Hello, hopefully this isn’t a dumb question but would this monitor work with the PS5? The PS5 uses HDMI 2.1 and I want to make sure I buy the right monitor. Does this monitor have HDMI 2.1?
Remember when someone tells you they can't tell the difference between glossy and matte, these same people also claim they can't tell the difference between 30 FPS and 500 FPS, they also cannot tell whether the Earth is Flat or Round. These are not people to have conversations with.
@@Keivz He is an idiot, there is a huge difference between matte and glossy coating especially on OLED I have seen both in person already. This is like those idiots who continue to deny that input lag is real or that they can't see above 30 FPS.
Bro must have gotten a different screen than I did, I already sent mine back. Worst text clarity I have seen on a monitor in 20 years, dim, and a whole pile of dead pixels.
Getting a good panel is RNG same as TV you r ether lucky or unclucky you can buy 10 of Same monitor but none will be the same it's pure RNG sadly that's what happens when it's mass production
Sure is a little on the dim side in comparison to LCD, but I have had zero issues with brightness, especially in HDR. Text clarity looks damn fine, too. Colors are spot on and you really can't beat how smooth this thing is running at its full potential.
I mean, PG27AQDM would have to be better in some huge ways to be preferable. They are both 1440p OLEDs for seemingly similar price, but one of them is 360hz.
i dont know who the FUCK or decided to make IPS panel a Matte all i know ever since IPS came out it was Glossy ...now we suffer from A Matte Ips panels
Flickering is not only on low gray windowed applications, it is on any low gray picture with VRR enabled. The reason why you see it in windowed desktop applications is because G-sync is applied to them incorrectly which causes refresh rate to go wild. But you will see it with any low grayish scene with VRR if FPS is fluctuating at all. This is a huge issue and those displays should not be advertised as VRR compatible.
Yeah I didn't even notice the flickering, but my eyes hurt when I tried to use the VRR. It really shouldn't even be advertised as compatible with how awful it is. Even watching youtube videos my eyes were dying. I thought it was the brightness or glossy screen, but nope, just terrible VRR.
The whole matte vs glossy argument you make is subjective. There really is no need for you to pontificate about glossy all the time. I enjoy the technical details you provide , but you lose me when you do that. People can decide themselves.More tech less personal opinion.
I find it quite funny how you clowned on matte finishes for so long and were begging for glossy monitors. Now they're here they have their issues and aren't perfect. I genuienly don't mind the matte finish, I don't know why you hate it so much.
How the oled panel producer can't make a panel that displays text well? Do they realize that the vast majority of people use the monitor for text? unbelievable...
@clave2049 I went with the 27, and it's a great monitor. I know the 32 looks better, but it's more expensive and hits harder on your hardware, so it's a tough decision.
@@Christian-cy2pn awesome! yeah 32 inch needs a powerful pc. how is the 27inch? do the colors look good? was it worth it? also how is it for watching movies/YT
@clave2049 I only tested it last night, played cyberpunk with everything maxed out and it realy looked good. Not every game looks like this, but overall it's a good display, probably the best 27 in the market. I still have to test it more, but so far so good. The colors looks very good and it is bright enough, not dim at all. I may be expected even more popping colors, but as I say I need to test it more.
the simple fact the monitor screen has a gap between the edges makes me not want it at all! and the thick design is ugly as hell for an OLED screen it should have thin bezels all round like the ASUS!
just got this monitor and it's amazing. recommend buying it if u were looking at it. had the lg 240hz oled, returned it, way too dim. had the 240hz aoc oled, returned it. had the 300hz ASUS 1440p, was decent but returned it for this. I've never had a glossy monitor and this is insane. This monitor feels like your on a huge iphone screen. best monitor ive used. Use cases: hours of coding everyday, and hours of gaming. Text clarity is not an issue at all.
your comment has gone a long way to convince me to order this monitor... still undecided, though. I may be getting caught up in the details that don't even apply to me... The part about it being glossy and being like a huge iPhone screen (I have an iPhone 14 OLED display) and LOVE it. I also have an M2 Macbook Air with 13" LED screen and it's pretty close to OLED for me (not talking gaming, just using for desktop related apps). Honestly, I thought this MacBook M2 Air had an OLED. Apple has some nice displays. Thanks. ** Update ** I got the AW2725DF and experienced immediate and extreme eye strain. I returned it within a week and got the ASUS ROG Swift 27" 240Hz matte WOLED (PG27AQDM) to replace it. The Asus is not quite as nice but it's amazing if it's your first OLED computer monitor and theres no painful eye strain.
I am concerned about the fan inside this monitor. I heard some owners report that it emits a high pitch noise. I have returned many thing in the past because of high pitch sound. My ears are very sensitive.
