So as far as the “Bond being poisoned” you have to remember was that it was engineered to spread through touch. So even if HE never could touch her and he tried to wait out a cure, what if he touched someone else who touched someone else etc etc until it eventually got to his daughter and killed her. Remember the prison scene with Blofeld? She barely brushed his hand and he transmitted it to him and then he died within a minute. THATS the reason he let himself die. To have no risk. He didn’t touch anyone else after getting scratched with it. So he took the safe route and just made sure he was destroyed.
The "venom" were nanobots, right? Why they thought of machineguns from a car lights and not a simple EMP device to kill these bots? Everything electric would have been fried and they were so tiny to probably cause almost 0 dmg to the body if that were the case. Also if bots were made, they could make other bots to kill the previous ones... heck, even make them fail because of a Windows 11 installation blocked from the lacking of a TPM would have worked. But i guess they had to have an excuse to end a character. Now we should legit not have ANY future James Bond protagonists and that makes me go crazy, 007 alwais were James Bond.
Pretty much this, the virus was engineered to pass through non-targets harmlessly until it reached its target, so Bond would basically have to isolate himself from everybody to protect his daughter
@@Ch35h1r3C47 Joe didn't fail to understand it. He understood his mistake, and what he meant was "oh, yeah, of course she's British, since they're all British (and I guess he meant the MI6 agents)". And Alex wasn't disappointed, he just smirked on Joe's comment.
I remember as a kid watching old Bond movies that my dad recorded on vhs. But ''my Bond'' was Pierce Brosnan. Golden Eye and Tomorrow Never Dies were the ones I liked back then. Had some good games on consoles, Playstation 1 there was a Tomorrow Never Dies game and on PS2 I remember Nightfire and Everything or Nothing were fun. Ah good times.
Yea I was introduced to James bond with tomorrow never lies. Goldeneye was his best one. But I bought the whole blu ray collection and Sean Connery is the best bond. Goldfinger is a classic

One of the things my grandpa really loves is James Bond movies. He’s getting older now and I don’t know when the next Bond film will happen or if would be alive to see it, but it was nice to go see this movie where they send off Bond. All the lines about “time” and knowing one day my grandpa will pass and not be there with me for the next Bond film made me tear up a bit. I loved it for that.
Ya same with my dad. He loves James Bond. I was named after his favorite Bond Sean Connery. Would watch all the Bonds together. Not sure he will be around for the next one. Time sucks lol.
@@seanguinn Interesting thing though, how time comes for us all and yet characters like Bond will be around for longer than we will… My 83 year old father was around to watch every single one in theaters, I’ve watched them all too, and now my 16 year old brother is getting into it himself, Craig has been Bond for his entire lifetime. Same will probably happen with whoever is next for the newer generation, maybe one day we will be our fathers’ age and Bond will still be around for our grandkids to watch…
Same here, except it's my dad. Always watched them with him. My older brother as well but yeah time is a cruel mistress :/ glad you enjoyed it though. I have yet to see it.
My Dad who the biggest Bond fan in the world (literally named me after the character) left the theater speechless, all he could muster up was “I need a beer.” I think that perfectly sums up how I feel about this film.
It's the whole industry, not just this film, corrupted by identity politics. It's more than 5 years since I've been to the cinema . Not a penny to support this kind of travesty. They can f off and go broke I careless.
I figured the racist scene was there because A) It’s impossible to have a black character and not make it about race at least once B) People these days legit think that creating bio weapons, betraying your colleagues and friends and assisting terrorist organizations is less evil than being racist. The characters seem to think so as well, because she was making a huge deal about bringing him into MI6’s custody, but when he brought that up, it was suddenly not important to take him anymore.
This basically had the same plot as Hobbs and Shaw. Virus that can target specific DNA, hero reunites with family, final battle on a pacific island, hero teams up with another hero that they don't like but are friends with by the end.
I thought the movie was messy. Started out strong, loved the intro. Waltz was boba fetted. Third act was the fist thing that was kind of more consistent but still weak. Thanks for not praising it.
