My beloved Hydrostreams. Im 64 now and still own and recore them using stringers. The greatest performing V bottom of all time and most have a windshield to keep out the Northern Indiana air. T.Stark - Mishawaka, Indiana !!!!!
I'm just about 50 and I still have fond memories of running to the lake side of my grandmother's lake house every time I heard a V6 2stroke coming down the lake! Got a ride in a Viper with an inline first, after towing him a quarter mile when they ran out of gas. The next one was a Vegas with a modded 235 OMC and we probably hit 75mph really quickly while following the shoreline of a little island. Thing turned so hard I was holding on to the passenger grab rail big-time.. And then years later I have had like 6 Hydrostream's through the years.. and I miss every single one of them!
Yep, I saw that one.. definitely an AE21, and yes, exact same bottom half.. I had a pretty sweet HST and that was definitely one boat I should have hung on to and tried it out with some big HP!
Thank you for the video, I'm In the middle of a Panther full resto right now, with a viper under shrink wrap waiting her turn! I can't wait to let them rip!
From the driver perspective , the viper that is set up well will outperform a vector. The nose that is wacked and blunted makes an easier boat to store inside in the winter. I currently have 4 recored Vipers, and one recored V - king. I love the Viper for river racing !!
nah, Howard was talked out of the tunnel hulls early went to the modv, the early ones were for racing/selling and moved further towards selling as time went on. They're all a thrill, and nothing is made this way any more.
These hulls are amazing, the only problem is they all need to be restored because they were made too quickly. Show me a modern hull I can slap on a 200 pound in line 6 cylinder engine from the 1980s that cost under a thousand bucks sounds awesome, looks awesome and go over 70 mph.

i miss that vking i got from you a few years back! man that was fun!
Great video! Believe the HST is actually a Canadian Edition AE-21. But close enough (the hull is the same).
STILL NOT AN HST

Absolutely timeless..
re watching just dreaming of finding a tarantula one day
still miss you howard. copernicus
Virage Stage III...my favorite
Saving up for my first Hydrostream, possibly a Viking. For offshore use, do I want the tunnel hull, or a v hull? Thanks!!
I would go a 20ft Vegas or Vulture. All the oldboats will need to be recored, jigged up, then balanced during glass work. Patience is the key !
Muscle boats long island N.Y. teddy
Always wondered why you see more Vipers than Vectors?
Same boats, Viper just has nose cut off..

@@314899 also there were many classes for racing back in the day and the larger boats were not included
These hulls are no good

After maybe 45 seconds of the music, I turn this OFF!
