  • While we were out exploring we found this out abandoned Amtrak passenger train and a tanker car. I don't know a whole lot about it but by the looks of the old tracks it's been sitting in the woods for several years. This was definitely one of my favorites. This was the first time I've ever stepped foot on a train. Please like, share, and subscribe. Thank you for watching

I once tattooed a guy( been a tattooist 47 years) who worked for the city of New York as an electrician. He and his crew were in some abandoned tunnels in Manhattan doing some work. My client saw a blocked off tunnel off to the side. He was curious so he removed all of the debris blocking the tunnel. He crawled through and found an abandoned train station. There was a steam locomotive from the 1800’s abandoned on the track. There were period newspapers on a bench, and other artifacts from that era like tools. He left it all there and reblocked the tunnel going in there.

he lied, that was a mix of multiple stories about multiple places. there are abandoned stations, but all are on subway lines. there are abandoned tunnels, but the one with the locomotive is known and hasn’t been explored due to politics: the engine has never been seen, just speculated as being there

It now belongs to the North Alabama Train Museum. They said they are leaving it there for future restoration but they have a long line of projects ahead of this one.

That Amtrak 6072 passenger car. I have the exact same passenger car. But in HO scale. Exact same paint scheme and ghost lettering of amtrak. Plus the same number also.

man, that place is completely over grown. I know what you mean by not wanting to step on snakes. I'm jelly, i wish i was use there filming this. abandoned trains or machineries are the best to film! but, yeah be careful as summer time is here.

Now that is a cool find! I've never been on a train either, except for the locomotive that circles a theme park in KC...
Neat to see a passenger car as well as the tanker car. Excellent explore, thanks for sharing! Stay safe out there! 👍😁

GATX is a rail car leasing company. I wonder if they know where that tank car is? You start watching trains go by and you'll start to notice GATX on a lot of rolling stock.
Those electric motors at the end of the last passenger carriage would bring a good price if they run or at the scrap yard too if they don't. You might want to pack a machete for your deep woods adventures.

Maybe you should go online and get in contact with the transportation agency in our local government or our government. And find out about the railways and the train and cars that are sitting on the rail tracks. Where are you are at. Maybe it will get more information from them.

My guess is that these cars were owned by a heritage society at one point. They could have parked those cars on an abandon line, sitting them waiting for restoration. The society went bankrupt, and those cars were just left to rot. I've seen it before in 2 different states.

So what was supposed to be so disturbing? I was hoping you were going to find a body in one of the cars! Surprised that you did not come across any wasp or hornets nest. That would be a perfect environment for them.
