Cheap parts may get you by for a minute, but will end up costing you more in the long run. It did that to me.
The red neck probably spent more time welding that axle than going to the junkyard to find a replacement and by the way I like your videos you have helped me out in the past.
Excursion market is crazy with price, I got mine cheap and sunk a ton of money in an 01 with a 7.3, had the motor overhauled etc. body’s got some rust because it’s a northeastern truck but there’s a market for these vehicles and people pay crazy money for one. Love the advice he’s fortunate to have someone who knows his stuff. Around here I have one guy too that really knows these fords.
What egr kits do you like to use brand wise for 6.0? I'm not worried about passing emissions so not going the weld up the stocker route. Want it totally gone but all i can find are cheap no namers. Either the ones that replace the up pipe or just block it off is another question also. I've heard the block off plate ones stress the pipe and the can break. Just curious on your option.
6:04 good luck to the owner of that excursion taking a quote for repairs back the shady dealer. I ran into a similar issue with my wife’s new-to-her Edge. If you bought this “as-is”, you might be outta luck.

I thought I gave my Excursion a good look over, even drove it around some mountain roads, but with dirt you don't get very fast, so maybe 20 mph? it seemed to handle okay, but as it turned out, the entire front suspension was toast... the upside, is that it was a fire truck, and I found records that it was serviced regularly. the 2002 7.3 is stock and solid, with new suspension and tires, it runs straight now. I should have been suspicious when the owner dropped his asking price by $2,000 but I figured he was trying to compensate for a buyer who flew 2,000 miles to come look at it.

you have to be very careful out there! dragging beasts like that home, can be a total nightmare! He would be better off just to rent a truck for his holiday and then sort out that mess when he gets home, nothing will ruin a vacation when you have a 4 wheels of nothing but trouble.
Just pull, the right rear wheel drive axle shaft out, replace it with a new or junk yard shaft. Or replace the whole rear end and replace the head gasket. or block whichever or replace the motor with a Cummins with a $2000 conversion plate will bolt right up to the ford transmission. But because he still driving SUV he's already warped the heads. So on that note, just replace the right rear wheel drive axle shaft out of a junk yard. Is the cheapest way out. for him. And don't burn him a new Ass H, just because you can. He should sue the dealership for lemon law! Anytime you buy use you are buying someone else problems. But just look at the SUV it's been run hard and put up wet, Like I said before, He should sue them!!
@@johnnybegood6228 nothing wrong with the shaft, it was a brand new unit. Needs the axle outer hub shaft, new hub, bearings and seal. Plus heads, gaskets etc, oil cooler, transmission shifts like garbage plus all the rust. Not just a couple thousand dollar fix
@@KevinBogard just head gasket job is $2500. Typically I end up doing oil cooler up pipes etc which is $3000 labor but I will not use oem heads anymore, only KDD oringed heads

What bearings do you recommend for the rear if you bought new motorcraft hubs?

Hey boss, in your professional opinion would it be easier to put a 2016 Superduty cab onto a 2006 or put a 2006 6.0 into a 2016 truck?
@@Powerstroke431 only hard part is going to be getting 2016 instrument cluster to work with the 6.0 pcm and wiring. I would put the body on the 06
@AutomedicGarage There's guys putting 2016 dashboards in 99-07 trucks with wiring kits so a 2016 cab on a 2006 truck is definitely doable. Thanks