Amen. People forget Brosnan, as cool as he was had only 1 objectively good Bond film (I'm partial to The World is not enough) whereas both Dalton movies are great and set the blueprint that the Craig films would follow with a cold blooded no nonsense Bond
License to kill was great too! Sanchez is one of the best bond villains and Pam Bouvier was an awesome bond girl! The tank chase at the end was really great, one of the best bond finales imo.
@@fastvalkary725 It’s also one of the surprisingly few where Bond actually does a lot of actual spy work, when he infiltrates Sanchez’ organization and slowly turns Sanchez against all of his own guys (except Benicio Del Toro, who blows his cover near the end). I maintain that the second hour of License to Kill is one of the best hours of any Bond film.
@@YankeeBlues21 exactly. Thank you. I liked Q being on the field too for a little while. It made sense for this film because bond was completely rogue and Q was just caring for his friend lol. Licence to kill is the most underrated bond film ever. Its one of the best.
@@creativename6126 There are lots of books. The Bond series of books was started in the early 1950s by author Ian Fleming. I think he wrote 14 books and several short stories. The Bond book series continued on with various authors over the years.
its hilarious how 1 new movie makes people believe it’s the law. no more anything. bond will be back with reboots etc etc. it’s just a story to see the inevitable because they decided to humanise the most unreal character on film. so thats done, now back to basics.
@@TheGoldenFigo Its clear you don't remember those movies. Most people who bitch about Timothy Dalton either never saw his films or don't remember them. Dalton understood the character of Bond more than any actor before him. Licence to Kill was ahead of its time in terms of tone and grittiness. Dalton and Craig were the most accurate and believable depictions of James Bond.
The part about Bond being able to go on isn't accurate. They mention in the film that Hercules can pass through people harmlessly until it reaches its intended target. So even if bond never saw his girlfriend and daughter, interacting with literally anyone else could potentially pass the virus to them.
The real James Bond would’ve just isolated himself until he found a cure or isolated himself period. He wouldn’t have just given up and committed suicide via missiles.
@@cardinalrule6810 But what we're trying to say is that is literally impossible. It's not just about touching somebody, the nanobots have become a part of his blood and biology. For example even when he washes his hands the sink water will likely carry his skin cells which have become coated by nanobots into the water supply thus ending up who knows where. The bots were farmed in water so we know they can survive intense circumstances. You claim Bond can just live a solitary life, fine, but there is literally no way to physically exist on Earth without having some part of you spread. It's definitely weird to think about but that's kind of what makes this movie "sci-fi".
@@greenjelloe418 That's why the Heracles weapon is the most preposterous/powerful weapon ever introduced in the history of James Bond films. But if there's a way to beat it, James Bond will find it. That's why he's James Bond. I refuse to accept that he would commit suicide. I liked Craig as Bond but I'm surprised that he would agree to let his character go out this way. It was not a good sendoff. It did not have an emotional impact on me. It just left me confused, annoyed, and scratching my head. Not nearly as bad as what The Last Jedi did with Luke Skywalker but still bad enough to leave a sour taste in my mouth. The main character doesn't always have to die to create emotional profundity.
@@cardinalrule6810 Valid criticisms. I just think the biggest issue in the public discourse right now is that some people aren't fully comprehending the power of Heracles but admittedly the film didn't do the best job at getting that across. And as far as the emotional impact goes, it appears to me that the younger audience responded more positively to the ending than the older folk, in general. I myself am in my 20's and really enjoyed the film and it's ending. Maybe to us Bond is more of a paternal type figure than a "cool guy". Or maybe I'm overanalyzing. Anyway I appreciate your measured response lol.
Rich Evans: How does it feel to have live long enough to see all your favorite franchises go down in flames? Mike Stoklasa: Feels great. Rich Evans: HAHAHA
the ironic thing here - is that us Bond fans have watched the series go down in flames numerous times - just to come back again and again.. people thought Bond was done after Connery left.. OHMSS disappointed audiences and critics upon release - Lazenby quit... Connery comes back for DAF, only does 1 and leaves... no way it could ever continue..... in comes Moore... Moonraker came out - financially a success - critically, a mess... then by the time Moore at age 57 does A View To A Kill, Bond is "old hat" - it's become passe' - and even Dalton couldn't escape those sentiments..... 1995 - here comes Brosnan and Goldeneye.... then Die Another Day happened............................................... which begot Casino Royale.... the beauty of this franchise is that it continually reinvents itself..
