Am flying out with CX Uk to HKG in October later this year in Premium Economy , am wondering in your opinion , am thinking of upgrading to business class using cash on our return back to the U.K. ? Would you recommend I upgrade to business class on the A350 or just stay in premium economy ?
depends on the price paid. I do have a review of the A350 business class so I hope you have watched that too. I personally have no problrm sleeping in both cabins, but westbound flights are generally longer and my standards is I do not pay more than 30 dollars an hour to upgrade, but I am extremely stingy and would say most folks think 50 is a better standard. all depends on how much you value sleep and the overall experience. I have flown business class many times and I would not cherish it as much.
How did you get one world emerald? Which airline is your main airline?
Alaska. it is very rewarding, but these years it is getting harder to maintain status, even with all those crazy cheap business class flights
Is it easy for bulkhead window seat 30K/30A to pass by the bulkhead alse?
easier than other rows. the seats recline a lot, so if you are at 31A and 30B reclines, you will have very little space to get out.

Lucky you! I am One World Emerald and have flown Cathay Pacific for years when I travel in asia. I received not a single complimentary upgrade ☹
I am so sorry! I may be an outlier though. because I probably have a station manager in Vietnam put something on my personal file after I had a pleasant chat with her. But Cathay still treats emeralds way better than other airlines!
@@beyounged It was all good, I never expect any complimentary upgrade from other one world partner. I agree, Cathay treats emeralds differently, so does Japan Airlines.

@@beyounged Wow I didn't expect them to upgrade elite members from other airlines!! Considering moving my status back to Alaska now!
@@hermanwan3392 do not expect it on other airlines, I have received it once from Japan Airlines and a handful from Cathay, but mostly it is because of these Asian airlines actually view you as loyal customers instead of cattle, as it has nothing to do with Alaska.
they only upgrade you when the flight in your ticketed cabin is overbooked
it is usually the case. and they overbook quite often, and I suspect I am always very high on the list to be upgraded. However, you can see that on the first leg which I was upgraded, premium economy cabin was not full.
