I love Kuantan. Used to hang around there in my youth. Kuantan has a cool seaside town vibe.
Your bahasa melayu has gone up another level! _Hujung minggu,_ wow! 😅👍👏👏👏
I guess now you can expand on that, to form longer, common phrases, eg: the locals like to _santai di hujung minggu_ (chill out during weekends), and _hujung minggu ramai orang santai di tepi pantai_ (on weekends many people chill out by the beach) 👍

Some people mentioned Kaya toast originates from Singapore. They do not even have coconut plantations to make Kaya.

Redang , Perhentian , Langkawi are truly among best beach/ island in peninsular Malaysia. Calm, white sand and clear blue water, those are the reasons why local recommended you guys to visit there. Teluk Cempedak is hip and happening but water visibility quality is not as good as those mention above.

Oh man, I'm in UK until later in the year, otherwise I probably could have invited you two for raya open house! Too bad, maybe some other malays would offer you the invite, especially ones outside of KL or any of the big cities. But then if it's somebody from KL who celebrate raya in their hometown, then probably you would also get the opportunity to sample our yearly _balik kampung_ vibes, akin to going home for christmas but different at the same time!

D Teluk Cempedak beach looked really lovely with crowd of people, it's coming back to life after d years of lockdown.
I was surprised myself to see lots of fastfood restaurants by d beach when I visited d beach in 2014, d year I moved to Kuantan from KL. D beach has changed so much since d 1970s.
It’s really developed! But it’s retained so much beauty! So nice!

Kuantan has a really laid back vibe. You can rent a car and drive towards Beserah, Balok (these are villages along the way) or till Kemaman (Trengganu) and you can just drive off-track to the different beaches. Since you guys are comfortable talking to the locals, just go ahead and ask for food recommendation

Go to Sepat Beach..just the other side of town across the tanjung lumpur bridge... Ask the local, they ll show you😅

Ahhh, genuinely it’s a good city for cafes. Such good food, cafe and vibes. Genuinely, a city we could live in I reckon
Kuantan is destined to grow.
First, the East Coast Rail Link is targeted to be completed by 2027. That makes Kuantan and the whole east coast more accessible from KL.
Then there is the massive Chinese investment to expand Kuantan port. And to set up an industrial estate nearby.
Hopefully the local govt has a masterplan for the next 20 years. An ART would definitely help. One that connects the airport, the railway station, the bus station and possibly the port.

Teluk Chempadak…. Seems like u guys were are at the main 2 beaches, the first is highly developed and the second attract more crowd now after the wooden connection has been built. For more quiet beach experience, either 1) go all the way towards the right at the 1st beach 2) there’s a 3rd beach which u had to go through a forestry at the end of 2nd beach. This beach is marvellous (5-7 years ago)
Fishing = Memancing/Pancing ikan.

0:46 Actually Pat in good kaya toast, the butter is ice cold, so it's not spread over the toast but rather cut into a slab, place over the kaya and sandwiched between two toasts.
Four criteria for the best kaya toast IMHO :
1. Thick slices of bread - three-quarter inch is about right;
2. Toasted over traditional charcoal grill until crusty on the outside but still soft inside;
3. Home made kaya spread generously over one of the toasts; and
4. A slab of cold butter sandwiched between the two toasts.

The River Cruise, i was told the best experience is the night cruise, whereby you can see crocs as well as fireflies…. But limited though, coz such it has to be right condition, like non-rainy, low tide….. that’s nature i suppose
boat go nyooom . and go to beach too ? thats what i called travelling to country and their state is 😁 and yeah bcuz lot of people free on saturday and sunday . it tent to have more lively in places u can relaxed and hv fun

Giulia fishing in Malay is Pancing Ikan.. Pancing is basically a term when you throw the fishing rod into the water..
Yup, but don't throw your fishing rod man, no matter how frustrated you get after spending hours and still not a single fish takes a bite! 😬
Pancing is actually both verb and noun. So the act of casting the fishing rod is also pancing, or memancing, and the fishing rod itself is also pancing (synonym: joran)

Pahang is more towards rainforest. Terengganu more on beautiful islands

YEH EVEN US THE PAHANGNESE ARE NOT THAT IMPRESSED WITH KUANTAN BECAUSE JUST LIKE THE BRITISH WE MALAYSIAN ARE VERY JUDGY AND CYNICAL ABOUT OUR OWN CITIES XD. THE ONLY TIMES I'VE BEEN TO KUANTAN IS FOR SOME GOVERNMENT STUFF BUSINESS OR JUST GOING TO A SHORT BEACH BREAK. CUZ KUANTAN IS LIKE WHERE MOST OF THE STATES GOVERNMENT OFFICE ARE LOCATED. NOT MUCH TO DO UNLESS YOU WANNA GO SHOPPING.
