- Releasing these theories are always nerve wracking, since they are very subjective, but I hope you guys enjoy my 4th theory video! I was gonna wait until after Arc-V ended before making this, but decided to surprise you guys, kind of as a thank you for all the support you showed me in 2016!

True, although I think I got a working anime timeline theory that would explain everything, with 5Ds taking place in 2021 on a separate timeline from GX then the 4 timelines are explored in maybe 2023 at the latest in the Arc V series. @1- 20 - 7 LG idk man. It would make a lot of sense if he traveled to the past and thats where the whole prophecy from the first series comes from. Calling him a sorcerer because of all of his crazy gadgets and stuff. Seems more possible than traveling to the after life.

I like to think that Kaiba built a blue eyes spaceship and will come back at the end of arc V just to announce that he had made his own colony on the moon after somehow bringing back the pharaoh, and so mokuba had to take over and ended up bringing Kaiba Corp down accidentally. :-)
in the movie dark side of dimensions kaiba did use the cubic millenium item to travel back in time in order to duel pharaoh once again

With the new Dark Side of Dimension movie, the big timeline split could have happened when kaiba goes back to duel the pharaoh. His absence in that timeline fits right into this theory perfectly.

When I first started watching GX I hated Jaden because of how he would always say that dueling is all about having fun. But as the series progressed he developed into my favourite yu gi oh protagonist and I really think he is the second strongest protagonist (behind Yugi of course)

Jawad Kabir he turned kaiba Corp into mokusoft where he proceeded to make frustrating operating systems hence no duel runners since it was way to annoying and difficult to get the software to work. In conclusion Mokuba ran the company into the ground.
Plot twist: Mokuba kept getting kidnapped over and again, and KC was declared insolvent after paying for all the ransom demanded.

Doesn't add up. It means that Zero Reverse happened in 2004 and in GX Season 4 one of Judai's administration papers has his year of enrolment listed as 2004. That would mean that Zero Reverse happened in the same year GX started, but in Season 2 on their field trip to Domino City we see that everything is fine.

I rewatched 5ds like 1 month ago and when I first saw that I was like hmm the people of 2010 predicted 2022 to be so advanced but like we are now in 2019 so this prediction seems so far of that it's just mind-blowing. I guess it's just to fill background space or its a mistake and they thought no one would see it.

Hear me out first but what if Arc V is Prime timeline. So it's:
1.) Arc V
2.) Yu-Gi-Oh!
3.) Gx
4.) 5D
5.) Zexal
Here how it goes Arc V started with Zarc and this timeline act as the flashpoint for the beginning and end.
Yu-Gi-Oh! During the Egypt time having a main villain Bakura possessed by the evil spirit Zorc with could be a missed translation through ancient times.
Gx speaks of a Judai having a ancient ancestor who fight the Supreme King, and then later be possessed by said king
5D speak about a door locking away a netherworld king with is related to GX saga and duel monsters world
Zexal finally NUMERON CODE was made from a tear of a universe dragon
I like the idea, and I agreed with it up until I remembered that Arc-v has characters from 5ds, GX, and Zexal.
Unless we can say that those returning characters are really past lives.
That would be pretty awesome, and good job for thinking outside the box! Never considered Arc-V to be a prequel, besides the returning characters aspect I could definitely see it working!
The original Yu-Gi-Oh series lasts more than 2 years. In Yu-Gi-Oh the Movie, Pegasus says to Kaiba "Yugi has been kicking your sorry behind for what, 3 years now" and the movie takes place after battle city. I'd say that it lasts at least 4-5 years.

Also, this Anubis guy was defeated by Atem in his past, yet we hear nothing of this in the memory world arc. I mean, not at all. I know this isn't necessarily a plot hole but you'd think such a major villain would at least get a mention had he been faced before Zorc.

I find it way more likely that they probably phased out Momentum for augmented reality. And the real reason Kaiba corp wasn't mentioned in zexal was just to avoid milking the original series with references. To start anew basically. Zexal could be so far in the future that things like Synchro summons, as well as Kaiba corp, could simply just be considered ancient history. Not many people these days talk about technology or companies that went out of business 80 years ago.

