  • This is the life of the last Kyrgyz nomads of the Afghan Pamir, a people imprisoned between three borders. They have experienced famine, exile, war and persecution. The only place where they have found security and peace is the hidden depths of Central Asia.
Despite the hardships and extremely inhospitable terrain, these people have managed to survive and maintain their traditional way of life against all odds.

It is difficult to feel sympathy for a man who chooses his opium high over the well being of wife and children/I can see no future for a man incapable of empathy for his only support system (his family),To compound the issue he smokes paracetamol. This will destroy his lungs and in fact will do a little if he takes it as directed. I was in the Pamir (USSR/Tadzhikistan) in 1989. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever traveled. I loved seeing the results of so many human migrations through the land - Persians, Mongols, Greeks, Scythians... and basically anyone who fought with or against Alexander the Great. Amazing to see olive-skinned kids with jet black hair and blue eyes! Wonderful people, beautiful land.

Governments do very little for these people whom they have little control over. In centuries gone by, no borders existed for them, and they thrived. In a modern world, made smaller by instant communication and rapid travel, they are scrambling over their small worlds that time forgot.

@@alimomandkotwal1893 Oh so you think you can tell God He can't be a human 🤔, your god must be weak and not very strong, Ya see Our God doesn't haven't limitations to what He can do, Our God does whatever He wants for He is God, we don't tell our God what He can and cannot do, because we fear our God out of love and out of respect. Sounds like your god you tell what to do, 🤔 maybe you think you are god 🤔, Our God can come to earth as a human born of a virgin, and He came as Angel of the LORD in the old testament to multiple different people, Moses, Abraham, Hagar, to come a petty simple human being, for GOD isnt a hard thing to do

I've been a heroin addict for 6 years. I have to go through withdrawal in a cosy bed, with a tv, food, heating, medication, and even that is hell on earth. I cannot imagine having a habit in a place like that, and with that kind if predicament. And of course opium is not as as strong so he would need to use even more and more. Awful.
"We cant live without it anymore" "We are prisoners of it" I have heard these words spoken of all kinds of people, including myself
