Pretty damn close. Justin and his brother had just finished watching Inglorious B*stards and got stoned and went for a walk on Christmas night in Wisconsin. They were taken that there were no cars and they were alone with nature, Holocene is of course the current geological epoch we are in, it has shaped all of the landscape that humans have lived around for the last 11,000 years, so yes, it is about nature!
Hey great reaction. It's one that Bon Iver fans are very familiar with. The song you must react to is their song "Beth/Rest live from Austin City Limits". Transformative song.
this is just so great ... I remember stumbling across bon iver by chance in 2008 or 2009. justin vernon had just released his first album and I had read the story of how he went into the woods to cope with illness and the loss of his band for a whole winter and how he recorded his first album as a result of this hibernation. I bought the album and went to see bon iver on their first tour in 2009 in a small venue in Germany, and ever since, their music has had a profound impact on my life, just by how good and sincere it is. If you haven't already, you should check out "skinny love" and "Blood bank", both truly beautiful songs. Keep it up and best of luck!
Very enchanting song. One of the few songs that could make me cry. (Yet I have no idea what 90% of the lyrics are). The other song that makes me potentially cry is Traffic’s ‘The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys.’
It's about realising how insignificant and yet meaningful in the grand scheme of things. The lyric " at once I knew I was not magnificent" gives it away. Also, the title Holocene which indicates a geographical length of time. In the vast eternity of time, what is a mortal man?
lovely floating song. I'm missing out a bit of character in this one. You may wanna check out Fink 'perfect darkness' to see what I mean by character. It's got more structure and depth to it while being a floating tune at the same time. but very nice choice, I will certainly check their other stuff. love the singing voice- like a Michael McDonald vibe to it.
Hi guys Heard you mention radio head l would love to hear fake plastic trees by them and thanks for your good wishes cos l have not had a good week love you both Muriel😉.
I'd like to see y'all do 29 Strafford Apts. That was my first Bon Iver song. I remember thinking that it was either genius or trash (that first time), lol. I wasn't sure, but I am sure glad I gave it another listen bc not only did I find it to be genius, but it is part of my favorite album I've ever listened to to this day. Anyways, I'll be waiting. If you get that one in, I'd love to provide another suggestion or two. Great reaction👍
Great reaction. You’re right. You do get lost in this song. As for recommendation… either Perth (which is on the same record) or Re:Stacks for me. A live version of Perth is around RUclips which is incredible
"And at once I knew, I was not magnificent"
I believe this song is about how amazing nature is.

“Bone-ee-VARE.” The name Bon Iver is based on the French bon hiver, meaning “good winter.” Happy Autumn, everyone!
Happy Autumn 🍂

Fab Thx Mynawone 😎
@@reactionextraction thank you. Not enough channels do Bon Iver reactions.
Get him to listen to the album "FOR EMMA FOR EVER AGO" by Bon Iver. It's a 10/10 album.
You forgot about the saxophone. That's what added the mood near the end.
Great reaction. You’re right. You do get lost in this song.

Good but too high pitched for me
