@@g6ixwayne363 Actually, the Chelsea moved makes sense. Torres was really struggling in the World Cup (almost cause Spain the title if not for Villa turning up) and the first half of the 2010-11 season with Liverpool. Typically when players are struggling they need to move and find new surroundings to give them fresh motivations and hopefully make everything right again. Chelsea came calling and Liverpool, Torres took the chance.Unfortunately, Torres was really done for at that stage of his career. That's why I don't understand when others said that Chelsea ruined his career, Torres was done early at Liverpool....

Moving to Chelsea did kill his career big time, he played in a system that was built for Drogba of long balls and Chelsea went on to bring in a lot of new players who were more concerned about proving themself as new Chelsea stars rather than helping Torres get back to his best. The Chelsea move did not help at all.

Aside from the knee injury, there were other factors as to why Torres’s production in Chelsea dipped.
    1. The fans pressed management into not playing him and they made it very clear they were not happy with him. This clearly effected his confidence at the club. (IE the miss vs Man United)
    2. A loooot of bad luck. His shooting stats didn’t dip at all when he got to Chelsea. He just couldn’t stop hitting the post or barely miss. There was one play where Torres got off a perfect bicycle kick; that beautiful play was robbed when it hit the post and Lampard tapped in the rebound.
    3. Chelsea’s lack of faith in him led to the team not wanting to provide to him as much. Refusing to let him take penalties, less touches of the ball, refusing to give him the ball when he made great runs. That would frustrate anybody.
It broke my heart as a football fan watching his prime years whither away.

Barcelona were all over Chelsea before Ramirez scored - also down to 10 men, not to mention they were going out hence they needed to attack which in turn would have given Barca even more space to do further damage. The goal by Ramirez allowed Chelsea to park the bus; which pushed Barca completely forward leading to Torres' goal.

Nothing happened!!! , this is life , rarely in life a person or a group of people or a team reaches the peak and stays there , it happens to everyone: musicians ,actors , movie directors, athletes, normal people,etc....
people reach a high level for a period of time because of different factors such as: Luck,The mood of that time,Being in a perfect mood to perform the right thing at the right time, Etc...
then people just become ordinary again,
Metallica in 1986 are not the same as today,
John Williams dose not compose music as he used to in the 80's,
Steven Spielberg dose not make movies as he used to,
Barcelona are not playing the same they used to play in 2009-2011
Maradona in 1986 is not the same as he was in 1990
Mercedes Benz don't create cars as good as they used to in the 60's ,70's,80's,90's,
    This is Life
Torres played in the highest level of football for more than a decade,
and he helped his teams locally and internationally to win great honors,
he always took care of his body as he was always fit physically and he always did what he should do as a player to play,
he trained he exercised , he put blood sweat and tears in the pitch and of it,
He won several major trophies such as:
    -World Cup
    -2 Euros(Scoring in two finals)
    -Champions League
    -2 Europa League
    -Cup with Chelsea
I hate this Americanizing of things where everything is measured in numbers,
sure numbers show some aspects of what a player dose on the pitch but it is not everything,
but you can put all the stats and numbers in the world but it will compare to nothing in regards in winning the world cup and 2 euros and Torres has done that
Torres carved his name in football history in the moment he scored the 2008 Euro winning goal in the final and he will always be remembered for that
as far as football legacy Torres has done well.

Don't know where you got the idea that Chelsea fans hated torres after his first year at the club. Everybody knew about his injury before he signed and the fans gave him every chance to come good and there were never any bad vibes from the terraces, in fact it was more the opposite and we were willing him on even more, the longer his scoring drought went on. Most Chelsea fans had nothing but love for torres and have only started to dislike him after what he said about the club when he left. And as others have already pointed out, Chelsea not Barca were qualifying for the Champions league final when he scored. Winning the corner that led to Drogba equalising in the final was far more important than that semi final goal

Unfortunately had Liverpool kept Torres they likely would never have signed Suarez.

His career may have gone downhill a bit, but looking back at his career, you still cannot help but be impressed at his achievements. He won every major trophy (except for a national championship title, oddly enough) with club and country, he has been capped more than 100 times for Spain and is among their top 3 all-time goalscorers, he's still the only player to have scored in two European Championship finals, he's a legend at both Liverpool and Atlético and he received a well-deserved hero's farewell at Atlético. Sure, it's a shame that he never was the same again after 2011, when he completely outclassed the likes of Philipp Lahm (as in 2008), but you'd be hard pressed to find a player as decorated as him (outside Spain's golden generation, that is), and I still admire him.

Spain was stacked back then. Villa, Torres, Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso, Puyol, Pique, Ramos, Valdez, Casillas. Arbeloa, Fabregas, Cazorla, Callejon. So many greats, no wonder they dominated and won back to back to back.

Yes, but liitle did Liverpool knew what they were doing wasting all the money on Carrol. Thank God for a backup plan, Luis Suarez.

@@animagusz Bullshit. They had been attacking hard the entire second half. Torres' goal was already in stoppage time. Statistically very unlikely that Barca would have scored, but we'll never find out. Torres' goal was for sure legendary

Some days ago I was thinking about him and where's him, I came to youtube a searched for that and the first videos was this one and I watched and it was so fun to notice that this video is not kind of sensationalist that I was thinking, only to get views but it's really awesome and realistic video.
I was just 11 or 12 when Fernando Torres was at the Highlights and I really loved the way that I played , but I also say thanks to him to gave us very good moments!
