    Any of what Dickinson does is better than anything you've ever done. Not knocking your work, you're great and all, with that one song with the all the high notes, but Dickinson's career has been one of consistent excellence whether with Maiden or his various solo projects. So far the new album has some great 'Chemical Wedding' vibes, and I'm a huge fan of concept albums in general.

    As a huge Maiden and Bruce fan can't wait for the new solo album. Bruce's solo albums have been pretty solid with the two outstanding ones being Accident of Birth and The Chemical Wedding. The live album Scream for Me Brazil is also great and contains possibly some of his greatest vocals.
    Really looking forward to what Bruce and Roy Z will give us and would also have been nice to have Adrian Smith on board too. As for the single I really don't like the video although maybe it's cheesy pretentiousness or tongue in cheek vibe is lost on me? The song has a solid riff and a nice melodic side so the rest of album should bode well. The only thing I don't like is the growling vocal for the repeat of the title ' Afterglow of Ragnarok'.
    Justin you really need to check out Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith's album collaboration with Ritchie Kotzen. Adrian has to be one of the most underrated guitarists and it's not widely known how good his lead vocals are. When Maiden had their 'second coming' in 2000 with the Brave New World album much of the credit was about Bruce's return. However, the ensuing success and has had as much to do with Adrian's return as guitarist and composer.

Bruce also make me think of Lord of the Rings.. mostly with song titles and "subject matter".. weird I guess? All that shit aside, I like his New work.. I have a few of his albums, one more wont hurt :D

    Anyway Ragnarok is sort of the end of the workd in viking mythology. But they see times as cyclical so it's also a start of something new.

    I never really got into Iron Maiden, until I bought some crap old Mondeo for £200 which had their greatest hits tape stuck in the stereo, that was the best summer ever!
    Sold the car for £400 when I was done with it, tape included 😂

    It has a faint whiff of ragnorpööp. Heres a little known fact bruce dickinson is actually dyslexic and when he was story boarding his video ideas for this song his original plan was to have it Christmassy for Christmas with snow, and vikings, and santa and elves. However he misspelled santaism and we ended up with pentagrams and satanic symbolism.

    Growing up I was entertained and amazed by Bruce in Maiden , I got my general aviation pilot license when I was 50 and now I'm more impressed with the ratings and knowledge base he has as a pilot more than anything else. Bruce is the man.

    • @SuziQ.
      @SuziQ. 8 месяцев назад +1

      My parents got their ratings in their fifties, too. My mom got her IFR (dad was only VFR). Bruce’s dedication to being a good pilot has always impressed me. I’ve known pilots who shouldn’t be pilots (both commercial and private).

    • @richardharrold9736
      @richardharrold9736 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@SuziQ. If you're not aware, you should read up on the TNFlyGirl crash. Low aptitude, piss weak training, poor cockpit resource management... two dead in a perfectly serviceable aircraft in good VMC.

    • @SuziQ.
      @SuziQ. 8 месяцев назад

      @@richardharrold9736 , I haven’t found any articles that mention anything about the cause of the crash, just that she had 400 hours of flight time, and was working on getting her IFR rating. That Bonanza was almost 60 years old.
      I don’t understand her “flying for fun” attitude. My parents (and Bruce, from what I’ve heard) took flying seriously, and used it as transportation. We kept our plane well maintained. Do you have any links about the conditions you mentioned?

    • @richardharrold9736
      @richardharrold9736 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@SuziQ. Have a read of the PPRuNe thread about her, which contains many useful and informative remarks on the evidence her videos contained (they've since been pulled off RUclips). Flying for fun is fine, and the age of the aircraft was not a factor in any way. The problem was entirely that she hadn't a clue how to fly it, and seemingly got it into a position where the elevator trim setting sent it into a dive from which she did not know how to recover it.

    • @SuziQ.
      @SuziQ. 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@richardharrold9736 , I read part of the thread, and watched the video included. It seems like she had no understanding of the autopilot system. I don’t know why she was using it, and fighting it, when she should have disengaged the AP, and handled the plane herself. That video was with one of her instructors, not the video of the flight prior to the crash. I don’t know how she got certified to fly VFR, when it looks like she didn’t know how to fly the Beechcraft.

  • @SuziQ.

    I love Bruce with Maiden, more than Bruce solo. His high notes do sound amazing!
    I’m not digging the video, but I tend to ignore videos, and prefer listening to the music. I’ll give it a listen without the video.
    Justin, take my advice, and dye your hair if it starts turning white. That look ages people.

    Bruce Dickinson is far better as a sola artist i feel. My favorite album is Accident of Birth and the Chemical Wedding with Tyranny of Souls third . . . This new album i just started to listen to so i dont know where to place it, but i like it what i hear, its a bit of a half concept album as i understands it? I will listen and try to get some lyrics, anyone have suggestions and information about that?
    I seen Bruce Live as well, great small close concert in Stockholm Sweden many years ago.
