If you ever get stuck and can't get a bolt off without the air tools, take the screw out of the handle of your jack and put it over the end of the ratchet to get more leverage! P.S. This is the random guy that contacted you about the Craigslist Ad, hahah.
ESD really appreciate this video man, you've given me the courage to give it a go and save myself tons of money. I hate most mechanic shops and all dealership service centers!!!! #ThankYou
Thanks Samuel! I started out at 16 when i got my first car just doing basic things like oil changes. Since then I've tried to tackle jobs as my cars have needed things. It's been about 10 years of casual wrenching. I was fortunate enough to do an engine swap on my 240sx when I was 19. I learned a lot from that. My best advice would be to start with small jobs and go from there. Really the only way to learn is through experience, and don't be afraid to fail/ask for help, that's how you learn. I've had my fair share of failures :)
That's awesome. For sure man. I actually have a M45 so your videos are directly applicable to my car. Definitely keep up the good work and you will reach a much wider audience with your high quality content. Thanks again.
If you want the slotted and drilled rotors buy EBC Turbo Groove. They are expensive, but they do stay flat through their whole lifespan. They handle water splashes and car washes like a complete boss. No wonder people use them in rally.
Yep. You can apply this video pretty much to any vehicle with disc brakes. There can be a few nuances here and there but overall it's the same on all 4 corners.
I usually buy my parts from Rock Auto since they have a huge selection and typically competitive prices. I paid $25 a piece for the front rotors. I believe they were 'Centric' brand.
Do you still have this car? How would you rate the ride comfort? I'm looking for a commuter that's fun to drive where is be doing 80 to 90 pct highway driving.
It's pretty comfortable. If you're wanting ride comfort though, I would get an LS430 or something like that though instead. It will ride better and probably be more reliable.
@@EatSleepDrive yeah I've looked at the ls430 and the es350 but they are so boring looking and really common where I live. I've always been a Nissan guy anyway.
SLIDER PINS need high temp silicon lube else your caliper won't slide as it should... hard brakes, inner pad wear ... BOTH SIDES brakes need to be equal wear to provide straight braking... 👍
Hi EatSleepDrive,I have a question… I have a M 45 I'm getting a code reading P0171, Sometimes my car is really lean it feels like it wants to go. I use my diagnostic machine it said bank one two lean. Does that mean bank one sensor two?
Bank 1 on this engine refers to the driver side. Since it's a v8 and the car has two headers, it also has 2 oxygen sensors. The oxygen sensors can tell whether or not the engine is running lean or rich on that side of the engine. Your code is telling you that the passenger side cylinders are running lean. This is often caused by a vacuum leak or a fueling issue(maybe bad injector) or maybe even the oxygen sensor itself is bad. I would start with the cheapest thing which would be checking all the hoses for tightness and cracks. Maybe you'll find a hose that is cracked and it's causing your issue. Good luck!

Excellent. Helpful video, everything applied to my 2007 M35X. Thank you.
I have an old Q45. Just did the brakes after watching the video. Awesome!!! Thx for the help. Great job.
Same
R1 concepts is the way to go for these brakes.
Gotta do my 07 m35 soon as rock auto delivers em
really detailed video... wonderful job man!
Thank you sir!
I've got the same car, but with all black interior. Really good car. Thanks.
I wish my interior was black rather than tan. I agree though, great car.
Looks really easy, gonna do it on my 2006 m35
Thanks EatSleepDrive! Great video! What brand & model of pads and rotors did you use or do you recommend? I have a 2006 M45 Sport. Thanks again!
I used Powerstop Ceramic. Great for daily drivers and the price is very responsible in my opinion.
EatSleepDrive.... And which rotor brand did you get?
Awesome vid, me too same
You seem to be really experienced and knowledgeable with cars. How long have you been learning about and working on cars?

+darek4488 EBC makes good stuff, good call!
Anti-seize will loosen your bolts over time. Thread locker will guarantee a smoother untightening for the next guy.
is it the same think for the rear rotors???

thanks for video....I have a 2008 M45, do you have warranty on your M45?... my car has 111233 miles.
My warranty is long gone :(
You can change a single bank that I break and I need to know if you can
What parts did you use?
So when are we going to see more vids of the Y50?
No sir, she has since moved on.
Oh I'm sorry , I see the cars I purchase seem to get moved on by others; This is very common with Spec V's :(
I have a problem of always wondering what else is out there. I admire people that hang on to cars, I just can't do it.
It's cool I've only had my m45S since last Nov. I get it...
I will say I miss the v8 noises.... Enjoy it!
i need to do this .. how much are the rotors ?

awsome thanks again
Happy to help. Good luck!
I'm having trouble with those two 22mm also. Whoever replaced this before did a crappy job and didn't use a torque wrench.
should probably grease the slide pins for the caliper so they don't stick and wear the brake pads uneven.

@@cyclonus01 The M45 is a great alternative if you don't want to go with the ubiquitous LS Toyota.
I was hoping this car had a bigger nice looking caliper.
thanks
I fought with my pads for an hour and realised they were made poorly in China and had to remove 1mm of extra metal.
