All are great excercises if you haven’t let TOS get out of hand. Although, I don’t agree with stretching the scalenes. Strengthening the scalene muscles seem to be more effective.

It usually will have pain that is down one arm either as numbness/tingling sensation and/or blood supply related symptoms (pallor, discoloration, heaviness of arm), etc. Upper back tingling/numbness is not as common as arm but there is potential for there to also be discomfort in neck, shoulder, and/or shoulder blade.
Man I've been weightlifting since I was 18, 2 years ago I was getting numb fingers, neck pain headaches and my arms were tired when raised. Read about tos an thought nah I dont have that lol got an xray they told me I have bilateral cervical ribs got a mri and it wasn't showing any pinched nerves my doctor says I have a Mechanical problem in my neck I don't think she has a clue tbh. I'm still having symptoms but not as bad since I started doing exercises I seen online. Could it be pec minor syndrome?

There are like four or five high-level specialists in the world that perform the surgeries, so if you get to that point, move heaven and earth to get in network with them. Yes ...I have had rib and sternum issues for yeats, and more recently (over the last 3 years or so) have been dealing with TOS. Exercises are tricky, as is most any physical activity that involves lifting more than 10 pounds.
Dude, started w minor posterior shoulder pain/mid-upper thoracic behind my right scapula. Huge knot that never went away. Supinated external rotation w bands are my best friend. Subbed...

Hi! I tend to often wake up with a tightness on the right side of my neck all of my scaling‘s and both above and below my right collarbone. I also noticed that my right collarbone sits a little higher than my left one. Could this have anything to do with my back or my scapula? I noticed that my right scapula pops and grind sometimes when doing exercises that involve the arm going forward and backward.

I've been having oain in the right trapezius area between neck and shoulder closer to neck ever since I hit my head on a low cieling. Doctor haven't been able to help me. I feel poping in side of my neck all the way going up to behind my eyes what do you advice I do

These exercises made me so much worse and then today i found out i have venous thoracic outlet sydrome . When they manourverd my arm the venous US showed full occlusion. I was hoping would be neurogenic tos and fixed with physio but since my autonomic dysfunction is worsening and now seeing its VTOS i need surgery. Am scared shitless as have so many widespread issues and autonmic autonmic dysfunction may complicate surgery.
What if I am dealing with Tietze Syndrome as well as Thoracic Outlet Syndrome? The rib pain makes exercises very difficult. I end up in a lot of pain for days or even weeks. :(

@@ThePrehabGuys I do have a very knowledgeable chiropractor and when I can see her on a weekly basis, my symptoms lessen to a good degree. But I really want to maintain more functionality and be active again. Just to be able to take care of my house without having to be careful of lifting too much the wrong way (over 10lbs) would be amazing. I did some garden work (pulling weeds) and messed myself up for days.
Hi guys, I have been searching for my condition and I am sure I have this. I have been a sewing machinist for years and my arm was repeatedly go over to reach for items I was sewing. But my right hand side space in-between my collar bone and top rib is a lot smaller than my left and it seems my collar bone is thicker than the left. I have too much tightness, restrictions and deep aches, do you think these excercises would help and would I just need to excercise the right side only. Thank you
Perminder, thank you so much for reaching out! Often times, we can see a bit of a discrepancy in shoulder height based on one hand being more dominant than the other. With you sewing and using one side more than the other this can cause some asymmetries and some aches and pain! So sorry to hear you have been dealing with this! You may just need a different entry point and a good examination will help reveal what your baseline tolerance is to certain movements and how to build up - we recommend seeing a physical therapist! I've had TOS for 10 years. Several of these exercises are absolutely TERRIBLE suggestions. Don't press on the pec minor on the doorway, And don't do the towel thing. AND if you have pain and tingling, that's not normal and not encouraged with TOS. That means you're irritating the nerves.
You dont even give reasons why you just talk bullshit. The towel Ex is great bbecause it braces the scalen down as well as the sternocleidomastoid and allows you to stretch it. 2 neck muscles which get highly innervated and TIGHT due to TOS. It also allows you to immobilize and lower the 1st rib which has a myriad of problems wis TOS. If you have had TOS for 10 fkn years you must be shit at fixing it.
Yes when i do it symptoms worsen but from some testimony from people that's normal you have to stick with it and eventually the symptoms will lesson. But yes gentle stretches