I really liked No Time to Die. Even though the ending is very sad and not what I wanted, that doesn't make it a bad film. 8/10 for me and legit made me sad at the end

@@0Tweaky0 Well, the whole point of that film was how they could make him rely on as few gadgets as possible, so we can see what he does on his own. We see the Aston Martin being fully equipped this time around though.
Funfact, the forrest fight and that whole daughter introduction scene was filmed in Norway. I got really confused when they played Norwegian childrens TV for a second
Dalton's Bond was really good, much darker story lines as well, Roger Moore was my personal favourite but really all the actors have been great, I fear now that Bond will be dropped and it will just be 007 so God knows it may end up like Dr. Who where anything goes.
I will never like a single movie from Craig's "run". He as the actor has nothing to do with the Bond appearance, his movies are overly woke and shy of some good funny comebacks and some ladies' a-s-s spanking.
Baffles me that they wrote the female 007 as such an annoying character whilst they had Ana embodying the perfect "female Bond"... They actively chose to make Nomi unlikeable instead of a "female Bond" that people would wanna see more of!
@@lariosmendoza Look when you are excessively criticizing a movie that majority of people seem to have liked, it makes you a moron who doesn’t understand what they’re watching. You look like a fool defending this guy saying Ana de armas was the “only” good thing in the movie when there are many other positive aspects lmao
The villian was weak. But besides that, I loved it. Fukunagas visual style is awesome. There are only so many ways you can throw in an aging spy back into the fray, and I think the story was handled well. Especially considering the amount of times it was rewritten.
Are you fucking kidding me? This was one of the most convincing villains of the Bond films. Also, Bond's death makes sense. He had no way out. Him being scratched on the face with the virus or whatever it was, he would have killed his daughter.
In the films defense, to get the plot going, I can see the distrust Bond had for Swann initially. She said go to Vesper’s grave where there was a bomb. He fights SPECTRE agents and Primo (the guy with one eye) says that Madeline is a daughter of SPECTRE. Then she says she has something to tell him (implying she’s pregnant) but all the context Bond has is, shit is happening and only one person he thinks knows where they are. By process of elimination, he had to blame her.
That may be a first instict, but come on - he had 5 years to think about it. Spectre knew how he felt about Vesper (his handling of White showed that rather well) - you think it would be complicated to have someone watch the grave/city and prepare a welcome (even if it takes years for him to arrive)?
@@icebough4191 I remember them reacting to the first trailer for this movie and they didn't know who Blofeld was lol, they're not the biggest fans of the series.
Also the fact that Vesper had betrayed him, of course he's going to be more defensive and jump to conclusions when it seems another one of his partners has betrayed him. It's a shame that they completely miss the whole set up and say "they love James Bond" without having any understanding of his character.
The poison passes through people like a normal virus (world events may ring a bell), but only harms them if they’re the provided DNA. If Bond left the island it is within the realm of possibility that it gets to his family. The use of nanobots was clearly an afterthought and shoehorned in after the events of the past 2 years though and as a result film does kind of fall apart.
I thought the movie was fucking dope. The action scenes and cinematography are top notch. Parts of the movie dragged, but I still enjoyed what I saw. Made me wish we had a 007 game.
SPOILERS: The ending was ridiculous, for a start James bond has an EMP watch which takes out anything electronic and James bond, who gets infected with electronic nano machines, could have easily disarmed them with his EMP watch. Also I really disliked the me too BS that's forced down your throat whenever they can get the opportunity. I watched this film yesterday and the awesome bits just get overshadowed by the god awful bits. It's not the worst bond film of all time but It is the worst bond ending of all time. I left the cinema feeling completely numb. My brain was struggling to process what I had just watched. I really felt wounded emotionally by the ending which has carried through to today where this emotion has just continued for me to feel quite sombre. I absolutely love bond and not only did he just die, but he died completely broken after finally getting a family and finding out that the child is actually his daughter. This is such a punch in the face and awful that this feels like a big swivel to the James Bond character and the fans. It's an absolute tragedy, he will never get the opportunity to get to know his child and have the family he always wanted. It just left me feeling empty. This may have effected me more as I have a 15 month old daughter. It made me feel the heartache that bond must have been feeling, by putting myself in his shoes and relating the situation to my wife and daughter and what he must be going through in that moment. It was just a tragic, unfair, deeply depressing disappointment. I'm half expecting this to be opened up to remove James Bond completely, in order for it to become 007 franchise instead. So that it can include women into being the main character. Poignantly being the death of James bond completely. I can really see this happening which will destroy the franchise entirely.
