor for me. It cheap than others and great protection my bike piston and good smell.
wich castor do you use ?
@@dimmacommunication i use a penrite, it just 800Baht in thailand.

Castrol a747 is 1600

👌idea
It would be great guys if you did a 95/98 test since not everyone has access to e85.
true
100%

@@misfirerotary too bad, i just checked in my country the motul supplier dont bring in any 2t, only the m oils, we dont even have the idemitsu

Running Klotz KL-200 in mine [E85], no issues at all, mixes well slightly cheaper than the pac stuff
I've been using Royal Purple 2 stroke oil in my RX7. Have you guys tried it and if so what do you think?
I’ll buy some and test in next vid
I'd love to see what happens if you stir/mix them in and then let them sit for a day/week to see if the oil falls out of solution
👍 it’s sitting on the bench ready for the next vid
@@misfirerotary that never came? Bring the vid back with premix and 98 and see which oil stays diluted better then do the burn test
Do the test on regular pump gas
We have it in the works a brand new product kris and I will redo👍👍

I kinda have to b non biased🤔

Puerto rico 91 fuel idemitsu premix is good or not??
That's what I use in washington idemitsu and 92
So R40 mixes well with ethanol ?
I have access to 99.9 % ethanol here in europe , Does it mix well in pure ethanol ?
support is here boys
I thought have to avoid synthetic oil at all cost for rotary

U use this in regular unleaded fuel
Is it ok to switch ftom Castrol XR77 fully synthetic to Castrol A747 in ny baja 5b without causing premature damage?
Can I use MOTUL 800 2T Premix to my Mazda rx8

Klotz!!!!! Super Techniplate
Which one has the highest zinc content ? :P
Lucas oil has largest zinc on the market from what I have found that’s just engine oil
