Yes, the cycle repeats! My Grandparent's house was clean, but clutter-y. LoL My mom is the exact opposite, she throws *everything* away. Most of the time, it belongs to someone else who still needs it. Me, I'm a weird combo. I clean and put everyone's belongings in a pile and we go through it together. I know how it feels to look for something and find out it's been thrown out.
I’m like you. I grew up in a cluttered house and as a kid used to be constantly cleaning. I am a neat freak in my own home. My older sister has been messy since she was a kid and continued that into adult life. My best friend grew up with a neat freak and says that’s the reason she’s not tidy as an adult. I think part of it is the environment you grow up with, and part of it is just inherent.

I grew up in a very cluttered house...like boarder line hoarding...lots of kids living there also and we were made to clean everyday even though there was still clutter and not doing your chores or not doing them "correctly" was a huge deal...it was weird ...the way I am now...cant let my kids clean because its not done right unless I do it and if I start to feel like Im surrounded by too much stuff I just start throwing things away Im in "I dont care what it is" mode... I've had to replace my birth certificate like four times 🤦♀

Decaf coffee and tea for later in the day is so nice. My son is a coffee guy no tea for him. After 4ish I’m like no regular for him he enjoys decaf. So do I, must try. Thank you for sharing that sugar free mocha cappuccino. I bought, my son’s and I tried and we LOVE ❤
I love my rice cooker.. never do rice on the stove anymore. And yes most rice cooker can do brown rice, in fact I mainly do brown rice these days because it’s so tasty with some added broth cube. It should have a brown rice option if it’s a real rice cooker. I have the Yum Asia Panda brand.

My husband and I came from cluttered homes. Our home is cluttered, BUT his gaming room and my makeup vanity are so organized. It’s like we put the time in the rooms we care about 😅😂

I've always taken "reheat only" to mean not to heat things in it for an extended period of time. Not sure if that's right or wrong, but I don't heat more than two minutes in plastic. I actually try to stick with glass if I'm doing more than 30 or 45 seconds.

My mom is a hoarder. As an adult my house is not spotless but not crazy messy either. Luckily my husband and I have the same level of clean we are comfortable with. The kids might grow out of the messy thing. Both my older kids are out of the house and they keep their apartments very clean and organized.
I grew up with a strict mom, and cleaning had to be done in a certain way. But at the same time, she had a really hard time letting things go. Full garage, full basement, full attic. that sort of thing. I like things to be lived in, but I don't have an issue getting rid of things. I like to be continuously donating. Unfortunately, my husband has hoarder tendencies. It's hard to keep him in check sometimes.
