First thing I do when I reach my hunting destination when I turn the truck off I put on powder free nitrile surgical gloves and don’t come off till I turn truck on to leave. All my clothes are kept in air tight containers including backpack binos rubber boots ANYTHING made of some type of cloth. I use Scentlok clothing exclusively, I completely undress 10 degrees or 80 degrees outside my truck. I know it’s not fool proof but I bet it gets 80%. All my towels bed sheets pillow case underwear is washed in unscented detergent. I start 2 days before hunting trip ( I go to Nebraska for 3 weeks In my trailer) I’m retired 68)showering in unscented soap. I do all this because it’s fun for me (my wife thinks I’m crazy) but it sure can’t hurt. By the way I have 5 farms all to my self (families) and 28 ladder stands and been saddle hunting over 30 years so have virtually unlimited places to hunt depending on weather. Good luck to all this year. 🦌🦌🏹🏹
@@bryanmoorefield8890 wow that’s DEDICATION! The key thing you said though “it’s fun for me”. That’s awesome and something definitely to take into account. Thanks for watching and good luck this season!!!!
I often wonder how my grandpa and his cigar smoking woolrich buffalo checkered jacket wearing buddies managed to tag out each year at deer camp… those were the days…
My opinion and routine. Unless you're hunting hilltops, you're always going to deal with a wind swirl occasionally. Reducing scent as much as possible is critical imo. I very much pay attention wind direction and hunt with it in my favor. I wash all my gear in unscented soap. It goes from there, to my homemade ozone closet that I made for like $80. I wear Scent Lok head to toe and properly cared for. Nothing i wear in the woods gets worn in the house or my truck. I'd never believe that i get anywhere close to 100% scent free, because I don't believe that's possible. But to me, its about reducing as much as i can, so that a swirly wind doesnt ruin it for me.
@@ericlongbeard I’m with ya! I’ve found in hill country, playing the thermals to your advantage definitely helps, always gonna have that time or two when it swirls and what not, Thanks for watching!!!
I think the scent control sprays may help reduce your scent , along with washing your clothing in scent control detergents. They probably won't eliminate your scent , but it will help reduce your scent. Paying attention to the wind direction is certainly a very important factor when deer hunting and cannot be stressed enough. I use scent spray and try and use the wind to my advantage when hunting.
ABSOLUTELY!!!! You and I are in the same boat, I think people forget about the wind sometimes, when honestly its the tried and true method of deer not smelling you. THANKS FOR WATCHING!!
in my opinion all that scent control stuff is just a bunch of bull I'm sure there is some things you can do that can help but I think paying attention to the wind is #1. also kind of funny to me that you mentioned that you think the spray helps a little bit with ground scent because of deer walking in front of a camera like 30 minutes after you did because I had that happen to me and I never used any kind of scent control but it was a doe and a small buck so I'm not sure if that means anything or not lol
Best way I’ve found is keep hunting clothes in totes boots in a tote or bag alone …….shower with odor eliminating soap Wear base layer and crocks in the vehicle get dressed before entering tge woods …. Evercalm bedding on my boots qwik spray with scent eliminator and a qwik spray earth or pine cover scent on my back pack …. And lastly 100 percent play the wind and hunt smart
@@everythingoutdoors-vl9bl All valid points. I used to do just about every one of those but now I kinda just do the 1st and last one. Thanks for watching!!
Your videos in the future would be more enjoyable if You were to chose an area without all the traffic background noise which in my opinion is a distraction.
@@sheltonheath9165 I hear you 100% with that, I had no idea how sensitive the external mic I put on the camera is. From now on not using it around my house 😄

@@gunhubgaming Dude I couldn’t agree more!! Like I said I don’t think it can hurt with the spray but you can’t rely on it.
