  • In our 24th tutorial on EPLAN Essentials, Uncle Kruno introduces an efficient and accurate way to calculate total power dissipation in EPLAN Pro Panel, revolutionizing cooling solutions for panel builders.
Traditionally, panel builders resort to Excel-based parts lists with safety margins, leading to overspending on larger cooling devices. However, Uncle Kruno demonstrates how EPLAN Pro Panel simplifies the process, identifying Hot Spots and providing insights into the optimal cooling solution without unnecessary expenses.
Moreover, for Rittal components from the Data Portal, the tutorial showcases an exclusive bonus feature - a visual representation of airflow directions, specific reserved areas, and optimally air-conditioned regions.
This invaluable tool ensures precise cooling management, enhancing the lifespan of industrial components. Don't miss this must-watch tutorial to transform your power dissipation and cooling solutions. That is fantastic, Kruno can you tell me, how to active the power dissipation item on the top ribbon because when I click on it the parts colour have not changed like your parts on mounting panel then when go to instance part ABB part what you showed and typed power then power dissipation came up, for me nothing is coming up. Maybe needs to go to setting. I do appreciate it if you kindly give me hints

      Hello Farhad.
If you use the power dissipation functionality and the color does not change its most likely one of two things:
      1) Missing Project Settings (Frequency, Sim Factor and Voltage needs to filled out)
      2) Missing Part Properties ( Max. power dissipation needs to be filled out)
      Hope this helps
      Best Regards
      Kruno

    Hi Uncle Kruno
I'm Struggeling a bit with the Power Dissipation Calculation feature you show here:
I have defined Air-condition field to be: 2
And added all needed values according to your video
But still when i try to use the calculation function, the Air-conditioning field does not show in the message box.
I have imported and created this cabinet myself from scratch, maybe something is missing?
I see that it works with a standard Rittal cabinet from Eplan Data Portal.
    Any tips?

What's about the power dissipation of the wires?

    • @UncleKruno
      @UncleKruno  Год назад

I used to have a mentor who said the power dissipation of wires is negligible, if you follow standards you shall have enough "air" in the wire-duct, as we discussed in this video:

Can we generate calculation report ?

Is there a way to enter a different voltage (i.e. Thermal design: Voltage ) not on the list? The highest is 460V, but what about non-US countries using 575 aka 600V? is there a solution pending or workaround available for now?

      Hello Sir.
Thank you for this question. As for now it does not look like you can select for the calculation any other than the predefined values.
If you are missing values, please contact your support team, they will ultimately guide you to a software wish form.
Feedbacks like yours are essential for the continuous improvement of our software.
      Best Regards
      Kruno

@@UncleKruno I found out this has nothing to do with the calculation but more to do with the Rittal equipment selection (and its operating voltage).

hi kruno, i would like to know how to enter the air flows, the areas reserved for the correct operation of the air conditioner and finally the optimal refrigeration area, because sometimes we use air conditioners that are not present in the data portal.

    • @UncleKruno
      @UncleKruno  11 месяцев назад +1

Hello Simone. Thank you for your question. The enhanced functionality of thermal design integration ( Optimally air conditioned area, air flow arrows and reserved areas) are exclusively available for RITTAL components from the Data Portal. There is unfortunately not a possibility to add this information manually on other parts.
      Best Regards
      Kruno

Hi Kruno, can you make a full tutorial from the scratch? Example a DOL Starter in 3D model.
Showing the assignment of the eletrical componets with symbols of the eletrical schematic.
Exhibiting the basics fundamentals and work principles for beginners.

Thank you for your request Joao.
I am working on a concept for a series of videos for beginners.
It will take some time to finish them though.
      Appreciate your support.
