Man, NO ONE could phrase like Casals.....Technically, others 'might' play circles around him but Pablo SINGS on his cello like NO other.

Absolutely beautiful masterclass. Very good student in Jeff Holm. Bernard Greenhouse had a magnificent tone also. Pablo Casals had a beautiful cello and so also had Jeff Holmes. Casals made the cello sing like no other. It takes a lot of course to play in front of the great master. Thanks so much for posting this gem for us. Just goes to show the very high standards in Berkeley University. Wonderful pianist and great accompanist.

12 years ago in a lesson I was told one of these existed for boccerini!
It almost seemed like the grützmacher concerto had been completly memory holed