Probably the one in this vid that's 1440p. I would just not get the Alienware AW3225QF, because the firmware just completely fucks over the appeal of the monitor and motion clarity is better on display in this vid and ofcourse 360hz refresh rate combined with lower response times than the Alienware 4k makes the 1440p 360hz one way better. The biggest point why I would just not recommend the Alienware 4k OLED is just the atrocious firmware in sdr. The firmware really makes the monitor unusable for video editing and gaming
I wish Alienware would be consistent in either Lunar Light (White) or Black cabinets. Or offer it in both. I know most people don't care about the color of their monitor in their setup, but if 85%+ of your products (Alienware) are Lunar Light, and if there's options to get keyboards, mice, etc. in several colors, it's not like nobody thinks about it. Alienware was the outlier to the hundreds of boring black monitors. Till relatively recently. As of now, seems like MSi variant of this Samsung panel is the strongest value till the G6 OLED shows up and really shakes things up.
On text fringing: Why create a subpixel layout for high end OLED panels that produces text fringing?? These tech companies have no clue what they’re doing: create a technology that fails on basic functionality such as reading text.
I have the msi one that has same panel, but in SDR mode, windows APL size, from 50 % for example, to 100 %, birghtness increase a little bit and its very annoying for me, this mode has same panel, but can you test if do this weird abl behavior too?
A monitor with poor text clarity means its a Tv with bs marketing, the fact they can't even ship such basic software that comes with it without bugs says it all, definitely an "early access" product...... Except with no hope of a software fix for half of its short comings. Looks like the wait for a real oled monitor that deserves the title is not over yet.
have the ultrawide model at 120 hz that goes up too 1000 nits and thats whats keeping me from grabbing this one.... maybe OLED needs another year on the stove for me
I dont like that this monitor has a fan for cooling, once that fan stops working years later it means your $900 dollar monitor wont have any active cooling. With that said I am buying the msi mag 271qpx from best buy with geek squad warranty so it can cover burn in since msi warranty doesnt cover burn in. Msi uses a graphene film and heatsink for cooling which i like so much better than a fan that can stop working at any time.
@Doctor0Who yeah im not dealing with having the send a monitor for a damn fan replacement. And unless that shiny new toy is 1000hz, i can careless about it. The milliseconds difference from 240hz to 500hz is minimal
If you have money and don't intend to play competitive games a high % of the time, sure. But 32in and 240hz is significantly worse for competitive shooters. Also, upkeep cost of 4k is far higher, forcing you to upgrade your GPU potentially every gen just to keep up and use your 4k monitor at good enough frames on modern titles.
@@TheCabIe what are you talking about? A 4080 is capable od 240 hz on warzone, other shooters are easy to run, at the end the most heavy games to run are all story games, like alan wake... for those games you can use frame generation and tou don't need to reach 240 fps... sure it is not cheap to game a 4k, but not because is expensive I am going to say that is dumb or it is better a 1440p 🤷🏻♂️
@@genocidehero9687 I have not heard of rampant horror stories with Alien Ware. I will definitely be passing with zero burn in coverage with MSI. Also those prices I do not think have been confirmed. It may be a pricing mistake.
In theory it's semi glossy with a small amount of matte, but that's in theory, because practically the monitor is way, way, way more glossy than matte. You won't notice the matte at all. Image quality is basically the same as on completely glossy 1440p QD-OLED screens.
alienware is cheating, it only reaches this brightness in testing scenarios. explaination in this video: Cr6x35C3xtU?t=242 (timestamp) TLDR: its a 200nits Monitor..
It's 2k, with a 4090 you can easily reach those numbers on e sport titles, and a much higher frame rate on the likes of CyberPunk, or Alan Wake 2.....and starfield which still baffles me optimization wise. (A 4080, the flagship amd gpu which name escapes me, and even a 4070ti/super will do the trick just fine at 2k but a 4090 to take full advantage.) 4k is a very different story. Since your effectively chopping a 4k resolution by more than half at 2k aka qhd its great. 4k 240hz qd oleds are more of a future proof display, if you were to purchase that, then I would highly recommend getting one with dp 2.1 for next gen graphic cards.
1:16 sorry what? you do know hdmi is limited to 144hz?? ..this is technology limits not faulty ports....its always been the case that display ports gives a way higher refresh rate.
@@toohigh5721 how so…the highest possible is 144hz at 4k for hdmi2.1 and 240hz at 1080p… unless the Alienware introduced a mode switching similar to the MSI model i think it was it simply can’t go higher. And there’s no point doing it at 1440p.. definitely benefits of doing it on the 4k version.
Regarding delay? The 49” DSC implementation was crap, I felt the delay, on the ASUS 360hz ULMB screen I don’t feel it at all. DSC shouldn’t add any issues if it’s done properly, but it can be done improperly and cause lots of problems.
