I’ve been watching some white tail up here in northern bc, trying to figure out what they’ll be eating this time of year. No major ag fields around, just natural browse. I did find a big field of blueberries while scouting a month ago, would they be feeding on that? I’m worried about stomping into that area and spooking them more than I already have.
If I have my trail camera out and haven't seen any deer, should I move my camera to a new spot? My dad owns a 20 acre land and the spot I placed the camera had many deer come thru the last few years, but this year nothing has showed up. We have acorns dropping already but I don't think they are hitting them yet.
They have better food, cover, water, or security somewhere else. Your trick is to give them the best of at least one of these during hunting season. Assess the area and figure out what you can do better than the other places around you.
If you have an excess amount of does on your property and not as many bucks you may need to harvest more does as it makes the bucks not have to travel as much to mate
I am so excited about upcoming season, I have been working on habitat improvements all year.
Great content

Great video, but where did you get that target stand?
Woody - one of my friends that's a talented welder made it for us!

Deer are chasing acorns at my place!! I'd scout for fresh sign and move the camera based on what you find.
How can we fight the ticks,
Mosquitoes and chiggers?
Permethrin and thermocell for mosquitos.
@@jonesoutdoors9901 tried it. Permethrin wont work
Frequent prescribed fire on a large enough scale helps reduce tick populations.
@@GrowingDeerTV we have chiggers problem for 2-3 years in southern KS, and it’s getting worse every year
I have not had any bucks on camera , hope they show up soon. Any thoughts why I'm not seeing any?

@@williamjames8818 I see doe family groups and small bucks , usually I get the bucks crossing trail into woods but so far, not this year 😕
@@greggilliland5698 I might have to sneak in and see if something is blocking the way...
