    If you don't want to/can't get this pallete - just get a small metal container with a magnet sheet and eyeshadow metal pans. Those metal pans are exactly the same thing as those for cosmetics.

      Thank you! They might not be as eyeshadow palettes don’t need protection from rust, but one always can try

      I’ve been making my own palettes from dollar store cosmetics for years. It’s a great idea sine they are compact and lightweight.

    I really hope they become available on other sites soon! I've always wanted to get an art toolkit palette but they are a bit too pricey for me and even pricier to ship where I live

      Yes, I think they’re something really new, as I couldn’t even find them on official Mungyo website and I haven’t seen them before - so hopefully they will me available in more places soon. And they also have smaller size similar to cardholder

    I use Matte waterproof sticker paper for my converted card holder palettes. I lay these inside the half pans for extra mixing space

    I discovered this Compuzzle palette on the German version of Gerstaecker. For now, they are sold out both in Netherland and Germany. Interstingly, I couldn't even find this box being listed on the official website of Mungyo, so I suppose it is a relatively new product. I hope they become more widely available soon.

    I absolutely would use this as a studio palette, I like the flatness and weight to it as well as the size of the wells. Perfect for anyone who prefer tube colours, and also good if you like to move from one spot to another to follow the light. Nice too that it has space for making washes, perfect for a bit larger art. I wonder if they became more available….

    I hope it becomes available in Canada soon. I have been looking at getting an Art Toolkit for ages but haven't wanted to commit to a palette that expensive without trying something similar to see if I like it.

    Interesting to see the weight comparisons of the different palettes. Wish we could get these in the U.S., I'd definitely be interested in the smaller version of the Compuzzle with the 4 mixing areas in the lid. Thanks for sharing!

    • @weekend_art
      @weekend_art  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! Agree, for me real mixing space in a lid is the best feature of those as well. I actually stuck magnet tape on my slim palette lid and I take additional mixing pans in my travel sketching bag to stick them to the lid when the palette is open

    • @jillbartos8893
      @jillbartos8893 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@weekend_art Good idea! I'll have to get some magnetic tape and try that with my ArtToolkit pocket palette. Although that might not work because it's not metal. I'll have to figure something out. Maybe I could still attach the extra mixing pans to magnetic tape so they stay together, then just set them in the lid that way.

    I have the fclub palette, about the same size as an A6 (a touch larger than the Art Toolkit folio), and a thick Muji card case - not the same as yours, mine has some depth to the lid side as well.
    I really want the Mungyo Compuzzle palette. It's quite heavy, but I mostly paint at home anyway - I just like the format a lot. I think just the pans could be useful for me, too, they look like they might be deeper than the pans I have for my fclub palettes.
    Mostly I'm just a sucker for different palette formats, and this format with magnetic pans especially, so I really hope I can find it somewhere that ships to Sweden (I know Jerry's Artarama in the US is getting them, but that'll be far too expensive).

    • @weekend_art
      @weekend_art  Месяц назад

      @@FaerieDust I was thinking about getting folio, but for me really the small size is enough. And Mungyo still sits in a drawer not filled in yet. Do you paint larger pieces like A4 or more? I think for larger paintings and larger brushes it can be indeed good format

    • @FaerieDust
      @FaerieDust Месяц назад

      @weekend_art Honestly, I just paint A5 or smaller, never larger than a nr. 8 brush, but I like larger paint wells/pans (more surface area, not depth) and lots of mixing spaces so I prefer a slightly larger palette. If the Art Toolkit standard palette had divided mixing wells in the lid it'd be a better size for me - ideally I'd have something in an in-between size lol 😅
      But I mostly paint at home anyway, so the size isn't a big issue. If I painted more outdoors I'd probably find a way to make the smaller palettes work, too.

    • @FaerieDust
      @FaerieDust Месяц назад

      @weekend_art there's a smaller version of the Compuzzle palette, too, which fits four square mixing pans in the lid. That might be a better option for a portable palette, and it's good to be a bit lighter, too

      @@ourlinkzrelaxingmusic1219 great question! So the standard pan size is 30x15mm vs 26x13mm from art toolkit, meaning smallest square pan is 15x15mm, big square is 30x30mm, while mixing pans are 45x30mm and 60x30mm

    It will obviously be half as heavy if you take out the top tins in the top part. It is the metal inside that makes it heavy. Like seriously, why wouldn't you remove the 6 top trays on the lid and the little small tray sand then put it on the scale and weigh it and see how much it weighs??