It just depends on your needs what the best monitor is. Are you super conpetitive and you want 1080p 540hz? Do you want to be competitive, have a slightly less refresh rate of 360hz and benefit from QD-OLED and 1440p? Or do you really accept nothing else than 4k 240hz QD-OLED? I would personally recommend you the Asus Rog PG248QP for 1080p super competitive, the one in this vid for 1440p QD-OLED: The Alienware AW2725DF, and the ASUS ROG PG32UCDM for 4k 240hz QD-OLED. The 1080p is E-sports TN, the 1440p and 4k one are OLED. It really just depends on your needs

I had the asus rog strix 27", 360hz, for a few weeks, which is a great monitor and returned it after receiving the aw2725df, so far best monitor I have ever owned. The clarity and quality are just amazing.
Yes it better than my asus.
@99vv17 thas comparing to asus ips monitor, however msi and aw use the same qd oled panel. they should not be much different.
Hello, hopefully this isn’t a dumb question but would this monitor work with the PS5? The PS5 uses HDMI 2.1 and I want to make sure I buy the right monitor. Does this monitor have HDMI 2.1?
Yes
So which is better 27” Msi MPG OLED or the Dell AW2725DF OLED ???
Alienware
@@Who-Uhm-Cares if so why?
Is it 1440P
yes
Remember when someone tells you they can't tell the difference between glossy and matte, these same people also claim they can't tell the difference between 30 FPS and 500 FPS, they also cannot tell whether the Earth is Flat or Round.
These are not people to have conversations with.
Optimumtech said there’s basically no difference in his eyes. It’s subjective.
1440p is generally bad clarity. You need 4k for that
Getting a good panel is RNG same as TV you r ether lucky or unclucky you can buy 10 of Same monitor but none will be the same it's pure RNG sadly that's what happens when it's mass production
@@gch910you don't know what you r talking about
@@gch910 lol what are u talking, 4k for gaming is dumb
Sure is a little on the dim side in comparison to LCD, but I have had zero issues with brightness, especially in HDR. Text clarity looks damn fine, too. Colors are spot on and you really can't beat how smooth this thing is running at its full potential.
I cant tolerate any OLEDS due to flickering modulation.
I get zero flickering on my Dell qd oled. My lg woled did it like crazy. Dell is one of the best out there for tuning monitors.
the lg was the one i had, only one, i will try the qdoled probably@@MrDutch1e
Alienware AW2725DF or Asus PG27AQDM ?????🙏
I mean, PG27AQDM would have to be better in some huge ways to be preferable. They are both 1440p OLEDs for seemingly similar price, but one of them is 360hz.
@@TheCabIe And qd oled vs woled, semiglossy vs matte and more cheaper
i dont know who the FUCK or decided to make IPS panel a Matte all i know ever since IPS came out it was Glossy ...now we suffer from A Matte Ips panels
Regarding the ICC profile, do we have to install both SRGB and HDR 480 or either of them? Thanks for the video
Still waiting for a price for this here in the Uk
digital stream compression... gets the job done.... im not tryna pay thousands for displays that just get the job done
I genuienly don't mind the matte finish, I don't know why you hate it so much.
are you sure its GSYNC compatible? the 4k one is but its not stated on dells site.
Yes it is
@@TheSpazoQCno it’s not .. sadly not
Isn’t this the same dude who has a video saying not to buy 1440p monitors for gaming?
Still color fringing. Will wait for next gen and stay with my fast IPS.
How the oled panel producer can't make a panel that displays text well? Do they realize that the vast majority of people use the monitor for text? unbelievable...
Im so torn between this and 3225qf.
same here. might just go with the 27inch since its perfect for fps games
@@Christian-cy2pn nice this monitor sounds pretty good. does it have any scratches? or do u have any eye strain?
the simple fact the monitor screen has a gap between the edges makes me not want it at all! and the thick design is ugly as hell for an OLED screen it should have thin bezels all round like the ASUS!
how many years will it take to get QD OLED on mainstream?
just got this monitor and it's amazing. recommend buying it if u were looking at it.
had the lg 240hz oled, returned it, way too dim.
had the 240hz aoc oled, returned it.
had the 300hz ASUS 1440p, was decent but returned it for this.
I've never had a glossy monitor and this is insane. This monitor feels like your on a huge iphone screen. best monitor ive used.
Use cases: hours of coding everyday, and hours of gaming. Text clarity is not an issue at all.
Be careful when you code, having static images for hours will cause burn in as it did with my oled monitor
your comment has gone a long way to convince me to order this monitor... still undecided, though.