So hear me out, what if the "kaiba time-line split" actually happened during his battle with ishizu, when she saw the future that he would lose, but then he got memories of blue eyes and won. There you would have a split, one where kaiba won and one where he loses. Those two time lines can lead to GX but then one leads of to 5Ds and another leads to the other shows.

Dragonball Z has this same issue where there are contradictions to the story to the point where to explain everything away, they have to use "timelines" as an excuse just like this guy is doing. Nothing else matters but selling the new yugioh cards
We never hear about Kaiba in Zexal because he went back in time to duel Pharaoh and he gave it to Mokuba, Kaiba can't get back to the present, dies and Mokuba loses control of the company and whoever takes over the company or Mokuba runs the company in to the ground

Excelent theory! And yes, the split between Kaibas fate is what happens at the end of dark side of dimensions, either he loses his life when going to the afterlife or he managed come to back to present day after dueling Atem one last time, and that’s where the split happens

You could be right! I actually like that theory a lot. If you are correct, that means my theory is most likely wrong, because there would be a massive gap between Kaiba and Leo!
not necessarily if you are talking time. to my knowledge, leo is about twleve-thirteenish in the year 2037, fast foward ten years and he is 22 to 23 in 2047. if seto takes hold of the company during yugioh duel monsters, in the year 2000 in his early twenties. then i might assume that Seto handed the key right to leo after 47ish years of leading the corp. (with him being in his seventies and leo in his early twenties.) unless of course he is replaced by a new ceo in between the times, in which case yes. im not entirely sure.
and i dont mean to come in and just prove your theory wrong. it was very well put together and i couldnt have thought of the idea without watching it.
5Ds played ~ 2019. the World Racing Grand Prix placed 2021 (displayed on Episode 73). and the world racing grand prix is 2 years after the first 5Ds Season
TY! Figured my dates would be off, just wanted to start at 2000 for simplicity
I had noticed that as well but was unsure of the episode it was in. This should mean Zero Reverse occurred in 2002 as it is my understanding it was 17 years prior to season 1 of 5Ds. This is slightly confusing because Jaden met Solomon Muto in GX and yet the city did not seem devastated. Other than that, everything seems to line up.
That would work. Syrus and Aster were Pros at the same time as Jack and Joey Wheeler's alledged cousin was still young.
Actually Season 2 was only 1 year later & Yusei was confirmed 18 during the year 2021, making Zero Reverse take place in 2003. Because of Arc V I'm starting to think that GX & 5Ds are separate timelines that have always been close to eachother with all 4 stemming from the original anime.
The Yu-Gi-Oh world couldn't advance that fast IF Kaiba was never born. Just watch that newest film. Kaiba's a genius.
Actually dark side of dimensions is a bit of a continuity error as it takes place after the yugi vs atem duel from the manga and its duel disks use holograms meanwhile in gx a series 10 years after the same duel uses physical cards so dose 5ds and zexal and arc-v so the only way I see this your facts making sense is if the duel disks from dark side of dimensions all glitches or the film isn't cannon and it probably isn't so your point I'd obsolete

Another explanation for Kaiba's "disappearance" could be the ending of Dark Side of Dimensions, where Kaiba either goes back in time, or to the afterlife, to have a rematch with Atem, and he does this without a way back.

I think Zexal is cannon after 5ds, because at the beginning of the series, also the first cards that got on OCG/TCG some of those monsters have an effect that says “Cannot be used for Synchro Summoning”, also Kite Tenjo use a card called Overlay Regen, where Daigusto Emerald and Lavalval Chain appears, and as we know Laval and Gusto are archetypes that focus on Synchro and Xyz summoning, also Reginald Kastle uses a spell card that appears Trishula (not the Fusion version because Zexal was way before that card to appear). My theory is that between 5ds and Zexal something happened that the people after the Z-One event, people didn’t feel safe with Synchros and try to regulate the game, and in the meantime someone from the Barian world were sent to Earth, to help humans to create the Xyz summoning in order to fulfill their evil purposes and Astral was sent to avoid it, but fails and that could be a good reason why in the Astral world he wasn’t like “welcome” there, I also think that the Zexal series happened in another place Heartland City maybe is in another country or in another part of the same country.
I wanna see another Bonds of Beyond time movie for Yugioh all five duelests..

