A sublime performance. Gil Shaham lives and enjoys every moment . And his enjoyment is infectious. Beautiful clean playing and he is so generous in his acknowkedgement of the conductor and the orchestra. A rare treat. Thank you
Gil is a true master of the singing line. The Hebrew word "chaim" applies well - alive in the moment, with an inner smile, showing humility and gratitude, and tapping into forces much greater than ourselves.
Beautiful music gifted to me with wonderful feeling to 82 years old Los Angeles enjoying lovely violin sounds. Thank you so much for remembering all of lovely music involving with emotional. God bless my lovely beautiful people. Thank you !
Sublime performance. Beautifully crafted! Among my most favourite renditions of this superb romantic violin concerto. Perfection & beyond into the realm of pure art. Thanks for the post. Jamshed Delvadavala Mumbai.
I simply LOVE his smile at 6:45!! This part, that goes until 8:00, is one of the greatest of all classical music. You can feel Shaham's joy while listening to it. Besides, this performance is stunning. I can't stop listening to it.
Gil Shaham is nothing short of fantastic. He makes everything seem so light, flawless. He understand every note of this piece - he once went for three minutes about the opening long note, coming from above - and he creates such a warm, giddy feeling on stage. I love both his accuracy, his exuberance, his showmanship, and his musicality. An overall true master of the craft!
Magnificent, Bravo Gil shaham! I love how he smiles and stares at the conductor and orchestra during the play. You made my day full of happiniess and joy. Maestro Gil shaham & Myungwhun Chung. Thank you!
Beautiful, bravo. So I guess one day Max went upstairs and found a box with the most beautiful melodies ever. Couldn't decide which one to put in his violin concerto so he used them all.
Such am animated soloist. Clearing have a ton of fun! Makes a big difference to not only the audience, but to orchestras members more importantly! Talking personal experience as a cellist, it's invigorating. THIS is why music is fun!
Interesting. As a deep lover of classical music but not knowledgeable about the players and technical issues always Interesting to here this things. I heard the Tchaikovsky violin concerto also deeply challenging. I'd imagine many pieces are challenging though.. How about the Britten one? Or the Berg?
Music gives meaning to sound, from meaning to sound, is born emotion. The Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26, is admired above all for its lyrical melodies, which were reflected in almost the full range of the instrument. The work was premiered with virtuoso violinist Joseph Joachim as soloist. The piece is not only Bruch's best known, but one of the most frequently performed of all violin concertos. The first movement of the sonata-like work « Prelude: allegro moderato » features the violinist performing impassioned solo passages alternating with a more solidly rhythmic, but sometimes ardent, orchestral voice. The second movement « Adagio » features three sentimental themes, which are explored and developed fairly equal through the solo and orchestral parts. The third movement fiery « Finale: allegro energico » is largely based on a vibrant theme that features a folk dance. The Violin Concerto has become a perennial favorite with audiences, to the detriment of Max Bruch. All my gratitude to the great violinist Gil Shaham for her beautiful execution. *Lucien*
This is our spoiled love child.....he can do no wrong....we almost lost him....t would have been a great loss....and nobody better make any smart comments about his lips.....!!!
@@romeovashishthviolin9384 yup....whisked cancer....made his looks change quite a bit....he still looks like a weak old man compared to 10 years ago....in fact nobody thought he was going to make it....
One of the easiest concerto. He's played it so many times in public (since he was 6 years old) I am surprised he can still stand it. Even more surprised he has the nerve to play something so easy and call it a concert. And he gets payed for playing it!
Gil Shaham is so gracious, the way he looks around at the orchestra in appreciation of their efforts.
I just love watching Gil play anything. His joy to be in there is so heartwarming.
A sublime performance. Gil Shaham lives and enjoys every moment . And his enjoyment is infectious. Beautiful clean playing and he is so generous in his acknowkedgement of the conductor and the orchestra. A rare treat. Thank you

I love how happy Gill looked during his playing. His smile was so pure and lovely.

Yes, it's a delight to watch him simply grin while playing the hardest parts of the piece flawlessly. He has the violin and this piece in his bones.

God bless you all
Gil plays so effortlessly. He is simply the best!
Look's like Gil is having a good time up there on stage. What a great piece of music. Thank you Max Bruch👍
At the end the concertmaster seems to be excited to have been there. He looks the age of someone who grew up listening to Gil Shaham's albums.
America, be proud of this most brilliant violinist. Israel be proud.
He makes playing the violin look easy. Awesome performance!
Very stressful time for me and this concerto is soothing my soul. Wonderful performance by Gil Shaham.

Well, you might want to compare to David Garrett with the orchestra of La Scala. There is fire behind it.
Could he use a more difficult bowing? I don't think so. Not even if he tried 😂
.

Weirdest bowings ever
thats your mannerism
