It would be great to have a video on creating a user defined drilling pattern for a 3D macro created from an imported step file. Maybe something like a door mounted device.

Hi, I really appreciate you for sharing your knowledge with us. I watched almost all of your videos about EPLAN software; please make more videos. It is really useful and knowledgeable. Could you please answer my question? If we design one new box in 3D MODEL, but the box is found in the plan data portal and all the components that we use for our 3D layout, if the components aren't found in the data portal, could you please do one example for beginner and new user of EPLAN PRO PANEL, that how we design 3D MODEL FROM ZERO.???

Hi Kruno, big fan of your videos!
Do you have a guide on how to do a drilling pattern on a component such as a frequency converter or simililar?

Thanks for this video. But we would like to know more about creation of Drilling dimensions for the part which we usually create in part database and not available in Data Portal. ie. how to create the drilling pattern for the Device which is created from stp file not from the data portal database.

How do I export the resulting drill pattern back into my CAD software (AutoDesk Inventor) so that I can laser cut the plate that will hold all the electronics inside the enclosure?

      Good Day Sir.
      Thank you for your question.
If you are using AutoDesk Inventor , EPLAN has an Module called "Design Space Exchange" which would export the 3D File Information with the xml position of the cut outs, which you can import in Inventor.
      Best Wishes

@@UncleKruno I read the article on the EPLAN website about Design Space Exchange. It said that we would need an Add-in for the mechanical CAD system to read the XML.
How do I find that Add-In? Or am I way off target?
Has anyone done any cool tutorial videos on this?
      Thanks!

@@christopherbray598 The Design Space Exchange is an Add-On that can be purchased if you have Pro Panel Professional as your base license.
I don't believe that there is an video regarding DSE on RUclips, if you live in the USA reach out to me on LinkedIn ill send you more information.

Hello Kruno, I'm currently creating my drilldown view, but my cutout legend table is getting the coordinates of the bottom left corner of the enclosure in all views. I've tried updating my Base Point to another location in the model, I've tried adding a Handle, work with the Field Size and moving the Axis to another location, but Eplan is still going from the bottom left corner. Is there a way to change this? The reason is that I want to disregard the thickness of the casing in the cutouts. Thanks for your videos!

      Hello Sir.
Thank you for this very good question. I Encountered it a few times recently.
Unfortunately i was not able to find a solution.
My recommendation for you would be to please create a EPLAN Support Ticket, and fill a Software wish form :)
      Good Luck
      Kruno

Hello, nice video looks simple and easy to do. Does this work with any type of E-plan licens, or is this only with eg. Pro panel Profesional ?

      Thank you for your feedback.
In order to use this functionality you need the Pro Panel Professional License (Add-On or Stand alone)

I can not see drilling view when I creat mounting panel by import file 3D step. Can you help me to display drilling point when mounting panel created by step file, thanks!!!

Please check if the mounting surface has a "field size" defined. In the layout space navigator select the mounting panel and click right mouse click on the mounting surface. The Field Size needs to be defined (green)