Maybe it'll be something like the 20th Anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh since Bonds Beyond Time was really just a 10th Anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh celebration. All we can do is just hope. But for now all we have are BBT and DSoD.

The new movie is a sequel to the manga. Anything that happens in the movie has no bearing on the show... well EXCEPT IF THE 4K Dub fucks up.

Personally I stopped watching YGO once it got to zexal, just wasn't the same. The original YGO will always have a place in my heart but I LOVED GX because it seemed fresh, lighthearted, and just had a lot of heart to it
The only cool thing about Zexal was Shark, the Barian boss monsters, and XYZ summoning. Everything else was wholly lackluster. 5D's was the last great Yugioh series and it pleases me that they gave 5D's an open-ended happy ending and created an entirely new timeline for zexal and co.

I suspect that the Synchro timeline is one in which Kaiba plays a greater influence on society where as XYZ timeline is on in which Yugi plays a greater influence. This is symbolized in part by a couple of factors. The synchro timeline places a heavy emphasis on technological advancement and class politics, which is very much in line with Kaiba's lifestyle. XYZ timeline places a greater emphasis on the magical influence in the form a number monsters and rank up magic. XYZ timeline also features a younger protagonist who pairs up with a magic spirit (who is tied to a totem/necklace) that acts as a strong and confident offset to the main character. Lets take a look at the monsters. The protagonists utilize strong dragons in the synchro timeline where many of Yuma's monsters reference Yugi's monsters in the form of Gagaga Magician and Gagaga Girl. Even the colors of the newly introduced extra deck cards align with the respective characters influence: White for Kaiba and Black for Yugi.

I do think that Synchro is in someway in Yugioh Zexal because the spell card Blustering Winds that Yuma uses shows a kakuri Synchro monsters and the motorcycle that Shark uses looks similar to Antinomy's duel runner.
I will state something that is a bit of a stretch that could also prove Synchros existing in Zexal, which is the fact that monsters can state in their card effects "cannot be used as Synchro material" and one of the cards I know was in Zexal was Blue Mountain Butterspy, used by Droite (Dextra in the Dub), and the card has the effect "cannot be used as synchro material" in it's effects
So it could be a sign Synchro does exist in Synchro and another thing is that the Vylon archetype exists, and that's mainly Synchros, although Vylon Disigma (the member that makes an appearence) is a Xyz monster

I have my own headcanon that eventually, Yusei realized that the only way to prevent Z-One’s horrific future was to completely erase the memory that his era (Yusei’s) ever existed from the collective populace of the world. When he did this, Domino City was destroyed. However, it was later rebuilt I’m gonna say (over a process of decades) and renamed “Heartland City”, thus explaining why there’s a spot in Heartland that looks like the place where Strings duelled Yami Yugi as well as why there are Duel Monsters from GX and DM but not 5D’s.
I also have a theory that Zarc did something that caused the universe to reset itself AGAIN after the end of Arc-V, thus explaining why Den City looks nothing like the increasingly futuristic cities of previous series

Maybe that is the part where the timeline branches, GX could still happen maybe as part of one of the branching timelines or as a part in history that can never change and the major consequences of Kaiba changing his future don't happen until after GX

The only way Kaiba still got his feets on the series and all stuff was just because he committed to his own tournament until the very last second (I know he got third but who cares about details). With this success he actually where able to hold his company's reputation so he could continue it. I actually can imagine that loosing to Ishizu might've caused him somewhat of another mind crush or any other trauma which caused him to quit for ever, while Ishizu then loosing to Melvin, giving him 2/3 god cards which allowed him to defeat Atem and basically reset everything. The shrine in Zexal could've been created by those few last followers of Atem's groups principia to honor them for all their effort (also considering iirc BEWD didn't got a statue there, which also would be a valid point since kaiba himself never really was a part of their, I just call them now "fan group of Atem"). Also due to winning against Atem, I assume Melvin where able to split up the OG world then into multiple dimensions we then got introduced to in Arc-V....just my two cents tho..

