Hey there, just wanted to answer a few questions I have seen so far. Q: What will your next Arkham video be? A: Gotham Knights or SS. I have no intention of posting any gameplay or other video essays because I have said my piece on the entire series; there's nothing left for me to say. Anything else I do would just be milking the series unless I have some major revelation about the series, which I doubt I will. Q: Were you calling out other RUclipsrs like Degenerate Jay when you talked about splitting the different top tens into different videos? A: No, lol. In Jay's case and many other Arkham RUclipsr's cases, they base their entire channel around making Arkham or Superhero related content. They have always done top 10s, news videos, reactions, and so on. That's what they do. They aren't milking the series in my eyes. You guys know what I do, and I do critiques with maybe a live stream once in a blue moon. If I started making random top 10s and reaction videos about Arkham, my intentions would be monetary. If I started doing that, I believe that I would come to hate the series, and that's not what I want. Furthermore, I am not an Arkham Channel, and I have never intended to be one. This channel is about giving my in-depth thoughts on games. While I understand that my Arkham videos are some of the best and most popular on the channel, I would rather keep a concise and definitive set of videos instead of riding the channel into the ground. Q: Why didn't you choose other skins for the Batmobile? A: I didn't mention it, but I valued the skins usable in the main story more than the others, sorry. Q: Why were half of the non-villain characters villains? A: I chose from characters that weren't significant villains. In my eyes, Simon Stagg is a bad guy, but he's not a primary antagonist and plays a similar role to someone like Dr. Young from Asylum. Q: Will you rank X series (InFAMOUS, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted) A: Yes, but only after I have released videos on every game within that series. I am working on a video ranking the InFAMOUS games in between other videos so expect that soon, but as for the others, I plan to cover the rest of the series first.
Man love this video thank you for showing love to Origins and Knight I feel like both of those games are very disrespected in the community especially Origins gets the most disrespect I mean not giving Origins a remaster still needs to happen it has a great story and the combat is just is good just like every Arkham game and I love the shock gloves which Batman could’ve used them in knight I mean even Rocksteady showed respect to Origins. I replayed it recently on PC and it’s a great game tbh maybe one day they’ll make a remaster or make a new Arkham collection With all 4 games the Arkham series is an Quadrille not a trilogy
@@lsx5221 Don't compare Ac with batman these two are totally different games and Ezio is one of the most loved character in the world. AC is no doubt the best game I've ever played in my entire life specially ezio trilogy❤
Imagine a Batman game with: 1) The atmosphere of Asylum 2) The story of City 3) The boss battles of Origins 4) The game play and open world of Knight Would be the perfect Batman game
i think knight would have been my favorite if they didn’t have so much of the tank, i loved the idea, but it took away from a lot of the other stuff, it was fun but it just got old
I agree I for one prefer Arkham origins joker more then the other 3 seeing him begin his obsession with Batman was awesome the character development with batman was also really cool
Knight and orgins have the best dlcs. City to me was the best everyone can agree with. Asylum easiest trophies to platnium on. Knight hardest difficulty. Knight best batmobiles Knight best combat Knight best stealth upgrades Knight more variety of armors. Knight actually wins if you didn't hate the batmobile.
Asylum - best atmosphere, costume design, score and most 'Batman' experience City - best overall game, story, characters, combat gameplay and tied with Knight for open world Origins - most underrated, best boss battles and character development Knight - best attention to detail, graphics, world design and open world tied with City
@@divine1196 honestly I loved the bane boss fights in origins and the death stroke fight was my absolute favorite because although I got super frustrated when I couldn't beat it the first few times I was fucking ecstatic when I finally did not to mention the other great assassin fights
I do like the Origins bosses, but idk if I could say they are the best due to how clunky the gameplay can feel. But I do believe even people who hate on origins will say it's a top tier game, it's just not game of the year. Also the Mr Freeze boss in City I think was better cause it forced you to learn.
It honestly depends on what type of experience you’re looking for. One aspect of Asylum that I absolutely loved was the fact that Joker was in total control of the asylum and put various challenges in front of Batman, as if the whole situation was just a game to him.
i played a little bit of asylum after playing city, knight and origins and now that ive read arkham asylum a serious house on serious earth the comic the game was loosely based on im not gonna finish arkham asylum cuz im traumatized
Asylum holds up really well, but because gaming honestly hasn't advanced past it. The Boss Battles are the only slog with it really. For me. Asylum is always a good choice. City is great but gets repetitive. Origins is actually my favorite because it polished so many things even though people dont like it. The actual gameplay is the best of the series and the menus were a lot easier to navigate.
@@thesci-fikid6461 I personally think it is the worst out of the games because the other games just build upon asylum but I’ll always appreciate it for making revolutionary game play and an amazing story!
I gotta say I just played knight and the whole thing with joker was freaking brilliant I remember flying through the city and seeing joker just sitting on a roof laughing it was so cool
@@nathanlacroix859 yeah I actually did them and he was the first boss I fought this time cause my game save something happened to it and I had to start all over and he’s the first main boss I beat tho I did finish like 90 percent of the main story first
Watching this the day Kevin Conry's death was annouced. Your list matches mine exactly. The way that you explain the strengths of each game and why the series is such a masterpiece was beautifully said. Thank you for making this video.
I really like how Origins does justice to Alfred probably the most underrated of all the Bat family and probably my favourite character outside of the Rogues Gallery. The whole series sans Asylum because he's barely in it actually does a good job with Alfred but Origins in particular stands out in this regard.
