Velcro Bike Pedals are Interesting...

- To combat my shinner problem, I tried something a little different...
I wanted to know if hook and loop/velcro on the pedals would work similarly to clipless pedals, so I built a prototype and went for a ride.
Let's see if they work!

why is this guy the most underrated dude
exactly wtf
probably cuz he still has only around 25 videos and the algorithm isn't working in his favor for some reasoj, but over time he'll grow a lot with this quality
maybe try something with strong magnets because they wont collect dirt and loose grip over time
+1 on the magnets
this was what i thought ! There are already "magpeds" on the market with different strenghts. I don´t know why nobody tried these for trials riding...
@@Drookz1 these would have to be some weird magnets though in order not to hinder up/down movement as is the case with plain pinned pedals
@@Drookz1 I find magpeds to be great for trials stuff on my Enduro. Ive had em for like a year now, theyre great.
Oh you should try strong magnets wrapped in fabric next!
Liken ist Pflicht! Erst recht beim einzigen RUclipsr der Werbung nach dem Content einbaut, dann überspringt man das Ganze auch nicht immer gleich!
It's Just cause you are doing natural trial with à street in the wood 😅.
Must be à indoor solution....
There could be something in interlocking rubber patterns. One pattern on a shoe, other on the pedal. You could take some shoe that has fairly deep and uniform pattern and CNC out negative of that pattern on piece of hard rubber, something like nitrile.
Yes, that's an interesting idea! I've thought about the same thing and wondered whether there are types of rubber that still grip each other well when they're wet.
so creative and brilliant.... curiosity and what if's...
Good Video! ✌️
Great video! I really like your editing
Ended up in the hospital from a shinner yesterday. Almost needed stitches for a massive gash. Maybe I need these
I FEEL ya pain 😲😢
I have a pair of odyssey black widow pedals in black and purple.
They took my left shin down to the bone. I had an open wound for weeks.
Nice concept. But all the fluff and lint 🤣
Did you have to deliberately shin yourself in the first clip??
Yes, that was in the bunny-hop video, haha.
bro... the floor is lava editing is impressive!
Liked, commented and subscribed :)
Can you make a vide with your brother were you ride together
Top irmão! Obrigado pela dica!!!!!
what if you tried a decent pair of magnets
How about using strong magnet?
Awesome vid as per usual bud 🤜
which knee- and shinguards do you use? searching for some which fit under long pants like yours. thanks
I'm using the "POC vpd 2.0 long knee"
Interesting 🤓
You use the cloth to plastic Velcro. Did you try the mounting Velcro. All plastic and it good. Locking like.
I thought about trying it, but after I tested the normal stuff and saw how quickly that wears, I didn't see a point in trying it.
@@TheUselessTrials yeah the plastic mounting tape is like locking Velcro it hold mics up and things.
Sehr gutes Video👍
You should try 3M dual lock reclosable fassener. It's like velcro but made of interlocking mushrooms rather than hooks. It's much less prone to fouling than velcro... Though it still probably won't work that long. 🙂
I actually had some of it lying around, but decided against trying it because of how fast the normal stuff wore. 😀
Another great idea Max! Have you ever seen dual lock velcro? Both sides are the same, its stronger and it seems less likely to collect debris. Check it out might work for you! Great video man keep up the great content👍
Thanks, mate! I had bought some of it for the video, but didn't use it because the normal stuff worked so well.
In Ireland, a shinner is a paramilitary freedom fighter, or terrorist depending who you ask.
Oops :D
probiers mit flextape
:D
Yeeezzz hes back
why not just buy "clipless shoes" like almost every Road or mountainbike these days?
if you get some "Crankbrothers" pedals and "5" Shoes then it kind feels normals.
big skater shoesbut tight, sticks to your feet aand it breaks away on crashes. no real risk of breaking an ankle
I only want to stop lateral movement/sliding of my feet. I wanna be able to bail mid-air without having to crash first. And don't wanna to jerk my bike by detaching my feet while in the air.