Just a note that duel monsters lasted at least 4 years. In the final season when the pharaoh goes back to Egypt to find his memories, Tea mentions how they have been the pharaohs friend and supported him for the past 4 years.

I agree with ZeXal being canon to the Duel Monsters and GX continuity, but some people could say that Dragon Ball GT has references (and straight up appearances) to Red Ribbon from Dragon Ball and Cell from Dragon Ball Z just like how we got Dark Magician from DM and Neos from GX, but that doesn't make GT canon in the least.
Gogeta dragon ball gt isn't canon for many different reasons. Arc v is an official show. Gt was not created by Akira toriyama, and as such had no manga counter-part. This was later confirmed to not be canon when battle of gods came out, followed by resurrection of f. and then finally dragon ball super. Saying it has references to dragonball and dragonball z makes it canon is really lazy because it was meant to be a sequel to dragonball z at the time, so of course in its continuity it would have references. It takes place in an alternate reality. Arc v is designed like any other season of yugioh, it's meant to continue the story in someway or another. A better comparison you could have made would have been arc v to digimon xros Wars since xros Wars is accepted by fans to be a different continuity, but I digress
Actually, GT has been established by Toriyama to be somewhat canonical. Obviously, it's not canon from Super, but it is treated as a different timeline following Z.
Gogeta what makes something canon is based off of one of two requirements, that it is 1) made by the original/approved continuing author, or that 2) the original/continuing author accepts and states it as canon. This is why DBGT is no longer canon, the ideas and story arc was approved by Toriyama and so then it was canon, then he stated it was no longer canon to the original series but rather a different universe of DragonBall.
canonicity with db really depends on the fans, I consider everything canon because of xenoverse, xenoverse shows something similar to hypertime from DC, but it's just my opinion and if we do ever see supreme kai of time in the show I think that'll cement that, and bringing her in might be a part of the plan considering the current arc and in xv2 we found out what makes tokitoki special, it could be a way to bring her in, just my opinion though

Your theory of the first three seasons’ timeline is extremely similar to mine that I use for my main YGO 5D’s fanfic, so this made me happy to see I was pretty close with my own theory. 😄
My theory about ZEXAL is the hometown/city where the main story takes place used some of KaibaCorp’s technology and replaced Solid Vision with AR, since the city in ZEXAL is not Domino City.
i believe that tech been growing so much faster. In the last movie 'The Dark Side Dimension' Kaiba was able to develope a dimentional tech which allow him to meet the Atem in his dimention. SO just imagine how far can tech can grow.

Really enjoyed the video as always. Something as controversial as the timeline is always going to cause a lot of discussion, so here is my take in it:
DM -> Gx -> Zexal and 5Ds (around the same time) -> Arc V
I belive that 5Ds and Zexal take place at more or less the same time but in different parts of the world.
First of all because Ritual monster don't appear in 5Ds, we know that a summoning method does not have to appear in a series for it to exist.
Furthermore, we now that Synchros do exist during Zexal because a Synchro monster appears in the art of Blustering Winds.
I say Zexal takes place in a different part of the world because of its different culture. Dueling styles, architecture ect. are all different. Setting it in a different location might seem like a convenient way to tie up any lose ends. But what makes this theory work is Crash Town from 5Ds. It is a place within travelling distance from neo domino city that has a completely different culture, dueling style and architecture.
When you consider Crash Town, a theme park esque city like Heartland seems very reasonable.
This also explains why no monster's from 5Ds appear in the Duel Lodge. The characters simply haven't become legends yet.
Then some time later the single timeline gets split in four dimensions and the events of Arc V take place.
That's just my take anyway, looking forward to seeing more videos in the new year!

