Great review, the sauna looks amazing & when Finnair were first taking deliveries of their A350s i flew on one of them on the first revenue service from Bangkok to Helsinki just amazing.
Young's resume is not completely empty. It's full of wonder and excitement.
Young is the Pearl of exception.
I'm glad that they flew the South Europe route instead of the north pole route for your flight.

the route depends on wind, I presume, and also it will be hard to divert if you fly near the Russian coast for 10 hours.

They serve you cold dinner probably because it's cold in Finland and there's also an energy crisis.
I actually come to this video because I like Finns.
The Finnish language may be as difficult as Cantonese for English speakers....
Actually the cold dinner was because E190 usually do not want to be equipped with an oven, so most meals on E190 is cold. Finnish is difficult, but not so much so for a Finnish airline!
A regular AY flyer here, I think they have a good quality-price ratio, hopefully they can soon return to Asia in full force again. The Business class you had is almost gone now, most of their widebody aircraft have the new cabin already, with rather unique AirLounge business seat. It's like a non-reclining sofa bed, some love it, some hate it :) Personally only tested it on a short-haul flight, liked it.
agreed. their value is unparalleled in Europe. before the pandemic and Ukranian conflict, their time value is also crazy good. I kinda like how the new cabin looks, it is a psych ward but in a good way haha.
You know Young, I think the early chaos experience, e.g. lounge, seat check-in, happened because this is in Germany.
It may be a little bit better if it's in Finland
Helsinki airport is extremely efficient. Frankfurt airport, on the other hand, is an absolute nightmare. I cannot believe how bad it was.

had the same at security barely managed to get on my gulf flight transfering from amsterdam
no idea how they run the operations there when the speed is literally slower than every other airport I have been to. A true disgrace.
My country's immigration authorities once said that they left many counters @ some checkpoints closed to "maintain order". Haven't figured out yet though how that's achieved
I'm with you, Young. I'm disappointed that no flight attendants form Helsinki to HK can speak Finnish.

They're not going to set up an office in HK. No way.
HK is notoriously easy to set up shop, and also taxes are low, so yeah, lots of old executive dudes from all corners there.

re: Menu ... as a vegetarian this is always my concern. do i use my few and precious points only to get a salad and desert in the flight? doesnt seem like great value in that respect.
some airports cater vegetarian and vegan meals like homeless shelters, I am not even joking. While a lot of airlines include a designed vegetarian dish in business class, Finnair is clearly not the case.
@@beyounged true. sometimes there is a vegetarian main dish available on the menu but not all airlines make the menu available before hand. I remember once I took a United flight from Chicago to Amsterdam and I had selected vegetarian meal- was basically given a salad and fruit. I mean, I try to eat healthy but come on lol
@@JaKi052 yeah they have no idea how to cater to vegans and vegetarians in western airlines. Nonstop Dan is vegan and his reviews have some of the worst foods I have seen. One banana for breakfast anyone?

it is limtied to half an hour haha. there is also a dedicated shower attendant