The agent who only had "3 weeks training" was a highlight and she really looked like she threw her kicks. It looked like believable action in comparison to something like Harley Quinn
She really did do those kicks. They were against stunt men. But she is the one kicking... There is some great behind the scene footage on it if you search youtube
I'm glad I'm not the only one with same exact opinion. It's a real shame, here's hoping we can get a new bond and it goes in a more traditional direction!
I think it all depends on whether the ending was impactful. It worked for me so I really enjoyed it. If that didn't for you, I can understand why people hate it. Probably explains why the film is so massively divisive
Watched Jeremy and Chris’ review first and was excited to see what the boys here had to say about it 😀. Have to say I’m genuinely surprised at this review, just like Alex’s reaction when Joe said he didn’t like it 😂. Totally respect your opinions on it though and fair points. I went to see this in IMAX on opening weekend with family and I really enjoyed it, personally I think it was a fitting end for Daniel Craig’s 5 film story arc that began with the unbeatable Casino Royale, which will be hard to top going forward. My biggest gripes were that I wish they made use of Blofeld more, and also I wish Madeleine came clean sooner. FYI, for those who did not realise, Madeleine did want to tell Bond about the child at first I think as when he pushed her on the train she touched her stomach as she looked at him. I defiantly felt the emotions at the end though, especially with Zimmers epic score building up 😢.
I'm trying to think back, was the virus anywhere else outside of the island at the end? I remember the conversation at the end about the virus being eliminated once and for all after they blow up the island. If Bond got out, even if he was in isolation, he would be a target as the virus would still be within him. He couldn't let that happen and needed it to be contained within the blast, plus the strong reason of not being able to touch Madaline and his child ever again.
Basically, Casino Royale and Skyfall are still the best from Craig's time as Bond. His films have been a rollercoaster ride of quality throughout this run.
I sincerely love this movie, I cried at the end. For me ending was very satisfyting and work for this Bond. The Craig movies have always been different from other Bonds, more connected between each others, Bond was the more affectionate tough guy instead of the playboy gentleman like his predecessors. Plus, these movies were a reboot and happened on a different timeline than Connery to Brosman. So this ending fits perfectly. If he said screw my family I will want live, i would be piss of, it could work for Brosman and Connery, but not for Craig, who's Bond want to stop live as spy and when he have occasion he would live agent live. Now the question is whether they will do another reboot or go back to the original timeline and do a semi-sequel to Brosman
@@Schinak well, if you're expecting oscar material from a Bond film you will be disappointed every time, I didn't expect much and felt satisfied compared with what's on nowadays

@@SuperMurray2009 oh… lol. Nah I’m just kidding, I never actually played it but I saw most of what happens in the game. Don’t listen to any negative reviews for this movie it’s great. And try to stay away from the spoilers.
Bond films are supposed to be fun. They’re supposed to make you laugh, cheer, and watch the hero be smarter and better than everyone and when you leave the theater, you should be grinning. Casino Royale was the last Bond film to understand this. Everything after got too personal with Bond. Casino Royale humanized the character appropriately but kept the cheekiness and humor. Everything after is just depressing and boring and I will never understand why Skyfall gets so much praise- that movie was dull as hell. GoldenEye and Casino are my two favorite Bond films because they knew how to balance Bond’s arrogance, humor and badassness just right. Martin Campbell directed both of those films and it blows my mind that he hasn’t been called back yet to do more.
Out of all the bonds out of all the years they have never killed Bond so why kill him this time just to make a statement I think along with other parts of this movie that I found kind of insulting to the original creators character.
