I love this Game To death and it was one of the few games that i completed 100 but also one of the few that Made me almost rage quit. Those fucking challenges man...
So glad I stumbled upon your channel yesterday. Well-made, detailed reviews presented by a voice pleasant to listen to. This game was my jam back in the day, I've spent countless hours roaming Arkham City looking for challenges, easter eggs or just goons to beat up. By far my favorite installment in the series.
I don't know, on paper and even when you play it, it feels more satysfing than Asylum, but when you're finished you still think Asylum is better. That's my feeling for it.
@@xyzz8722 i know this comment was a year ago, but i just played asylum for the first time and finished it. I guess im missing the nostalgia element so i can say i honestly didnt really like it. But i appreciated it because it started the series and made it what it is now. In my opinion Knight is the best of the 3 because it took everything that made batman good and made it way better, except the boss fights. But i personally dont play batman for the boss fights really.
My most favorite game of the Arkham series by far. Completed it almost 4 times back in the day. Filled with so much love and details for Batman fans it is astonishing.
You don't have turned on nividia physical effects, there is no extra fog, particles (leaves, money, bricks, sparkles, even carpets are now physic objects) in your gameplay. They are very big upgrade in PC version over console and they boost immersion
@@farldiemanie8775 He dont have to turn it off, he only need to install legacy physx driver. I have same problem and its take 3 minutes to find solution on pc game wiki.
@@Gamingpastime64 For me it's been just instal legacy physic driver and everything works for start to finishwith all glory particles and fog. I take solution from B:AA and its work for me in AC.
Arkham Knight had way too much of the Batmobile and not enough Die Harding your way through vents, exploring and puzzle solving for my liking. I still had a good time with it, just not as much as I did with Asylum, City, and Origin, which is vastly underrated in my humble opinion :)
Does anyone know how to avoid accidentally punching the air and completely losing your combo for no reason because you were pointing at a *slightly* off angle? Are controllers better for that?
If you haven't activate FreeFlow, your attacks will only go as far as around arm's reach. With FreeFlow On, you can literally jump across the size of a classroom and hit the other guy. The more combos ( NumberX thing you see on the top left ) you have, the further Batman's attack can magically reach. You can always roll off once to nothing or through a person to reposition yourself without losing the combo counter. Cape Stun also help maintain the combo counter. Also, I played all Arkham series on PC, and I can tell you that, you can actually use the directional keys during combos to aim them manually instead of letting the game decides the target for you. Controller does not have any specific advantages, other than the analog stick.
Holy shit your right. A badass has a mission to complete in an abandoned city where violence is law. This bad ass gets help from others inside the city. AND TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE !!!
I liked the game, but the Riddler Trophy hunting I felt was an element that hampered the experience and made it quite cumbersome at times. Although optional, I think Rocksteady knew that OCD completionists were never just going to ignore them without getting the shakes. It wasn't so much the existence of the challenges that were the problem, it was the unnecessary amount of them, they could have cut them in half and made some of them less onerous. Although the battle system isn't everyone's cup of tea, I actually think it was very well done and has more depth to it than you first might think. For example, if you want to get the highest scores in the challenges, you cannot just button mash like in the story mode, you have to approach the fights with strategy and certain button combination moves become a must for certain foes. The game literally utilises every button on your controller. The only gripe I had with the battle system was that the game story battles could have been made more challenging and force you to have to play more tactically like the challenge modes. Lack of challenge was bit of an issue for me, they're a bit too easy. Apart from that, it was a solid game.
I'm split on whether I should get the Return to Arkham collection on PS4 or get them both for 4.99 each on GOG. I heard that the Return to Arkham collection is not as good, but the PC versions on GOG get some of those remasters anyway.
No idea if these have been fixed/patched but we already owned the originals so we reviewed them instead. www.loadthegame.com/2016/10/27/batman-return-arkham-suffers-performance-issues/ windowsreport.com/batman-return-to-arkham-issues/ www.reddit.com/r/BatmanArkham/comments/6bgk6i/does_batman_return_to_arkham_have_performance/?
I actually abandoned the game after I could not for the life of my finish the augmented reality trainings. I have no idea what made them so difficult for me, but the experience was infuriating. Oh, and I also didn't like blue-ball-trophies, which look like they may be obtained, but they just cannot be at the moment. After seeing the video I may give the game another chance, though.
Im thinking about getting arkham city on pc because of the low fps ps4 version on ps5 but i heard the pc port is bad and buggy on steam what should i do?
I’m about to purchase this version, I finally have a laptop strong enough, and I really hate the PS4 remaster. Not only is it ugly but the frame rate is awful
Alright, I will be happy to be 1st one to check out the newest Gaming PastTime video, especially the second best arkham game, behind.... Here comes a trigger, Batman Origins .. Yep..
Ahhh, he said the thing about feeling like you're Batman!
have to appreciate how deep your review went, you literally looked at nearly all possible aspects of the game
I love this Game To death and it was one of the few games that i completed 100 but also one of the few that Made me almost rage quit. Those fucking challenges man...
Same here, it's the only game of all the Arkham games were i was motivated to get all the Riddler trophys ..

Didn't like the level/map design as much as Asylum, but still a great game.

Actually, the PCGamingWiki page does recommend installing or disabling PhysX to resolve the crashing during the intro cutscene.

You can see Arkham Asylum on it's own island in the distance, which is cool. A throwback to the first game.
I'd argue and say this game is miles superior over Arkham Knight in terms of story and side missions.
RacerC45 and I’d agree with you
Most would agree, city's story was unique and compelling. Knight's was cliche and melodramatic

Ryan Fanstone woah! Someone got sensitive
Dragon King lol

100% I always play with a controller

My personal favorite licensed comic book games. And one of my favorite licensed games in general. Right up there with AvP2 and Terminator Resistance
Is it weird this game reminds me of Escape from New York?

Freeflow combat is simplistic?
I wouldn't say the fights are very difficult. Keeping the multiplier going is a different story.
I've played the remastered versions on Xbox One and I have not encountered any issues. Yet.
I love Asylum better because it have better atmosphere, world design, story, enemy design, Arkham city have better combat, and boss fight

Without the "Batman: Arkham" games, we would have never gotten... Batfleck, AKA the best Batman.

While massive improvements of the gameplay, this right here is where the story gets really bad and stupid.
That Catwoman gameplay looked janky as all hell. Wow