Imagine what i felt when he defended AC: Odyssey, just because your opinion is not popular, doesn't mean nobody thinks like you, btw, Origins is nuts, really good
Man this is why I love these games: I fundamentally disagree with basically all of your list, yet I still 100% understand where you’re coming from because, at the end of the day, all these games a amazing so it makes sense that there is no “ definitive ranking”. They all bring a lot to the table
Arkham Asylum: Best atmosphere Arkham City: Best soundtrack Arkham Origins: Best story and boss battles Arkham Knight: Best graphics, gameplay and content
It’s good to see origins get some love, not because of nostalgia, but what the game had. It had amazing bosses, great map, and great environment. Good list!
Also it just looked beautiful the black and white contrast between Batman, and the snow was gorgeous to look at! Now imagine that but with the Arkham Knight graphics!
It's so crazy that origins is my favorite game. It's just too good bro, the boss fights were perfect, in my opinion they portrayed the beginning of batman too well and it was just so perfect, the beginning of batman and how aggressive he is, he is so angry and young. And using roger was the best option for a younger batman, the beginning of a relationship with the villians and batman and them beginning to fear him and especially the relationship with bane or joker with batman. They portrayed the beginning of a great rivalry between joker and batman just too good. And then you can see that the joker will start to know batman better and he knows his weaknesses, like he didn't know that batmam would not kill anyone and he tried to break him. So joker was the best in origins and had the best design as a younger joker. The story was perfect, especially bane and batman and how they knew each other. I love origins and I don't care what anyone says, it is so underrated just because of a stupid reason that rocksteady didn't make it. The Deathstroke and bane boss fights still gives me chills till this day, they don't appreciate this game much. It's definitely top 2. I understand opinions but they really should pay attention to this game more. That mission in the hotel royale is still the best mission in the series. It was perfect how you go from the sewers to the hotel and you do detective and predator stuff and you see the joker scene where he kills electrocutioner and you get his gloves, and you have to make your way up to the hotel, it was perfect. And then going to the bane fight while joker is watching. And you go save joker and actually this game really did the backstory of batman and joker justice. You can see how deep joker is. That's why I just love origins, and to point out origins was the first arkham game I played that's why I love it, it introduced me to the series. And it's the prequel so it was perfect to play first. The best joker, the best boss fights, the best character designs, the best character development, the best incantation of the villians, the perfect song, the best bruce wayne and Alfred portrayel. Hating this game is a crime.
Glad to see Arkham Origins ranked so high. I feel that game never gets the flowers it deserves. I always hated that it was dumbed down to an Arkham City 2.0, and while true, its not necessarily a bad thing.
I always hated the criticism that "it's just arkham city again, it didn't innovate". It was never supposed to innovate. Its true job was meant to be a fun game for fans to play in order to bridge the gap between city and knight and it did that job perfectly.
@@blacktytrix “bridge the gap” did it tho? I don’t recall anything in Origins’ plot being essential to understand Knight’s. It just felt out of place. The tone was way too modern and gritty for it to be a natural prequel to Asylum. It’s a decent game but I don’t understand how anyone could call it underrated. It’s just more of the same but slightly less polished.
@@SaberRexZealot no I'm saying that knight was going to take 4 years to develop so they wanted to make that gap feel shorter. So origins was made to keep fans into the series while the grand finale was made for next gen consoles therefore bridging the gap between the 2 games, not plot wise, but in a literal sense.
@@SaberRexZealot the boss fights in Arkham Origins are some of the best of the series. Batman gets into a fighting stance when he enters combat, the goons are a bit faster and more realistic. And dont get me started on the Cold, Cold Heart Expansion. There were things that Origins did better than Knight. Like the boss fights, side missions, and crime scene investigations. All of that make you feel like Batman. And you can even go to the Batcave whenever you want. It had its bugs but if it were given the time and effort that the Rocksteady games got, it had potential to be the best. But it is definitely better than Asylum
I only hated it because it was just another Joker story despite having some of Batman's most interesting villains in the game. That was a massive disappointment for me
I just got Asylum, City, and Knight in a $9 bundle off steam and just finished Asylum. As my first Arkham game, it was so good. It was so cool being batman, I couldn't believe how effortless it was to make batman the coolest badass ever. I can't wait to try city later
@@JoeKaveyhow’d you find it? Asylum is easily the second best. Sure, it is the least refined because for obvious reasons, it was the first of the series. But it nails everything so well. AC just improves upon everything too. Everything we love about origins and knight is just stuff from asylum and city. Everything we hate from those games is their own innovations.
Just got the same bundle myself and am playing through them all now. Currently have completed Asylum (+ all riddler stuff) and city (just story) and am working through Knights now (just started). So far City is the weakest, mostly due to the story (suprisingly very messy and weak considering all the praise that part usually gets, though the ending stuff with Joker was good), some rather annoying enemies thay break the smooth flow of combat (FU shield guys in particular), and the lastlucker traversal speed (at least in comparsion to Asylum with its smaller map size and Knight with the Batmobile and improved gliding). Probably would say Asylum is so far my favorite due to its atmosphere and (so far) the best story of the three with the gameplay still holding up. Knight is easily becoming my favorite to play as a game though to the combat and traversal improvements, and the unintentional humor and thrill of my terrible batmobile driving wrecking absolute havoc of the streets and 100% breaking to now kill rule unintentionally. Also liking the Riddler stuff in Knight the most (so far).
Hey man thanks for making this video. Absolutely love these games. In 2011 on Christmas Eve I woke up to my mother telling me my father passed away. The following day I got the Batman Arkham city collectors edition box set. I played that game so much and having it immediately after the passing of my father helped me cope with his death. This series of games means the world to me. Absolutely great video, thank you for making this.
Dang man, I’m sorry to hear that. My condolences. I believe that is why gaming is so important; it can help us deal with trauma as it is a place to escape into another world
Origins is so underrated, that game is fantastic and love it more than Asylum and Knight tbh. The exploration of The Joker and Batman’s relationship was incredible.