There's only a Leo Corp because Zarc split the time line... I think that Zexal is a direct follow-up of 5Ds for the reason that you can see how much more advanced and integrated into society the dueling tech is. The reason that Zexal's future is very different from 5Ds is because Yusei managed to save humanity. I think Heartland City is what happens after the class systems in 5Ds are abolished due to Yusei's contributions to humanity. With a more united people and a new system they would no longer need Duel runners and altered reality dueling would no longer be so exclusive of a sport. After the Zexal story Zarc learns of some of the lost methods in dueling like synchro AND fusion (you forgot to mention there was no fusion in Zexal either) and he sets out to become the best prefessional duelist. Arc-V events happen and Zarc resets the time line so that he can have a chance to become a thing again. The reason there is Leo Corp is that Kaiba never takes over Kaiba Corp due to Leo (who is from the future!) putting out the technology that kept Kaiba Corp on the map first.
Here's a reason I believe Zexal is after 5D's and not an entirely different universe:
1) Leo says nothing about dueling tech or methods being taken from other dimensions.
2) Character designs (hair, clothing, and tattoos) in Zexal look the closest to those in the 5Ds universe.
3) When the universe splits it creates alternate 5Ds and GX worlds, but they are confirmed to be in the same time line in the movie (which is canon in my opinion because the antagonist is from the same 5Ds future ZONE is from). Why would it also create an alternate Zexal if it was not also on the same time line for that universe?
ikr i actually commented on the zarc event before Yuyas birth since in general, Yuya was created after Zarc was split into 4 different people in 4 different dimensions.Now as for the dimension of ZeXal and 5DS im unsure, uhm i do believe Zexal and 5ds are different but Arc V takes place in the dimension involving Yusei, i have no proof of this but the Don 1000 events may of been what caused Season 6 of yugioh as they mentioned a world a virtual reality system and we know that ZeXal used augmented reality.Also we forgot about the yugioh bonds beyond time event. where was Yuma in this? now see thats why i say Arc V and 5DS took place in the same timeline as the bonds beyond movie happened while ZeXal was still going on

It's because Jack, Crow, Alexis and so on got summoned from different timelines and different dimensions as far as I got told..never really watched Arc-V and barely watched Zexal due to the fact that the series started to suck worse than S1 GX...and that's something you willingly have to accomplish by force...

My theory is Yusei did stop Synchro from killing the world, refining Momentum all those years, giving everyone the safer alternative of a mechanic infused into the summoner, the DNA Double Helix of the universe, Xyz Summon. The DNA points come from Overlay Network visualization, many times the energy will spiral, akin to a Double Helix, especially with Kite's Neo Galaxy-Eyes.
2021 time traveler here, I stopped watching Duel Monsters after Battle City, once you started talking about "zero reverse" I realized for the first time how my parents felt when I tried to explain the original Yugioh to them, and given the age of this video I can only imagine what its like now. 8:08 How about ZEAL taking place decades later after 5D's? Yusei could have taken the warning from Z-ONE and reformed the energy production to establish a new kind of energy. Since Synchro Summoning is inherently tied to Momentum - which can be compared to nuclear energy in the real world - they also eradicated Synchros and everything attached to it to continue the new path of energy production.

DSoD is the catalyst you need. The battle between Kaiba and Atem. If seto lost then he was trapped in the afterlife with Atem leaving Mocuba being the new Kaiba for GX sake but after Mocuba's death Leo Corp comes in and stops MIDS from happening, erasing 5D's with Zexal.
From Duel Monsters to Zexal are connected by the same flowing timeline. However, Arc-V took place in a parallel universe where the protagonists of the previous serieses did not exist in this universe (Arc-V). In Arc-V, the previous protagonists have no existence.

We know this because Jack and Crow have no memory or recollection of Yusei and Edo/Aster actually started using D-heroes after he duelled Jaden for the first time. So, if that's the case, how come he never talks about Jaden, Sartorius, or even Zane.
AnimeBattles(Top10s) aster always used d heros, he just dueled jaden with a dummy deck he tossed together from the store.as for them not knowing, who knows what zarc did when he ressurected them, or from whatever timeline.
Aster always used E-Heroes before meeting Jaden. He's most famous for it but decides to use D-Heroes after it.
What's even more jarring is that Aster always proclaims his decks have sentimental value to him, as his dad designed it. We get no mention in Arc-V.