The Asus is not quite as nice but it's amazing if it's your first OLED computer monitor and theres no painful eye strain.
thanks for commenting on text. I work 8 hours a day coding and not a lot of opinions out there about it
Is there a uniform brightness setting?
I am concerned about the fan inside this monitor. I heard some owners report that it emits a high pitch noise. I have returned many thing in the past because of high pitch sound. My ears are very sensitive.
can't hear any fan noise.
Excited for the 32" 4k 240hz monitor reviews.
That's also QD OLED with a glossy finish, so yea that one should be an absolutely insane monitor too just like the monitor in this vid is
So what should be the best monitor for video editing (non 4k) and for playing games (mostly Fortnite), this or the Alienware AW3225QF QD-OLED?
Probably the one in this vid that's 1440p. I would just not get the Alienware AW3225QF, because the firmware just completely fucks over the appeal of the monitor and motion clarity is better on display in this vid and ofcourse 360hz refresh rate combined with lower response times than the Alienware 4k makes the 1440p 360hz one way better. The biggest point why I would just not recommend the Alienware 4k OLED is just the atrocious firmware in sdr. The firmware really makes the monitor unusable for video editing and gaming
Gorilla glass is the only glass. I do not understand (at all) what they're doing over there but they're always next level.
New week
New king
Those monitors don't come with polarizer, so they blacks look grayed. LG Oled panels show true blacks even in bright rooms
As of now, seems like MSi variant of this Samsung panel is the strongest value till the G6 OLED shows up and really shakes things up.
hope they iron out the problems in a firmware update..
thinking really hard between this and the Samsung G9 oled odyssey to put with my ASUS PG279Q
On text fringing: Why create a subpixel layout for high end OLED panels that produces text fringing??
These tech companies have no clue what they’re doing: create a technology that fails on basic functionality such as reading text.
It's for gaming first
I have the msi one that has same panel, but in SDR mode, windows APL size, from 50 % for example, to 100 %, birghtness increase a little bit and its very annoying for me, this mode has same panel, but can you test if do this weird abl behavior too?
A monitor with poor text clarity means its a Tv with bs marketing, the fact they can't even ship such basic software that comes with it without bugs says it all, definitely an "early access" product...... Except with no hope of a software fix for half of its short comings. Looks like the wait for a real oled monitor that deserves the title is not over yet.
Alienware keeps releasing firmware, they can easily fix issues while selling tons, meanwhine other brands don't even have their answer ready yet
your voice sounds like this other channel i watch i think you are the same channel?
have the ultrawide model at 120 hz that goes up too 1000 nits and thats whats keeping me from grabbing this one.... maybe OLED needs another year on the stove for me
Thanks for tip for custom HDR mode. Much brighter for me. Waiting on settings to drop on your patreon.
No … it’s not g sync compatible 😢
I would never trade a 4k 32in for a 27 in 1440p...

I've heard that this display is actually semi glossy with a minor matte finish
Na it's glossy af
In theory it's semi glossy with a small amount of matte, but that's in theory, because practically the monitor is way, way, way more glossy than matte. You won't notice the matte at all. Image quality is basically the same as on completely glossy 1440p QD-OLED screens.

What’s the consensus on upgrading from the 34” 23 model? Am I going to just be wasting money on an incremental upgrade if I go for this?
I just pulled the trigger, and I am coming from the 34", I am just kind of sick of the work arounds for Ultra Wide monitors so I am going back to 16:9
got mine but it wont turn on ;-;
I still need a 27 inch 4k glossy FLAT qd-oled.
You wont see that. 4K on 27 inch requires massive scaling.
is the lack of dp 2.1 an issue to reach the max hz?
It's 2k, with a 4090 you can easily reach those numbers on e sport titles, and a much higher frame rate on the likes of CyberPunk, or Alan Wake 2.....and starfield which still baffles me optimization wise. (A 4080, the flagship amd gpu which name escapes me, and even a 4070ti/super will do the trick just fine at 2k but a 4090 to take full advantage.)
4k is a very different story. Since your effectively chopping a 4k resolution by more than half at 2k aka qhd its great.
4k 240hz qd oleds are more of a future proof display, if you were to purchase that, then I would highly recommend getting one with dp 2.1 for next gen graphic cards.

I would never pay 800 for a 1440p oled. Has to be 4k at that point. We aint back in 2019.
And I’d like to hear if you agree about DSC or not
Regarding delay? The 49” DSC implementation was crap, I felt the delay, on the ASUS 360hz ULMB screen I don’t feel it at all.
DSC shouldn’t add any issues if it’s done properly, but it can be done improperly and cause lots of problems.
When will we get 4K 360 fps monitors.
Also. What’s the BEST monitor to buy this year?
I’m about to go ALL out on a $6000 PC
You're getting screwed over if you're paying $6000, unless that includes peripheral costs.