All of the games explored the relationship between Batman and the Joker, and in that aspect Its weak compared to Knight and City, but I did like what they did with bane.
@@cabeb508 Bro believe me you are mistaken, but I respect opinions, however in origins it had the best design and character Development with joker, his relationship with batman was so deep, joker was starting to know him and find his weaknesses, at first he didn't knew he would never kill him but save him too. And he said this isn't about you, knowing this is all between them later, and that story with killing joke when you play as joker a little shows everything. Or the end where you had all those cool and deep dialogues with them, joker being obsessed with batman, joker was batman's fear and batman was joker's fear.
1) City: Story, Setting, Ending, Bosses, and Combat. 2) Asylum: Combat, Animated Series like Story, and Setting. 3) Origins: Story, and Bosses. 4) Knight: Gameplay, Graphics, and DLC
@nate Adams honesty knight just has more gadgets etc. to aid in combat. I cannot say it's better in any other regard because City's combat was fluid af.
@nate Adams at this point you can pick up the entire trilogy for a good price. I suggest waiting for the 3 in 1 bundle to go on sale which happens alot on psn and pick that up. All the games are worth playing if you haven't imo.
@nate Adams If I may play devils advocate Knight's combat for as polished as it is can be a bit overhwelming compared to City's especially if coming back from a hiatus. I've played City a lot more than Knight and I still agree for the most part that Knight has better combat but I can definitely see why someone would prefer City to Knight. Personally my favourite probably would be Origins if it weren't for the occasional bug that prematurely kills combos, it doesn't happen a lot but it happens often enough to be a problem especially compared to the relatively bug free combat of the other 3 games but I still prefer the enemy variety in Origins more than all the other games, Venom Users and Martial Artists are just so much fun to fight and I also like the Brutes in Origins better than the Ambromivici twins in City, if you count bosses as part of the combat then Origins has that going for it too. Shalin's also right just wait for a sale and get the trilogy it's available on Steam, Xbone, and PS4, and all versions usually go on sale at the same time so take your pick of platform. I hear they fixed Arkham Knight on PC now although I haven't gotten around to testing that yet. I think the PS4 has a few extra goodies for Knight that are unique to that version so if you don't have a particular preference to any platform go with that one. Origins isn't included in the bundle though.
@@RacingSnails64 just the most underrated game of all time If u play it as "game" and not as a dlc of arkham city U will see that is great The best in the series
It’s a really great game whose only flaw was really….well, a few flaws BUT overall not being made by the same team so it was a little hinky in some aspects and it came out third. The story is awesome tho. Imagine had Origins been first and marketed only as a brand new Batman game where you fight some of his rogues and then getting to the big reveal that Joker was Black Mask the whole time!
All I need to say is: We need more of these vids. Now I could leave it there but I’m gonna go further. The video was the perfect length, I wasn’t bored at any point, it didn’t drag and it didn’t feel like anything was missed out or skipped for a shorter time. Everything was explained quite well, having the perfect length of discussion time. However, I think some lf that top 10 stuff at the end needs some more explaining lol. Oh and we need an origins remake or remaster, that would put the game above asylum and city for me but for now it only sits in 4th place…
It is a shame Kevin Conroy is gone. He brought the Dark Knight to life throughout his thirty year run and made tue Arkham Series feel authentic. Roger Craig Smith did a fine job playing a young version though.
In Knight you definetely feel like a way more seasoned Batman. The guy is simply a beast with the best tech he ever had. I love them all, currently playing three of them at once, Asylum, City and Knight, when I get tired of doing all Rddler stuff in City I go back to were I am in the other games, definetely one of the greatest series of games ever made.
For me Asylum will always be my favorite. I loved the others, but the atmosphere of Asylum just cannot be beaten. And something about it's simplicity is charming. When playing the other three, they can get so cluttered that it gets frustrating. Like the Riddler for instance. There's so many riddler things in the other 3 games that its overwhelming, but Asylum was much more toned down. I got so frustrated in the other games getting all the riddles and trophies, and I still have gotten barely anything in Knight because there's just way too many that I just don't care anymore. Tho I will say that Asylum was the worst music of the 4. City probably has the best theme.
In regards to clutter that's exactly the way I see it (and unfortunately so many other games these days). In the end all the busy work becomes exhausting. You don't want to ignore it but at the same time you don't want to do it either... It's arguably even worse on repeat playthroughs too. However with Asylum I always enjoy doing the Riddler trophies because they're perfectly paced with the game itself and don't intrude - it's a pleasure exploring and soaking in the atmosphere of that wonderful creepy gothic environment.
I like that the story doesn't get too big for it's breeches. Joker doesn't die. Batman doesn't get unmasked and doesn't make a billion lame excuses as to why he doesn't involve Nightwing. Capture villains, put them back in jail.
Asylum is the over-all best game was asylum. It had an epic score. Also you said all three other games had a lot of Riddler trophies, but origins only has one. I mostly agree with your statement.
I love Arkham Knight and am still learning new things like the quick fire batclaw upgrade allows you to takedown heavily armored brutes while the instant takedown requires two uses.
I'd go with (from worst to best): .Blackgate .Asylum .Origins .City .Knight I prefer the plot of City, compared to Knight, but overall, I'd say Knight is just objectively better in regards to smoothness, graphics, combat, etc. It's close, though.