Henry Cavil wouldn't suit the role. Other than being a well known actor who happens to be British. Just because you like an actor doesn't mean they would suit any role. Don't get me wrong, I like how he comes across as a person and I'd give a Bond movie with him in it a watch, but there are others who could fit the character better, no shade being thrown Cavil's way. I can see Idris in the role. The way he carries himself, I think would suit the role. I'd also happily see an unknown in the role as long as he fits the character.
Moment he died some of the old people got up and walked out right away. Can’t blame them. Bond is a character that is always supposed to get out of impossible situations he is put in. They really did him dirty.
I'm sure they'll go back to churning out standalone, recycled, low stakes Bond films at some point. There is obviously a big market for it judging by how many people have taken issue with the Craig era Bond.
Glad to see the comment section not changing their view on the movie just cause Joe didn’t like it. I loved the movie and think it’s one of the best send offs to Bond there could’ve been.
They should have done a Dark Knight Rises ending, Bond watches his wife and child from a far at a cafe in Matera. Not killing Bond is like an unwritten rule.
my mother is a big bond fan SHE likes the fact he is a charm guy who gets all the women HER WORDS, i could pretty much not care less she said after this movie this isnt bond this is a joke
Whatever, I thought it was great. Lots of easter eggs to the previous 24 Bond films and a very appropriate ending for not only Craigs run, but also the whole franchise pre-Amazon.
I respect Joe’s opinion, but I think he has bad taste. He thought the action in Mortal Kombat was well directed, but that the action here was serviceable?? GTFO with that bullshit. This was a great Bond movie with a fitting end to Daniel Craigs run. It played more into the traditional Bond character than Craig’s other films while still holding true to his interpretation. Anddddd this is the first Bond movie to really truly explore Bond’s vulnerable side. When he actually has time to let his love bloom and grow. I thought his relationship with Madeleine was the best and most well developed relationship Bond has had with any woman in a Bond movie. Period. Yea the villain’s motivations are a bit goofy and he comes out of nowhere, but Rami’s performance elevates the fuck out of it. For me it goes Casino Royale, Skyfall, No Time To Die, Spectre, and then Quantum of Solace. I think the top three are all the best Bond movies we’ve ever gotten. Daniel Craig is the GOAT.
Imagine a Superman movie where Lex Luthor dies almost as an afterthought, Wonder Woman drowns, and then Superman kills himself because Lois Lane suddenly is made out of kryptonite. Yeah, that's totally a Superman movie I'd watch... 🙄
@Numpteez But in this case, I think it's an apt comparison. There are so many ways this movie could've been better--they had the ingredients. Killing everyone off was the cop-out, lazy option. I'm definitely not going to stop espousing that.
The Rock has literally nothing to do with a Bond movie... I don't know why people seeing a youtube video about "the Rock is a James Bond movie" and praising that point trough the whole internet
Took the words right out of my mouth. On Her Majesty's Secret Service was easily top 3 in the entire franchise, IMO. Could Connery have done it justice? Absolutely. Does it matter? No. I grew up watching all the movies multiple times over. I even own them on Blu Ray. The consensus amongst older fans tends to concur. It was a more serious and grounded movie by contrast to a lot of the others. Bond isn't supposed to be overly lighthearted and campy. Leave it to the Roger Moore movies to water down people's standards of what the character should be. Were those movies fun? Yes. But they weren't representative of the source material. Bond in the novels was supposed to be more serious and cold-blooded than witty. He was a suave womanizer for sure, but also ruthless when he had to be. As such, I'm putting No Time To Die in the top ten. Not sure where exactly, but it did what it needed to do for me: Make me pay attention and actually care about Bond. I feel Joe, OJ, and AJ have grown up spoiled by the Moore and even Connery era films, and expect each new one to be just as tropey and formulaic. The fact that No Time To Die was so unpredictable and somber in tone to me was a welcome change of pace, especially knowing that it was the last in the storyline. You went in wanting some finality, and we got it. It took the task seriously. The older movies always felt self-contained, with very little continuity between them. The Craig films actually tie directly together to form a coherent narrative saga with a clear beginning and end. I fully expect the next movie to be another full reboot. That leaves a blank canvas for the producers to mold the character however they want. We'll see which direction they choose, but I personally don't expect him to become super goofy ever again. That ship has long since sailed. 21st Century audiences clearly want depth to the character, or else Die Another Day would've been a massive success. Craig before this movie was #4 on my list of favorite Bond Actors. He moved up a spot after this one. He was the modern Tim Dalton as far as his take on Bond: Brooding, vulnerable, and dangerous with just enough charm to be adaptable as a spy. People in the 80's thought just like Joe, wanting the cheery cliches. Brosnan was the response to that, and that charm wore off over the years. You're entitled to your opinions, but I say it's time to evolve, boys. Bond did, fifteen years ago.
