      True , he always does different bowing, even on the same piece. Very interesting his Mendelssohn bowing for instance ❤

      It is because he does not follow Kreisler 's indications. But it sounds nice. Not exceptional.

    Wonderful. This is one of my favorite pieces to try to play. I love Gil Shaham's version. I will listen to this recording more than once.

    Yeah! so nice Pugnani it is. I would feel Pugnani might have played as like you. olden improvisation style in the 17 cent. so freely and passionate touch is beautiful. especially 16 note passages figuration is like talking about some grievous story.
    (91yrs.Japanese) when I was 19 years old, I heard Joseph Szigetti playing on encore inJapan1953 AD.

    I find it interesting that he starts on an upstroke, every other video I have seen the violinist starts with a downstroke.

    Is this dude from bizarro world or something? He begins Praelude.. up-bow WTF and begins Allegro down-bow LOL. Truly, you can do whatever you want as long as you can deliver the goods LOL! I've NEVER seen those bowings in my life. Fine playing though.

      Starting up bow does make the string crossings more natural.