Yeah gameplay mechanic wise Knight is definitely superior. But that's also due in no small part to it being the most recent release and therefore devs having more advanced tech to work with. Imo Origins was the best story. I loved that fight with Slade when I was a kid. Playing it as an adult is still just as fun, but that first time was magical. And although it kinda sucked that "it was joker all along!" I still think the way Joker impersonated Roman was really cool and believable. I didn't suspect a thing (I was like 13 years old or younger.) I loved Bane the most though. Origins was my second Arkham game. First was Asylum. So my only knowledge of Bane was that he was bumbling buffoon who was addicted to steroids basically. But in Origins I like how they portrayed him as pretty much unstoppable. Peak physical form and the tactical prowess to match. If it wasn't for his addiction, I think he would have killed Bruce.
citys story is mostly plot driven rather than character driven which I don't like at all, the villains get a better arc than batman himself where as in knight it's more character driven and really shows a side to batman a lot of people forget, his urge to kill.
@@boysinthehood9355 I understand your point, though I disagree why it's necessarily a bad thing to have the villains develop, rather than Batman. Batman is the same guy in Asylum and City (the only reason why he isn't entirely the same person in Knight is because of the Joker blood (which doesn't make any sense, since he used the cure on himself at the end of City. I've seen theories to justify it, but that would just be head-canon and not valid in this argument)). If Batman didn't have the Joker with him in Knight, he would've been the same. The only time Batman was really different (to me, at least) was in Harley's Revenge, where he seems to just not want to think about what just happened with the Joker and Talia. That's it. He is the same dude! 🤣 Also, it's not that Batman has an urge to kill anyone, it was specifically linked towards the Joker from what we have seen. I understand his ideology of 'If I kill X, I'll be just as bad as X', but he's only really made that apparent towards The Joker, who is now dead, so it's not necessarily tied to his desire to kill, more so that he has Joker in him, changing him in to something he both longs for, yet can also objectively despise.
I personally love every single game in the “Batman: Arkham” series; you could tell me that ANY of the four games is your favorite and I could completely understand (Origins: Blackgate not withstanding)
I love all of the games and Arkham City, Asylum, and Origins we’re my first three games when I got my ps3 years ago. I just wish they’re were more games like these but with other hero’s
The fact that #4, the "worst" in the quadrilogy, is still described as amazing and groundbreaking sets the precedent for how good the Arkham games are.
My favorite is Arkham origins, mainly for nostalgia purposes because it was the first Batman game I played and it was with my dad, a lot of great memories with it. I played the other games too, but not until recently getting into them again.
I love origins I just didn't like how the really changed up the locations like the Steel Mill. I love bring able to piece together a crime scene. Now my experience was kinda ruined because my copy was so buggy and glitchy. I'd lose progress, sometimes the dark knight challenges wouldn't register no matter how many times I did them, the crime in progress and the "bird" side mission always made me mad because the game would tell me it was active yet I would go to that spot and nothing was happening (like it would say it was triggered but then my game would act like it wasnt).
One of my favorite Easter eggs is in Arkham knight during Barbra Gordon’s “death”. In the scene, right before the joker hallucination nudges the gun on the table closer to Barbra showing that Barbra never shot herself because the gun couldn’t have been moved because the joker was fake. If this doesn’t make sense just look up on RUclips for like Barbra Gordon death joker secret or something
@@ThatBoyAqua I remember being a bit puzzled by that detail, but given how many important characters "die" in the game, she was sure to come back. I also liked the detail where after finishing the side quest about the bodies being left on all those walls that one of the buildings is changed to make it look like it's got dozens of them from a distance only to get closer and realize that it's the light fixtures that kind of look like bodies on the wall with the same color scheme.
Fun facts: If you go back to where Barbara died, Joker will be there in the wheelchair and make a joke about it. Also, if you go back to the movie studios after leaving Robin in the cell, you have the choice to tell him about Barbara.
Asylum also has, to me, the best art direction. The fact that it's the closest to being a comic book brought to life and the character art in the database all were phenomenal. I always thought that the gameplay and polygons of Knight combined with the art direction of Asylum would be just a few aspects of the ultimate Batman game. Also, even though Ra's is pronounced properly in Batman Begins and in this video, "Ray-sh" sounds better than "Rahz"
Actually the proper pronunciation for Ra’s is ‘Ra’s al-Ghoul’ because as an Arabic speaker myself I can tell you that ‘Ras’ means head and the ‘S’ is the proper pronunciation since “Rahz “and “Ray-sh” literally make no sense and are not even words in the language while “Ra’s” with an “S” actually means head of the demons or ghools. You can also google translate the phrase “Ra’s Al ghoul” to hear the true pronunciation but the A.I will not sound as cool 😂.
@@OnePullUpKing I was using phonetics to iterate pronunciation. I know how it's properly pronounced and spelled in both its Hebrew and Arabic versions.
I think it’s impossible to give a definitive “best”, because it’s all subject. But, my personal favourite list goes 1) Origins 2) Asylum 3) City 4) Knight
Well if we are talking about the pros and cons knight is the best game because it has the best gameplay. Games should be measured in gameplay not story
1) Knight 2) City 3) Asylum 4) Origins Knight is the most replayable in my opinion. Every time I go to Arkham City I miss all of the improvements and mechanics of Knight
Agree with u but my list is 1) City 2) Asylum 3) Knight 4) Origins I like City bc it had a good story a good twist and good bosses I out Asylum higher cause nostalgia bc it was my first Batman game and my first Playstation game so yh all of these games are good games and the games of my childhood
The thing that made Knight so good, is that it gives the side quests some real meaning. You feel you must get them done, and it feels fun to get them done. They’re challenging and interesting. I enjoy the Bat-mobile as it makes it quicker to move about the game. I also think this story is the most compelling. I think it takes what Origins introduced gameplay wise and improved upon it. My list. Knight Origins Asylum City
@@Walamonga1313 I meant more like an arson conspiracy committed by the fire chief A serial Killer hanging mutilated dead bodies around Man bat I like the watch tower and the outposts
@@christianlukeottinger5093 I’m sorry but I have zero clue how a person can rank roid joker above Arkham city rocksteady literally wanted to make city first but WB needed to see what they could do first so they made asylum
I completely agree with this ranking. Arkham Knight and Arkham Origins are definitely the best and I’m glad finally seeing someone put them on top positions instead of them being last place
I just started watching the video but Arkham Origins is probably the best imo. Best story and best boss battles with my favourite dlc. Arkham Knight on the other hand is probably my least favourite, while it is literally so close to the point where it could be my favourite Arkham game I would usually put it at the bottom. It has a good story but the Arkham Knight stuff was a waste of potential, Robin looks weird enough for me to make a point of it and I hate how the tank gameplay replaces the boss battles and I actually liked playing in a tank a little. An Arkham Knight boss battle could have been so cool too; imagine like a Deathstroke battle but mixed with the mr freeze one where he learns from your attack every time so you keep on having to find out new ways of breaking his block or something like by using the electric gun, explosive gel etc.