@@BoricuaBoy88 Excellent comment. I've not seen No Time To Die yet, but I've liked Craig's Bond, even Quantum of Solace, and I'm looking forward to enjoying his finale. I don't have an issue with Joe's review, counting the action sequences shows you exactly what he is looking for in movies... and that's fine.
I mean this Bond film makes so many references to OHMSS. From the quote “We have all the time in the world.” to the subtle music of the OHMSS’s theme, to Madeline resembling Tracy (who was the Bond girl in OHMSS and Bond’s wife). Hell it even finishes with Louis Armstrong’s We Have All The Time In The World in the end credits (which OMHSS also played). OMHSS was one of the best classic Bond films because compared to the Sean Connery films, it was actually a bit more mature and it ended at a very powerful and heartbreaking note.
@@MarioBario for a movie review yeah. For the other stuff like games sure there's ones I don't agree. But he generally likes alot of the same movies I do.
The killing of Madeleine's mother makes no sense either. It's said two times in Spectre Mr. White had divorced. Also... Mr White killing a family? Mr White who left Spectre because of Blofeld killing women and children, Mr White?
I’m glad that I’m not the only one that thought this movie did a disservice to Daniel Craig’s James Bond, and frankly felt shoehorned and didn’t need to exist.
Misses The Mark in a big way-The filmmakers seem to think that the only way they can make the female protagonist look good is to make Bond look like a fool who can't make wise decisions or shoot and fight with any kind of skill anymore. It wants to be like the classic On Her Majesty's Secret Service but literally misses the mark because of its patchwork quilt composition of set pieces and the underlying propaganda.
I was so excited to hear that EON had finally gotten the rights back to use "Sceptre" from Thunderball before 2015. Even though the movie Sceptre was messy, I was happy to know that Blofeld would be back, opening the door to an arch-nemesis. Which was great because in this film, they killed him and the organization off after 1 1/2 uses. Fantastic! Oh, and blow up Bond on your way out the door. Great! Now we're back to square one... stop trying to make a Bond canon. All the Bond films barely mention any connection to each other. They are fun romp, one-offs, with very little or loose connection to each other. James Bond films just can't work on strict continuity, unless you do a period piece on a spy named James Bond during the cold war period and you make it a Netflix series. That's the only way what they're trying to force into a strict canon would actually work.
Maybe a more serious take on the Ian Fleming stories like Casino Royale. We haven't seen the original no-nonsense Moonraker with Drax being a defense contractor who builds a nuclear missile for England, but is secretely planning to nuke London with the help of the russians. Or The Man with the Golden Gun in which James Bond is brainwashed by russians to kill M and sent to kill cuban assassin Scaramanga as a punishment, who also happens to work for Russia to destabilize the region.
The first movie turned the mc of the series into a traitor before killing him. Pissed me off big time. May be the only movie that survived such a derail of a classical character. This type of move kills franchises. Ask Disney.
Fully apart from the actual goodness or bad of the movie I feel AJ didn't even go into the idea of reviewing this movie fully. He admits not completely remembering the previous 1 or 2 last movies' details especially given the expanse of time between them so looks to Wiki? Isn't that instead of reading a book, or watching a movie(s), using Cliff's Notes/Spark Notes & half-assing it? By these three it sounds like this Bond movie is stale.
