As of ten minutes ago, I have made it illegal to walk on the floor in any part of the asylum. Anyone caught doing so will have their legs chopped off and perform magic tricks for Emperor Joker!
What the hell?... This channel is massively underrated. You have SO MUCH quality content. Your reviews are absolutely spot on, you deserve *way* more subs mate. Really wish you luck, I’m sure your channel will blow up soon.
I remember I played it 2 times in 2009-2010, then the 3rd time in 2012, and after that one more time a few years ago (can't say which year for sure, but it was definitely some years after the Arkham Knight release), and in every single playthrough after the intial two I just couldn't believe how well this game stood the test of time. I love literally every aspect of it to this very day (yes, even the visuals still hold up after all these years). Another thing about this game that I find absolutely amazing is how natural it makes me want to discover new stuff, and be 100% invested and intrigued in lore by finding collectibles & riddles (unlike modern games which often just force me to grind for this kinda things). In Arkham Asylum the collectibles felt like little sidequests to uncover or stories to learn, and nothing felt tedious or boring to look up for. All that shows how passionate, careful and overall masterful the designers were while putting it all together. In the end it aged like fine wine, indeed.
It's especially nice nowadays with the HD textures mod, ini tweaks that eliminates frame rate smoothing (the fps drops when a door for a new level section opens), higher rez shadows and ReShade MXAO is a perfect for for the game. Also 120 fps? So good.
The reason why you have floating debris is because you have physx enabled and it's kind of broken in this game. If you are running an nvidia card then you can fix it by either updating your graphics driver or downloading the legacy physx driver. If your on AMD tho then I don't know how but I am sure there is a way. Otherwise just disable physx in game and the debris will be positioned properly on the ground again.
Funnily, I know a lot of stealth gamers love "Arkham Aslyum", yet hate it because they feel its influence turned "Splinter Cell: Conviction" into a shadow of Sam Fisher's former self. Do others feel the same, or are the naysayers overstating their case?
Floating objects is physx not working. You'd have to downgrade your driver significantly in order for it to work, something like 312 or in that range. I spent half an hour downgrading my drivers until I found a version that works with the batman games
imo this is a near perfect Batman game. The final boss is a bit of a letdown, but everything else is just so well made and captures the atmosphere so perfectly. I feel like the sequels, while improving and expanding on some of the mechanics, as a whole were inferior to this first game. Not criticising them though. I've only played Arkham City and Arkham Origins, but liked them both. City was almost as good as Asylum imo.
I'm not a big Batman fan myself but the Dark Knight trilogy was amazing I have to admit. The last computer game with Batman that I played must be the one where you could throw hooks from the Batmobile to make 90° turns (early to mid 90s?). Having heard about the Arkham Knight being an amazing game for like 1.000 times I finally caved in just because I could get the Arkham collection for really cheap, now before playing it (Arkham Knight) I wanted to check out the other older 2 games included in the bundle - after this great review I can't wait to rather start with Arkham Asylum and play all 3 games in chonological order. Never stumbled across this channel before - needless to say I already subscribed
@@slickrick3498 Arkham City has really damn good gameplay and I still replay that a lot. However the story was such a let down, especially how Hugo Strange is such a dumbass not using batman identity.
I can't speak for the Xbox version but the PS4 version of Return to Arkham has no technical issues. I should know since I played it (or rather them both) multiple times.
"it makes you FEEL like batman" - you mean like a psycho in a bat suit who runs around breaking peoples bones, but not touching or killing bad guys which are always survive and kill more innocent people))
One of the few Batman Arkham reviews to actually say “You feel like Batman” and be a good review at the same time.

I just started replaying this on pc yesterday!
Your channel should be massive and it will no doubt.

Gotham was really entertaining ngl.

For me it was downgrading the drivers until it worked
Best game series
There's a great HD retexture mod for this game too. Highly recommend!
My favorite of the series. I didn't like that the sequels went open world, but the mechanics were still fun.

I wanna see your thoughts on Arkham Knight
When this came out i played it on the 360, just installed it on PC and can‘t wait to start my second playthrough.
Good review, i wonder if you'd ever review Deadpool, i'll patiently wait and see.
Great review. BTW did you like Gotham?
I did
I really need to buy a pc so many games that I want to play on their
Arkham city next?
one of the greatest sequels ever made
I'm currently trying to figure out how to remove the fps on this game for pc but so far no luck

I will definitely grab this for PC. You did an awesome review!
I wonder what Rocksteady has been working on now....how long has it been since Arkham Knight?? 2015? five years now?
In my opinion, this is the peak of both story and gameplay progression. Everything after that would have way too many flaws to hold them back.
What about Arkham City? Were you not impressed with that one? If so, why?

It's the pc version I think
The only true "freeform combat system" ever in a game was Prince Of persia Warrior Within. The swordplay was legendary.

Yes. Batman
80% off on steam right now
GOTY 2009
good Review ^^
Finally, liked before watching :)
Kevin Conroy and mark hamill are the best Batman and joker
Your a bit late to the party
Fashionably late
Better late and review a game properly than do it day one, without really playing the game. *Cough IGN*
@@DishonoredSkull there the reason I bought fallout 3, worst mistake ever
@@joenathan8059 there are much worse games to purchase imo
There's no such thing as reviewing a game late.