@@SHEVCHENKOFAN18 I disagree with it being wasted potential. The tank was a good addition that everyone wanted and begged for but was upset it was “overused” but I don’t think so since the game has the best graphics, combat, dlc, and move set for you to use. With it also having the most difficult yet fun enemies to fight against like the medics. The speed and impact the gliding has ESPECIALLY on missions makes it the best and with the best mechanics.City for example. The combat is fun and good but it can feel to stiff and make you drop combos and the gliding is good but it’s slow and can kill pacing if you go to fast and the grapnel boost is terrible and can slow you down completely. Knight also has the best suits(if you want to count that). If we are on the topic of robins look. It doesn’t look bad I agree on it being worst than city but they used him better and there is hundreds of skins you can use if you don’t like the default like Batman.
Asylum is a classic,City is a beautiful realistic nightmare,Origins was saved by troy bakers young joker and awsome flashy cutscenes,Knight is the most mixed game but i still like it and blackgate i havent played yet.
In my opinion the arkham knight story was great! How the joker was playing a psychological part and how batman was so attracted to him just blew my mind it was perfect
Asylum: Best Environment/Atmosphere City: Best Writing; includes the most amount of characters in a meaningful way Origins: Best Boss Fights & Performances; adds substantial emotional impact to every other game Knight: Best Gameplay, Combat, & Visuals; acts as a fantastic ending to the series
I was with you until that very last comment - Knight’s ending was an awful conclusion. Rocksteady tried their hand at an ambiguous, Nolan-esque ending and face-planted hard.
@@TheSpectacularSpiderPunkNot true at all. They ended the trilogy beautifully. This is a terrible take. Plus Batman didn’t even retire he still was being Batman even after he faked his death. U misunderstood the ending.
@@TheFirstCurse1 I’m aware it’s a quad trilogy. Also knights story isn’t objectively bad. Is it the best story in the series… no, but it isn’t “bad” by any means.
I've got a lot of respect for you seeing where you put Origins. It gets slept on so much that it really doesn't get time in the limelight it deserves. It was really refreshing to see this list. Good stuff!
Arkham Origins was my favorite Arkham game due to it was the game where you truly felt like Batman. Going back to the cave to grab new gear, talking to Alfred, the first game with that truly showcased detective work on the crime scene investigations, the boss fights were the absolute best in the series and then not to mention the "Batman Begins" type story challenge maps, that like you said could have easily been an actual standalone story dlc game. Origins DESERVES a next gen remaster, the only reason why I play Arkham Knight more is due to how beautiful it is, the more fluid combat but mainly because its on PS4/PS5!
Love the video! I’m glad I’m not the only one who like Knight the most. For me, I enjoyed the batmobile combat aside from the horrible stealth sections. Other than that, I thought the game did everything else aside from boss battles, the best in the series. Also, I really love having the gcpd lockup as a hub area, really gives a fun sense of progression as you progress through the game
Some little detail I loved about the 1+2 is how longer you play and progress, Bats looks more and more beaten up. There are scratches on his armor, gunshots, the cape has slashes holes and cuts. You can even see Bruce's beard grow from a new shave to a three day beard.
I just started playing Knight a week ago (finally) and it’s already my favorite Arkham game. It’s like you said, it perfected everything about the series, especially traversal and combat. And I 100% agree with everything you said, including the rankings of each game and why they’re in those placements. This series need to have the AK be the last of it. It was such a perfect closure to the series and it can just live in this perfect story.
I find myself always coming back to Arkham Knight. Feels so solid and each time I come back, my combat starts terribly but gets better and better and I'll feel more and more badass
Thank you for these videos, you've actually got me addicted to them, and made me buy some great games. I would also LOVE if you'd do a re-review of Bloodborne.
I don’t know how but with how Aqua talks and builds his argument he could convince me that Bubsy 3D is a timeless masterpiece and should be #1 on my all time favorite games
for the longest time it was city for me but every time i go back to knight i love it more and more. knight is my fav despite peoples issues with the batmoblie and the arkham knight stuff which i agree with.
@Austin Smd bruh it's in most riddler stuff, half the side missions, in nearly every main mission in Gotham streets. It's in so many boss fights also. What're you on about it only being a quarter of the game
@@VerticlSpoon story was amazing, I liked the batmobile, some enemies who i thought were gonna be bosses were underwhelming, batman's character was not any different from batman's character in other games
@@morgan0__o nah the man was a pure robot and manipulator. It would’ve been fine if they addressed it... but they didn’t. I like Batman when he shows genuine emotion and breaks character. Like in origins with Alfred or city when he has to talk down robin. But he constantly acts like a robot and it’s so noticeable and shit for me.
Played every single one of them to the 100% and I gotta say, the Deathstroke fight in Origins still gives me chills, definitely the best fight and most underrated game of Batman.