Glad I'm in alignment with Angry Joe. I left the theatre and also felt speechless. 1. Villain: the film actually has 2 villains, which dilutes the effect of the real villain, the poison guy. He's just a bad guy for being bad. 2. Side characters: too many side characters who doesn't really do much to the film. The female 007, the rookie female agent in the beginning, Q, M, another agent with a bold head, the secretary agent, the mad scientist, the daughter, too many side characters and it was messy. Many of them felt unimportant to the plot. 3. The daugher: so the villain kidnapped the daughter and James Bond actually yielded to the villain because of the hostage situation, and the villian guy just randomly decided to let the daugher go? Why? Not a qualified villain. 4.The garden with wield plantations: so in the centre of all the tall walls and thick concrete is nothing but a piece of land so they can plant some poisoning vegetables? I was literally speechless to see that there were 20 farmers pretending to work on in the garden seriously. It's just a garden, like any other gardens in your backyard that can grow crops. 5. The lab: literally speechless when seeing a lab made of swimming pool and diode tubes. 6. The nanorobot tech: so for most of the time the film was telling us it was designed for specifically targeting individuals, but in the ending part it showed us that the tech could cause mass massacres to the large population. So what exactly is the focus of the threat from that weapon? Such a tech is not exactly new as similar tech also appears in movies like GI Joe, or scientific novel such as Three Body. But it is important that the threat is clear, not contradictory.
For 6, it was originally designed that way for MI6 but the russian biochemist found a way to enhance it so it works on the family of targeted individuals. He tested it the first time in cuba at the spectre party where he wiped them all out, and then there is the scene of the funeral recording where the family members make contact with them and they get sick and die as well.
interesting, jeremy jahns said he liked the movie while angryjoe said he hated the movie, two very different perspectives and they are best friends, what a interesting oddity
The movie, overall, feels like a nearly 3 hour epilogue to Spectre. It feels like it’s just tying up the loose ends from that movie. The villain is also very forgettable and his motivations were very dull. If it wasn’t for Rami Malek’s great performance, he would have been the worst villain in the Daniel Craig saga.
Despite Malek's character being criminally underused I really liked the movie. For me the best scenes were the stairwell fight and Blofeld's interrogation, I feel he could've been a perfectly good villain for this one.
Daniel Craig is the Christian Bale of the Bond Franchise. His Bond films are The Dark Knight Trilogy of the franchise. Craig made Bond, dark, gritty and a believable character again. He brought the franchise back to it's roots. Just like Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan did with the Batman character. Casino Royale is the Bond version of Batman Begins. It gave fresh new life to the Bond Franchise, and brought it back from the goofiness and the over the top galore of Die Another Day. Just like Batman Begins did it after the backlash with Batman & Robin. Craig made the Bond films, dark, believable and realistic again. Also you could say that No Time to Die is the Bond version of The Dark Knight Rises. As Bond sacrifices himself to save the world just like Batman did it in The Dark Knight Rises. Both the Bond and Batman films have had a similar evolution in tone and depiction. By initially starting off as dark and gritty, then becoming camp and over the top. Then becoming dark, grounded, realistic and serious in tone again.
I quite liked that quick little scene where Bond was in that circular tunnel and he turns and fires at the camera just like in all the credit sequences, except no blood dripping down.
Just to point out to Angry Joe and crew, the bots pass through people until they get to their target, so even if bond had no contact, someone who he had contact with, who had contact with someone else, and so on until the bots reach their target. Too big a risk to take.
So Craig is getting Bronson’ed where a fantastic casting is overshadowed by some really dumb movies. Shame. Maybe we can get a fan edit fixing QoS, Spectre and NTtD
Joe's right on the money. The ending is a relentlessly sadistic escalating personal hell to torture Bond and by extension, us in the audience. Most went for escapist thrills and the fun of an action movie. Instead we got a Greek Tragedy level melodramatic wet blanket where we watch them give James Bond a family arbitrarily for the sole purposes of using them as a prop to artificially heighten the stakes without ever having developed any connection to them, then damn them to eternal physical separation with the films McGuffin of a DNA bioweapon that makes Bond a danger to the family neither of us even knows, but who we both wish for him to get to be with. Oh then he gets shot up pretty good and blown to hell by a barrage of Britain's own missiles. If there was ever a version of Bond you felt had been through enough hell and been humanized enough that they'd EARNED a happy ending, it is Craig's. They took pains to open his inner world up and let the audience connect with his pathos in a way that made him more sympathetic and vulnerable than the prior ones, whose drinking and womanizing came off as edgy attempts to create a rebellious bad boy sexy image for the character rather than emotional crutches or coping mechanisms for a man troubled and damaged by the nature of his job. And right when they could've given the us all the post-pandemic relief of a version of Bond we watched crawl through hell and felt for FINALLY get the happy ending that other iterations never got precisely because the point was to AVOID a finite ending? Right when they'd committed to writing a supposed final arc that had all the elements needed to do it... What'd they do? They threw us both through a meat grinder and dumped what was left into a freshly built circle of hell until we can't even blame Bond for standing there and welcoming a warhead blasting him into oblivion. Thanks guys. Just what the doctor ordered after a year and a half pandemic full of random, tragic death! MORE RANDOM TRAGIC DEATH.
