JC545X39 Well, it usually just depends where you point it and how you set the fuzes. AAA is anti aircraft artillery, usually used with timed charges so the shells explode in the air at a set range (flak) or by proximity. Modern point defences are usually not directly controlled by a gunner, because computers do a better job of tracking fast targets like jets and missiles, but then much of the world can't afford that kind of tech so you get older AAA guns like this, which are just as effective at blasting things on the ground.

For everyone watching post August 2021 and commenting things like "imagine equipping an army and then losing to dudes in turbans and sandals" - at minute 18:00 she mentioned how the US stripped this army of all advanced equipment and then left them on their own with "limited training." People who criticize this army have no idea about Afghanistan. This Army is shit and should never be compared to another country's Army. After 30 years of war rebuilding an Army is not easy, however our aim was never to build an Army that can take on America, it was to build an Army that could fight the Taliban. This Army is perfectly capable of fighting the Taliban, while the foundations of a new Army are being laid out. A new generation of Afghan army recruits are joining the Army, recruits whom with relative peace and stability have gone to school and university. The Afghan officer academy in Kabul is training the next generation of leaders, both men and women.

Having 12 guys with guns around you when sitting in your garden becomes normal and non-threatening very quickly. You need to emotionally understand that they are friends, and not there because of you. The guns are your guns, protecting the people that protect you. Not threatening guns.
I'm copying and pasting this so maybe people will understand what the US gave their ally The US gave the army 0 tanks, a bunch of Humvee's with no one to fix them, a few dozen Jets and helicopters to cover a country the size of 2 Germanies but with a lot more mountains which could only be reached by, you guessed it, planes, 0 bombers, 0 missile launchers, no medical support, forced the government to release 5000 hardened Taliban soldiers for absolutely nothing, scraped equipment rather then giving it to the Army, took out the contractors needed to fix the planes for the tiny, tiny air force, told the enemy exactly when they're going to pull out and not look back, didn't even threaten to change course after they launched a massive offensive and pulled out ever thing over the course of 2 months in the middle of summer aka the fighting period is abandoning a country. What really crushed moral as well was when Biden heavily implied that that he'll stop what little air strikes they were getting the second August 31st ended. There's also plenty of stories of higher ups saying a peace deal was on the way and to just give up with out a fight, hence why there is now a Northern Resistance comprised mostly of special forces. The Afghan army suffered 70,000+ dead soldiers compared to 3,000 dead American soldiers (10 dead a year in the last 5 years) and did most of the fighting for the past half decade. The only reason they fell apart was because of all the stuff mentioned above. And horrible/corrupt leadership. But this was mostly the US and Biden's fault and it's is honestly disgusting for him to put the blame on the Afghan soldiers and call them "cowards who didn't want to fight" when he did everything in his power to abandon them for no reason except a few political brownie points which he at least won't get now
That’s pretty spot on but the president left even if they did have the training the equipment and armor they wouldn’t have fought it didn’t really matter there was Nobody there to tell them to fight or how or what to do. the Afghanistan army fell apart not because of lack of equipment but lack of leadership. But you are mostly right i cant say i blame the Afghans for surrendering nobody was paying them they had no equipment its really not there fault.