Honestly my favourite is Batman Arkham knight because you might spend weeks on that game so you wouldn’t have to worry about beating it so quick but the fact that it’s the first time you get to physically drive the bat mobile like I think they could’ve done something like that in Arkham city but I love the fear multi takedowns!
Origins is my favourite by a long shot. I love how Bane was portrayed: ruthless and brilliant at the same time. I loved the atmosphere of Gotham in Christmas. The way they showed the assassins was phenomenal, plus there were a lot of characters I didnt'know such ass Lady Sheva and Copperhead. They truly felt like assassins who were gonna get your head. The boss fight against Deathstroke is just bad ass and intense. Everything about the game feels gritty and bloody. I really hope they make a sequel ❤❤❤❤❤
Origins to me has my favorite main story. Arkham knight is number 1 just because it built on all the past games and took what they did well and implemented it well. The real only big flaw is the over usage of the bat mobile. When I first played the game the bat mobile was amazing and I loved using it but towards the end I got so annoyed with it that I hated playing those missions
Imo I think the only thing bad are the bosses. Because people hated the bosses, they remembered those experiences more, and therefore the belief that the Batmobile was overused.
@@Aspenstorpemusic if they would’ve made the death stroke fight not just the bat mobile but also a hand to hand fight like in origins then nobody would’ve ever said anything about the bat mobile being over used
Arkham knight had so much potential, I thought the bat suit was cool, I liked how they had Nightwing, and Robin, barber, and Alfred, but they could’ve done so much more with the Scarecrow and Arkham knight.
What's funny it's that this series reminds me of the Borderlands series and how much I love both Origins and Pre Sequel even tho both are the black sheeps. And Knight and Bl3 have some of the biggest pros but cons as well.
Having only played Arkham asylum, i really have to play the other Arkham games. City and knight looks like a lot of fun and could be my new favorite games.
Honestly, Origins is the second best in my opinion, with the first being Arkham City. Asylum in my opinion was great and has a lot of nostalgic value but City took Asylum and in many ways perfected the gameplay. Origins in my opinion is the second best because it had a good story and even better boss fights, if I was judging these games on boss fights alone, Origins would win. Knight was great don’t get me wrong, but a ton of stuff about was annoying and the story was honestly lack luster in many areas. I loved the Batmobile but it was overused and felt tedious at times. Plus I wished we could use more vehicles other than just the batmobile but that’s just my opinion.
Arkham knight was a great game but i just cant get over the fact that there is no true boss fight in that game. We had a great chance to have two unbelievable boss fights with jason todd and deathstroke and all we got was a fcking tank war. I was very, very dissapointed. Still a great game though
You've gained a sub for this one! I really don't have any arkham game higher than the other cuz its just so tough for me to rank. I loved all of them and there stories and there different highs and lows. Also I bought the arkham knight season pass for $5 so I'd def say it was worth it for that. In terms of the video, I loved it. I never had the urge to click off, never got bored of the video. So you def kept my attention
Hey! just subbed and binged a lot of your batman videos! found my new favourite channel lmao. honestly though, i thought the guy smoking in the diner at the beginning Arkham Knight was actually Anarky!! The 'A' looks more akin to the stylized 'A' on his jacket in Origins, he's wearing red like in Origins, and there is even a thug dialogue where they mention Anarky too. It's something to the effect of "anyone see that Anarky guy? kid woulda loved this" - regardless awesome video and can't wait to see more of your stuff!!
Thank you 🙏 Yea I also thought it was Anarchy but Red Hood seems to make more sense, with the “A” being for “Arkham” and the red hood being for “Red Hood”. I think either interpretation works though!
I heard your positive thoughts on origins and it convinced me to finally give it a go during my replaying of the (rest of the) series, and shit man I'm glad I did, I liked it way more than I thought I would. It actually inspired me to make my own video on it, and I recently watched ur dedicated origins video and loved it, I appreciate how secure your opinions are and how you vouched for that game!
For me, I played Origins first, and thought it would be my favourite of the series. But as soon as I finished Asylum and City, and eventually Knight, I just couldn't decide which was my favourite. I'd say right now Asylum is my favourite, tho I haven't played it in a while. Great video, I love hearing someone else's opinions on such a great series 👍
I have never played Asylum. I have played through over half of city and night, I love them both but both have their pros and cons. I do absolutely loved the look of the constant rain storm in Arkham Knight however. No game since has captured that perfect look of a rainstorm
I completely agree with this list, cause in my mind, gameplay replay-ability goes first over everything else, including story, because gameplay and after story is what keeps you playing, and just gameplay wise, Arkham Knight is obviously the best.
It’s nice seeing some Arkham Knight appreciation, it’s the one I find myself going back to the most for driving the Batmobile, the numerous side quests even with the season of infamy, not to mention the architecture and well built world adds to it altogether.
@@Therealstoob Yes and there weren't enough saves in the middle. It angered me that I'd spend a half hour or longer stalking the tanks only to get painted into the corner and killed by the last one.
For the first time since Arkham asylum came in 2009 i found every riddler trophy in the game. Story is 100% finished and i was planning on doing the same for city but it's double the trophies and decided not to. I'm 28 years old and when i found the last trophy i teared up a little and my girlfriend was laughing at me 😅
For me Asylum will be the best forever. It had the overal best atmosphere, it didn't try to do too much, and the location was just perfect because it really felt like Batman is closed in with those people in the Asylum. It was spooky, and the stlye of the HUD and menu screens just helped even more to create an amazing Batman game that feels similar to the comics.
DAMN RIGHT!!! , your list IS the correct one, origin and knight where the top games , the other gain point mostly for nostalgia and the base mechanics. but origins and knight is perfection.