Totally respect and get each ones of your opinions- even if we didn’t get the same reaction- I fricking loved this film- beginning to end- to me I rewatched the last 4 Craig films over the last week and already had a high hopes with everything from story arc to action to all the charecters carrying over from one film to the next.. I gave it a 9/10… the weird Indian Russian scientist guy was annoying and I agree rami really didn’t do too much… honestly was going to rate this a bit lower until they went that different route for the climax. I thought it was ballsy for them to send bond off that way/ and I don’t think it would have worked if we didn’t have the arc bond went through over 5 films- I will admit this was the first Craig film I saw at the theatre so that might have contributed
They’ve completely lost any of the charm and magic that made Bond films great to begin with. This is the legacy of nihilistic work filmmaking. It’s forced, jarring and empty.

I don't know man If I could pass throug covid without killing my elderly parents Bond could beat that shit withoud killing his daughter.
Let's hope Madeleine doesn't kill any people who happen to be far descendents of Blofeld's family then...

A) It’s impossible to have a black character and not make it about race at least once

For example even when he washes his hands the sink water will likely carry his skin cells which have become coated by nanobots into the water supply thus ending up who knows where. The bots were farmed in water so we know they can survive intense circumstances. He fights SPECTRE agents and Primo (the guy with one eye) says that Madeline is a daughter of SPECTRE. Then she says she has something to tell him (implying she’s pregnant) but all the context Bond has is, shit is happening and only one person he thinks knows where they are.
ME TOO DID THE SAME THING!!
@Pazvante Chioru Nice joke, if thats what you speak is true (which isn't) in that case M, Q, Tanner, Madeline and Mathilde should be dead at the end
@Pazvante Chioru tell me you didn't watch the film without telling me you didn't watch the film
@Pazvante Chioru pretty sure only like 1 white male main character died in this
This feels like they wanted to improve what Spectre failed to accomplish. For me, Skyfall should've been the Craig finale.
Basically, Casino Royale and Skyfall are still the best from Craig's time as Bond. His films have been a rollercoaster ride of quality throughout this run.

100% agree. Craig be undisputed #1 Bond if he ended it with skyfall

Exactly. Craig's Bond has always been closer to Fleming's original work. Not the Moore/Brosnan over the top campy stuff

@Numpteez But in this case, I think it's an apt comparison. There are so many ways this movie could've been better--they had the ingredients. Killing everyone off was the cop-out, lazy option. I'm definitely not going to stop espousing that.

I respect Alex' opinion on movies... but George Lazenby in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, is possibly one of the best portrayals of Bond.
I loved this movie. Perfect amount of fan service and it was interesting to see a more human bond in a more believable way

Why did bond reintroduce Madeline to Nomi in the island again when nomi and Madeline met during the interrogation of the leader of spectre
Plot holes

Well we still have Ethan Hunt and the Mission impossible team
The first movie turned the mc of the series into a traitor before killing him. Pissed me off big time.

Alex's face from 7:55-8:05- fkn priceless!! He stole the show as Lady D, but now he owned AJ ffs!
Joe, I feel like you are confused on what "plot hole" actually means.

Agreed. It was not an very good movie. Bad storytelling. They ledt alot on the table. Didnt like the villain either. No story about him what so ever.
Henry Cavil should be the next bond in my opinion
The only option