Harry H What utter rubbish. He's making it seem as if the Taliban wouldn't exist if Pakistan didn't support them. This completely ignore the history of Afghanistan as a whole. 90% of the taliban are afghan pushtun, the punjabi taliban are nothing more than a conspiracy theory that the afghans made up to promote hatred against Pakistan. The fact that this police general is a known drug lord and mass murderer, shows you how little trust you should put into his words. As far as I'm concerned, he's a compulsive liar. But you know what? He's right about one thing, he (along with a good chunk of Afghanistan) consider Pakistan their enemy. This is despite the fact that Pakistan has taken care of millions of Afghan refugees over the span of 30 years, spending over $200 billion on them and ruining Pakistan's economy. Did you know that it was actually the Afghans that first started using militants against Pakistan? Look it up, 1950s was the beginning of it. The Afghans to this day don't recognize the existence of Pakistan, they were the only ones in the UN to reject the birth of Pakistan in 1947. They tried to invade Pakistan twice in the 1960s, and both times they got their asses hand to them. Pakistan ended up getting sick and tired of Afghanistan's constant meddling in Pakistani affairs that Pakistan blockaded them and very nearly destroyed the Afghan economy. If the Soviets didn't save their asses, Afghanistan wouldn't have survived. They started using militants against Pakistan again during the Communist regime in Afghanistan. Pakistan retaliated by doing the same in Afghanistan by supporting the Mujaheddin with the help of the US, Saudi Arabia, and to a certain degree, China. Pakistan ended up winning that war too. When Pakistan tried to actually finally bring peace to the region, and get Afghanistan to recognize Pakistan's sovereignty, the US ended up abandoning the region. Pakistan ended up having to clean up the mess the Afghans started. The Afghans started this mess, and you know what? You reap what you sow. Unfortunately, once the civil war starts (just like last time) Pakistan is going to have to clean up this mess again.
Actually, most of the "Taliban/Insurgents" that my unit liquidated were from Pakistan... I know because I actually stepped foot in that fucking country for 9 months. Enjoy your "Arm Chair General" antics. Ignorance is bliss!
The coalition isn't fighting for Pakistan, it's fighting because it wanted to avenge 9/11. Pakistan is only fighting this war, because the US asked it to. The only problem in the region is Afghanistan. All these problems can be routed to 1947 when Afghanistan rejected the birth of Pakistan.
Harry H I have no reason to believe you. Even if you were in the army, I doubt that you did want you said. Fact is that I'm stating nothing but history, you have shown nothing but misinformation. The very fact that you said the coalition forces fought for Pakistan tells me that you're making shit up. Besides, you're not the only one to join the army and fight in Afghanistan.
Disorganized and unmotivated, this video tragically foretells the irreversible disaster that was Afghan National Army. They gave up, not a single battle was fought. It's inconceivable to think that a generation or two before, the same people defeated the full might of the Soviet Army.
So unorganized ahaha, the Maj. General saw a soldier clearly breaking dress code with two flags on his arm, and the soldiers response was I love my country. How can they expect to be taken seriously, if they cant even discipline themselves enough to follow uniform regulations?
I wish I had been watching this situation develop over the years. It is easy to become complacent to all the issues in the world due to lack of time to watch all the news stories, and get all the various perspectives. It's hard enough to keep up with day-to-day work and family time, let alone be concerned with things that are happening in the middle east. But it is interesting to study the whole situation and see how this all unfolded. One perspective I heard is that perhaps the U.S. could have set up a permanent military installation in Afghanistan the same way we have bases in Germany, Japan, Korea, etc.
I was watching this, and halfway I could not bare it anymore. I've deployed to the middle east, and it's always the same shit it seems, when it comes to the Army. Lazy, undisciplined, incompetent, corrupt. And when you are part of the occupation Army, watching this piss poor effort at nation building makes you cringe, and also propels you to question whether the whole "civilizing effort" is a useless endeavor. Well, what am I even saying, that "effort" at nation building is, from what I have witnessed while deployed, merely a front. Money, power and resources are the real driving force behind the current wars.
I doubt it. I know what you mean on the uneducated part, but it does not take education to know that raping children is wrong (this problem is endemic in the Afghan and Iraqi armies...) or to stick to a cause with discipline and see it through, most of these guys go Awol. They lack what you and I would call education, but they are not truly uneducated, they are well schooled to survive and even thrive in the area they are from. If anything, its meddling by the west, assuming that since Alexander, the British and Russia could not conquer Afghanistan, we could definitely do it. Thought that has since bruised the ego of many a chicken hawk.
Sadly you're right. Nations practically never do something for another country unless it directly and primarily serves their own interests. It's the job of politicians to protect the interests of heir countries and their favourite pastime is getting re-elected, so every action gets sugar-coated and every time there's a speech, the subtext is "aren't we great... look how great we are, doing all this great stuff for our friends out of sheer greatness. God bless us." The saddest part is that in general the population believes it, because we care about the ideals and want to believe our countries are genuinely concerned with the welfare of others. I realised all this when I was 18 and looking over RAF recruitment papers. I just stopped and thought: Do I really want to be commanded by George W. Bush and Tony Blair? Do I trust them? Unfortunately, by the time I had the idea of going into helicopter training to fly SAR - something I'd be morally happy doing regardless of who was in command - I was already past the 25 yr old limit for recruitment.
Jason Dowdy I don't recall a whole lot of child raping going on during the American civil war. Like the practice of keeping young boys with the Army for the purpose of raping and to fetch your tea.