Asylum will always be my number 1. I remember being so excited for it before it even came out. I watched all the interviews, gameplay demos, and had all the variants of the game informer covers. That game changed the gaming industry forever. It showed that new mechanics for combat could be done and games today still copy the format, its the standard. The atmosphere is unlike any game youll play, you really feel like youre in a Batman comic or the animated show. Rocksteady really nailed the gameplay, the detective work, puzzles, characters, pacing, everything. Sure the boss fight at the end was goofy, but 99 percent of the game is damn near perfect. Arkham City to me is the most overrated Arkham game in my opinion and i think a lot of people see it as the best because it was their first Arkham game after the success of Asylum. The story is underwhelming, the atmosphere wasnt great and the world just felt kind of empty. Really did feel like just a wild goose chase, one long fetch quest. It did have the best suits out of all the Arkham games though and the combat was really refined. Its just not all its cracked up to be Origins i think is better than City because its basically City with a better story. Seeing a younger more brutal Batman and how he's still viewed as a myth was really awesome. And seeing him interact with Joker for the first time i thought was perfect. Arkham Knight I probably have more hours in than any of the others and is probably my second favorite. The gameplay is definitely the best in the entire series. The city aswell is just so detailed and amazing to be in. Not the best story, but all the content and side missions kept me super busy and it all was honestly fun. The boss fights though, really underwhelming.
“I rather Batman die a hero than be dragged out long enough to be viewed as villain” very well said. I use to want a lot more Arkham games but you made some valid points. No need to make more
All of the Arkham games are so good for their own specific things for me and it's awesome. Arkham Knight had the best gadgets and gameplay, Arkham City had the best story, Arkham Origins had the best boss fights, and Arkham Asylum had the best immersive environment and made you feel dived in the comic-like universe. I play all of these every day and never get tired. Man I'm gonna miss Kevin Conroy.. rest in peace 💖🙏
Yup agree with this take, Arkham City has one of the best soundtracks of the 4 and definitely of video games as a whole and Arkham Knights gameplay is so freaking smooth
My favorite is arkham asylum, i know its not very liked but i find myself playing it any chance i get and I love the atmosphere, combat/stealth (they may not be the best but I still love them and have adapted to them and have come to love it) and story.
Q: Will you rank X series (InFAMOUS, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted)
A: Yes, but only after I have released videos on every game within that series. I am working on a video ranking the InFAMOUS games in between other videos so expect that soon, but as for the others, I plan to cover the rest of the series first.
Thanks for clearing up all those questions. Loved the video yet again!

Which
Glad to see Arkham Origins ranked so high.

I’m currently playing through origins again and it’s as amazing as I remember. Also, the graphics kinda hold up
1) City: Story, Setting, Ending, Bosses, and Combat.
2) Asylum: Combat, Animated Series like Story, and Setting.
3) Origins: Story, and Bosses.
4) Knight: Gameplay, Graphics, and DLC
@nate Adams knights combat is the best combat
Origins online was really fun

It’s a really great game whose only flaw was really….well, a few flaws BUT overall not being made by the same team so it was a little hinky in some aspects and it came out third. The story is awesome tho. Imagine had Origins been first and marketed only as a brand new Batman game where you fight some of his rogues and then getting to the big reveal that Joker was Black Mask the whole time!
All I need to say is:
We need more of these vids.
Yeah id love a remaster
It is a shame Kevin Conroy is gone. He brought the Dark Knight to life throughout his thirty year run and made tue Arkham Series feel authentic. Roger Craig Smith did a fine job playing a young version though.
He and Mark Hamill are the definitive Batman and Joker, they’re both impossible to replace
@@bencarlson4300roger smith can be his successor he was very good
In Knight you definetely feel like a way more seasoned Batman. The guy is simply a beast with the best tech he ever had. I love them all, currently playing three of them at once, Asylum, City and Knight, when I get tired of doing all Rddler stuff in City I go back to were I am in the other games, definetely one of the greatest series of games ever made.
For me, it’s really hard to pick. I love them all for different reasons. But City and Origins is probably the perfect games for me.
same here
For me Asylum will always be my favorite.
Dude, i 200% agreed.
@Arkham secrets • 108 years ago noob
I'd go with (from worst to best):
.Blackgate
.Asylum
.Origins
.City
.Knight
I prefer the plot of City, compared to Knight, but overall, I'd say Knight is just objectively better in regards to smoothness, graphics, combat, etc.
I didn't suspect a thing (I was like 13 years old or younger.)
I loved Bane the most though.
Same opinion
citys story is mostly plot driven rather than character driven which I don't like at all, the villains get a better arc than batman himself where as in knight it's more character driven and really shows a side to batman a lot of people forget, his urge to kill.
Also, it's not that Batman has an urge to kill anyone, it was specifically linked towards the Joker from what we have seen.
The combat in knight was more easy, which isn't bad but just a fact I'd like to state
Wow you really went all out even ranking the skins, playable characters, and villas. No wonder this took so long to make, good job
I personally love every single game in the “Batman: Arkham” series; you could tell me that ANY of the four games is your favorite and I could completely understand (Origins: Blackgate not withstanding)

@@hunterjarriel6635 there's quite a lot actually. Real good ones however not so much
The fact that #4, the "worst" in the quadrilogy, is still described as amazing and groundbreaking sets the precedent for how good the Arkham games are.
My favorite is Arkham origins, mainly for nostalgia purposes because it was the first Batman game I played and it was with my dad, a lot of great memories with it. I played the other games too, but not until recently getting into them again.
