My mom forced my twin sis and I to have a quince and I’m so grateful she did. At the time, I just didn’t understand the importance and meaning behind it. And we were shy so having all the attention on us seemed dreadful but it was the best and such a core memory (even now at 35)

And for the money info... what about a little info slip? For those who don't know the history of why girls have them, and what it means, and what to expect... that way it's a whole information sheet and not just "asking" for money...
I had a Quinceañera and the best part was the rehearsals for the dance. Getting together with my cousins and friends was awesome! The photo shoot was so cool as well. I’m 42 now and those are still one of my favorite memories. I’m Catholic but we didn’t do the whole mass and ceremony thing, all we did where the lipstick and heels tradition during the “show” portion and my grandmother led a prayer.

Have you looked into endometriosis? Talk to your gyno about it and they do an exploratory lap. That is the most reliable way to diagnose. Don’t let them tell you an ultra sound or ct will see it. It won’t!
This is what I came here to comment. Endometriosis could definitely be a cause of back pain
And your bad periods youve talked about. The amount of pain you seem to be in your first couple days of your period could be caused by endo.

Coarser coffee = larger coffee grounds - which means your coffee is going to pour quicker (usually resulting in less flavour and less crema).
Finer coffee = smaller coffee grounds which result in a slower pour which helps to create crema. This can result in a more flavourful coffee but it can also make your coffee taste bitter or burnt if it pours too slowly. (Coffee is like chocolate in the sense that it can burn).
You need to find a grind size that works for your coffee beans and it is usually different for each brand. Between 23 and 30 seconds is a good pour for coffee and your coffee should come out looking like a pint of beer (espresso and crema!)
To help with your coffee pour - tamp your coffee a lot harder. You were quite gentle. Squish and spin!
When I'm teaching people how to make coffee... I usually ask people to picture water running through a jar of sand (fine grounds) and a jar of marbles (coarse grounds).
Water is going to reach the bottom of the jar far quicker if it is full with marbles.
If you think of water running through coffee grounds for 10 seconds for one cup and for 30 seconds for another cup... which cup is going to taste more?

I’m Puerto Rican and I had a quince… we too are not catholic but we did go to church, so my mom had a ceremony where I had my best friends stand up with me and my best guy friend escorted me. My older sisters presented me with my “adult” Bible, my aunt gave me a necklace and then our pastor prayed over me, talked about what it means to be an adult Christian and then my parents gave me a ring committing myself to God. It sounds like a lot but it was super special… it was like a wedding, lol, but the focus was me committing my adult life to God and to being a woman.

I have had a lot of scans, including the CT with contrast and I do get warm, but they keep the room so cold that the technician wears a jacket. They also did warn me that you can feel the contrast in your ‘groin’ area.
Different scans all have different requirements, but I am not able to have caffeine for at least the day of the scan, and sometimes for 2 days before.
Just my experiences. 😊
They told me it would feel like I was peeing my pants which, I could’ve sworn to you I did from all that liquid.
Try an medium iced latte with oatmilk and 1-2 pumps of Carmel depending how sweet you like it and 1 pump of pumpkin spice, TRUST ME! SO GOOD! ❤

I’m the oldest of seven sisters and only my youngest sister had a quince, I didn’t want one, my dad worked two jobs so we couldn’t afford it. Only my youngest sister’s 4 daughters have had quinces. I have one daughter and she didn’t want a quince although we could afford to give her one she said she would rather invest in her dance lessons which were very expensive, 14 years of competitive dancing. It’s a very nice tradition and I love that my sister did all the traditional things a quince involves, she’s a practicing catholic. Can’t wait to see Nahlas quince😄❤️

Sarah! I have two hydro peak water bottles that I got from Marshall’s, and they’re great. I bought mine for around $20-$25CAD and they’ve lasted. My first one I’ve had for about 2 years and still keeps my water cold like it’s brand new

I remember my CT and I do remember the feeling of peeing. They found a cyst on my right ovary and I had it removed almost two years ago. I’m going through the long process of donating my kidney
My husband has been fighting kidney disease for about 8 years now, and is currently going thru the long process of getting on the list to get a kidney. You are doing a good thing!

Would love quince content when the time comes. My daughter wants to have one, she’s only 10 but the planning has to start now according to her 😂. My husband’s family is catholic but we are not. He’s no longer practicing. My MIL is basically like she can’t have one unless you have a mass and do the whole shebang. I would love to see how you handle everything. 😊

This past July we did a joint party for my daughter & niece. Quinceanera for my Daughter & Sweet 16 for my niece. It was a blast the girls loved it & we loved it. Plus it was half the price. We didn't do anything w the church just the party.
Usually if you want your guests to put a specific amount you put CONTRIBUTION with the amount on the invite.

Okay I'm glad you said the bland thing re: being raised in homes that were in disarray. This is exactly me. So simple, so minimalist and clutter drives me insane. I think it's because I grew up with so much clutter. Our home was clean but man, my mom filled every flat surface with candles and crap. hah. I hate candles today. :p

Happy Monday y’all! What has helped me was pelvic floor therapy, it’s life changing. I highly recommend it if you can find physical therapist who specializes in it and you can trust them.
Can you tell me what that consists of? I think I need that. Three babies and the last is only a year and a half and I'm literally peeing my pants on the daily😬😬
Sure! It’s basically physical therapy for your pelvis and all the muscles surrounding and within it. So they can give you stretches to do that aren’t just the usual exercises to tighten or loosen your muscles to help you have better control. It’s so empowering honestly. I struggled for a long time and had so much pain because my muscles were really too tight actually and the exercises I was given seriously helped so much and just having a great conversation with my physical therapist always helped too. I would recommend talking to your Obgyn and say you’d like to have a discussion about it and a referral. It also made my libido come back too.

My obgyn gave me a referral for pelvic PT over a year ago and I’m too nervous to go. I’m glad it helped you guys, I think this is the push I need to go 🙃

We usually put on the invitations something like "With all that we have, we have been truly blessed. Your presence and prayers are all that we request. But if you desire to give nonetheless, a monetary gift is one we suggest."
We put "we" instead of "I" for quinceañeras, because usually the invitation is made on behalf of the parents of the quinceañera 😊
I’m not trying to be in your business but I used to work at a urology clinic. We had some different issues come up. Not sure where your pain is and if it happens during certain things but if they asked about urinary issues, can they possibly refer you to a urologist? They would be able to look at kidney and bladder or a urogynecologist can look at all of that plus your woman parts too.

I live in central Illinois and Quinceañera invites (any invites) where monetary gifts are preferred, they will put a little pic/emoji of an envelope at the bottom of the invite so people know 😊