Having 12 guys with guns around you when sitting in your garden becomes normal and non-threatening very quickly. You need to emotionally understand that they are friends, and not there because of you. The guns are your guns, protecting the people that protect you. Not threatening guns.
I'm copying and pasting this so maybe people will understand what the US gave their ally
The US gave the army 0 tanks, a bunch of Humvee's with no one to fix them, a few dozen Jets and helicopters to cover a country the size of 2 Germanies but with a lot more mountains which could only be reached by, you guessed it, planes, 0 bombers, 0 missile launchers, no medical support, forced the government to release 5000 hardened Taliban soldiers for absolutely nothing, scraped equipment rather then giving it to the Army, took out the contractors needed to fix the planes for the tiny, tiny air force, told the enemy exactly when they're going to pull out and not look back, didn't even threaten to change course after they launched a massive offensive and pulled out ever thing over the course of 2 months in the middle of summer aka the fighting period is abandoning a country.

Both of those countries IMHO don't deserve the sweat that the coalition drops on that shitty ground!

I have no reason to believe you.
25:08 - Uh, yeah... can I get directions to the TGI Fridays in Kandahar?
Disorganized and unmotivated, this video tragically foretells the irreversible disaster that was Afghan National Army. They gave up, not a single battle was fought. It's inconceivable to think that a generation or two before, the same people defeated the full might of the Soviet Army.
Taliban are their cousins lol plus they had peoples support the government was under The Usa control and that made it weak
Right now people support the Taliban. economy and education for women is what they want but that can happen with time
Come 2021 and apparently these guys never really left boot camp. Turned tail at the first battle they had to fight without Uncle Sam.
They hadn't been payed in months... doesn't surprise me there was no resistance
@@andrewb8698 pay doesn't mean anything look at the Taliban
Yep...sad.
Well, this aged like milk
27:30 shows how untrained they are with weapons. points straight at a little girls head as he walks by. jesus
18:20 afghan army in a nutshell!
28:59 nice RPG 7 dude
Khuday Pak de 7 Sara jantona kare ke raziq😢😢😢
10:31 this rainy day mollah omar died...23 April,2013..this day usa lost there 70+ Helicopter
I hope the best for Afghans.
God bless us."
The saddest part is that in general the population believes it, because we care about the ideals and want to believe our countries are genuinely concerned with the welfare of others. I realised all this when I was 18 and looking over RAF recruitment papers. I just stopped and thought: Do I really want to be commanded by George W. Bush and Tony Blair? Do I trust them?
Unfortunately, by the time I had the idea of going into helicopter training to fly SAR - something I'd be morally happy doing regardless of who was in command - I was already past the 25 yr old limit for recruitment.
glad to know so many people understand the underlying reasons behind the veil of nation building.... i wish this knowledge could matter in real.

I don't recall a whole lot of child raping going on during the American civil war. Like the practice of keeping young boys with the Army for the purpose of raping and to fetch your tea. Chai boys I think they're called. Let me know if you dig up anything like that in your foolish attempt at moral equivalence. Bacha Bazi aka
Coolins335 Chai boys and dancing boys are predominantly a southern Pashtu thing, whilst the ANA is almost entirely made up of Northern ethnic minorities. It's the local ANP who are mostly behind the pedophilia.
You could watch this and see how unmotivated the soldiers were.
wow. America has done a lot for this military
Not more than the Russians... Every road in Afganistan was built by Russia while the US was arming the opposition to kill ANA.
***** what US want to kill ANA???
Md Plabon
When the soviets were there yes. They armed the Mujaheddin a group that killed over 1.2+ million ANA soldiers which later became factions in Al Qaeda and taliban....
Im talking about what they have done for the ANA NOW. before we got there they couldn't even do jumping jacks.
skat3noah
Thats because the Mujaheddin or the taliban killed all the ones that the soviets taught how to read. Afganistan had 50% literacy rate when the soviets were there we built them roads schools, Now its less than 20% national literacy rate. Believe it or not the Soviets had the ANA at a literacy rate of 80% they all left the ana because the taliban took over!
Most of the footages of Afghan police and army looks as if they made it just for this documentary.
29:40 looking for Taliban under the quilts😂🤣
i need the name of the reporter for research purposes