Origins was my favorite too. Best boss fights in the series
Origins was ALSO my favorite lol
Origins is criminally underrated
Origins is the arkham game I always play on chrismas
I love origins I just didn't like how the really changed up the locations like the Steel Mill. I love bring able to piece together a crime scene. Now my experience was kinda ruined because my copy was so buggy and glitchy. I'd lose progress, sometimes the dark knight challenges wouldn't register no matter how many times I did them, the crime in progress and the "bird" side mission always made me mad because the game would tell me it was active yet I would go to that spot and nothing was happening (like it would say it was triggered but then my game would act like it wasnt).
Major appreciation for not milking the top lists 🙌
One of my favorite Easter eggs is in Arkham knight during Barbra Gordon’s “death”. In the scene, right before the joker hallucination nudges the gun on the table closer to Barbra showing that Barbra never shot herself because the gun couldn’t have been moved because the joker was fake. If this doesn’t make sense just look up on RUclips for like Barbra Gordon death joker secret or something
Holy shit that might actually be my new favourite detail
Because because because because becaaaauuuuse!
Because of the wonderful things he does.

@@thomanom2627 I fully disagree but I respect your opinion
@@ZayToDiffrent Why's that?

It shows Batman the best .....True Batman fans will love orgins the most ...the goosebumps when the game starts and the bat flying on seeing him 🥶
Love the video! I’m glad I’m not the only one who like Knight the most. For me, I enjoyed the batmobile combat aside from the horrible stealth sections.
They are making a sequel to origins, it’s called “the Arkham nights” but you don’t play as Batman :(
Origins is my 2nd fav. The only reason it's not #1 is that it somehow felt clunkier than City even after releasing later.
Origins to me has my favorite main story. Arkham knight is number 1 just because it built on all the past games and took what they did well and implemented it well. The real only big flaw is the over usage of the bat mobile. When I first played the game the bat mobile was amazing and I loved using it but towards the end I got so annoyed with it that I hated playing those missions
arkham knights boss fights were unbelievably bad

Thank you 🙏
Yea I also thought it was Anarchy but Red Hood seems to make more sense, with the “A” being for “Arkham” and the red hood being for “Red Hood”. I think either interpretation works though!
A great informative video 👍
I heard your positive thoughts on origins and it convinced me to finally give it a go during my replaying of the (rest of the) series, and shit man I'm glad I did, I liked it way more than I thought I would. It actually inspired me to make my own video on it, and I recently watched ur dedicated origins video and loved it, I appreciate how secure your opinions are and how you vouched for that game!
in my opinion, origins is best, city is 2nd, knight is 3rd and asylum is 4th but theyre all masterpieces
My kinda guy!
RIP Kevinh Conroy best batman ever you are awesome:
Arkham series speaks for itself.
Although his choices are vastly different to mine he presented some great points that I didn't even think about which is why I respect these decisions
I have never played Asylum. I have played through over half of city and night, I love them both but both have their pros and cons. I do absolutely loved the look of the constant rain storm in Arkham Knight however. No game since has captured that perfect look of a rainstorm
Dude you should play it, it was so good
I completely agree with this list, cause in my mind, gameplay replay-ability goes first over everything else, including story, because gameplay and after story is what keeps you playing, and just gameplay wise, Arkham Knight is obviously the best.
Dude I totally agree with this list. Great stuff you got a new sub.
It’s nice seeing some Arkham Knight appreciation, it’s the one I find myself going back to the most for driving the Batmobile, the numerous side quests even with the season of infamy, not to mention the architecture and well built world adds to it altogether.
Yeah but everyone hates the Batmobile parts.
@@budthechud9795 I think everyone hate the drones fights and I kinda get it. But driving around with the batmobile is hella nice
They relied too much on tanks
Yeah I loved the ink like HUD
Its just not all its cracked up to be
Origins i think is better than City because its basically City with a better story.
Knight had the best suits IMO
but asylum was very short 40 hours at maximum whereas i needed 200 hours in city and origins alone and idk how many in knight
@@shadowking773 city and knight weren't even 60 hours to ceomplete absolutely everything
@@bepohal not exactly I am also including all the challenge maps
@@shadowking773 i'm also
I think one of the reasons Arkham knight is probably my second favorite Arkham game is because it helped me through a tough time
Yeah sometimes you connect emotions to a product whether a movie, song or album or game.
I hope you're feeling better now :)
@@rozzaziobrown6515 life has been a lot better. My mom stopped getting drunk all the time and she’s actually married now. And I love her husband.
@@harlowatkins6628 I'm glad to here that man. You and your mom deserve it!
im glad i got to experience this series. such a special collection, emotionally and technically.
“I rather Batman die a hero than be dragged out long enough to be viewed as villain” very well said. I use to want a lot more Arkham games but you made some valid points. No need to make more
All of the Arkham games are so good for their own specific things for me and it's awesome. Arkham Knight had the best gadgets and gameplay,
Arkham City had the best story,
Arkham Origins had the best boss fights, and Arkham Asylum had the best immersive environment and made you feel dived in the comic-like universe. I play all of these every day and never get tired. Man I'm gonna miss Kevin Conroy.. rest in peace 💖🙏
R.I.P Kevin Conroy😔 THE GOAT!!!!!💯🔥🔥🔥
Arkham Knight. Maybe not a perfect story but easily the best gameplay and combat of the series.
1. Knight
2. City
3. Asylum
4. Origins
Yup agree with this take, Arkham City has one of the best soundtracks of the 4 and definitely of video games as a whole and Arkham Knights gameplay is so freaking smooth
I'm So Happy You've Included Arkham Origins!
My List:
1. Arkham Origins
2. Arkham City
3. Arkham Asylum
4. Arkham Knight
My favorite is arkham asylum, i know its not very liked but i find myself playing it any chance i get and I love the atmosphere, combat/stealth (they may not be the best but I still love them and have adapted to them and have come to love it) and story.
Controversial choice: I like origins the best
