The case design is better and I like that the default color is black, not silver. However, the decision not to go with the 5900HS is puzzling. 35 watt chips make so much more sense for portable laptops. I keep waiting for one that can run decently on USBC (so under 100 watts). I think the g15 can do it in silent mode. The ultimate travel/plane laptop will have to wait for next gen it appears.
Hey Jarrod, thanks so much for the comprehensive and detailed breakdown. I'm expecting mine next week (3070 model) and I have question about external monitor use: If you use an external monitor, would you recommend running the laptop opened or closed? If the laptop is open, I would assume thermals would be slightly better, as the heat has more space to dissipate. However, I'm not sure if running both the internal and external displays will degrade performance? At the same time, running the laptop connected to a monitor and closed, could increase thermals?
I know you had mentioned in previous comments that you were primarily focusing on gaming laptops first and foremost, so I may well be answering my own question. But I would love to see you cover the new gen 4 thinkpad p1 coming later this summer. I’m curious to see what wattage 3080 they’ll use, how the thermals will be for gaming, and how it stacks up compared to other strictly gaming oriented laptops. Not sure what the screen and refresh rate options will be (looks like 16:10 UHD or QHD but no refresh rates yet). It would be the dream setup if it could hold its own as a gaming laptop and a decent workstation for my engineering course work. I wish more gaming laptops could have that understated/professional look. It’s only a matter of time until I give one of my professors a seizure from all the rgb spamming on my Alienware laptop boot up
But do you have any concerns regarding the thermals? Razers are notorious for getting their batteries bloated and many claim the lack of heat-isolation works in this regards. there are some +90 temps with 21 degress ambient. I'm really concerned for that the system will throttle a lot when it's hotter in the summer and for the reliability of the device. Nice review!

So you can connect up to 3 displays at the same time? 1 HDMI, and 2 DP via Type-C, or one of the Type-Cs lose the DP when one of them are already utilized?
Can you recommend a laptop, mainly used for shows, light gaming and light work that's fairly new but doesn't cost an arm/leg. I have a pc but I would like a laptop to take a break from my chair and for travel

@@sentryion3106 it's more of a gaming device. I mean more like XPS17. Color accurate 4k 16:10 panel. Just about time they get more 4k panels to run at 120hz
Hey, great review! Can you tell us ways in which we can check which ram does my laptop has- the slower one(like in legion 5 pro) or the faster one( like legion 7). I have the Asus Scar 15 btw.
3:40 this is especially ironic when I asked Lenovo why my YOGA 9i (GTX 1650 Ti) cannot charge via USB-C despite it supports PD, and they told me 100W is not enough to power it. Perhaps I need a 3080 in my laptop too🤔
Great review! Based on your findings what would you recommend is the best settings to leave the laptop at for a balance of good performance and good temps, but not too loud of fans?
Are u gonna review the dell g15 5515?
Would these razer blades be good for video editing too? Primarily DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro.

@@JarrodsTech thanks! Don’t know how I missed how.
Will you be reviewing the new Intel 11th Gen Razer Blade 15 Advanced? I would love it if you can.
Hey Jarrod, if connecting to an external monitor, would there be an airflow/ cooling advantage to sitting the laptop upside down?
So you can connect up to 3 displays at the same time? 1 HDMI, and 2 DP via Type-C, or one of the Type-Cs lose the DP when one of them are already utilized?
So are you one of those crazy people (in a good sense, don't take it otherwise) using 3 monitors?
Have you considered an UW instead?
@@sushimshah2896 I'm not using as such, just asking. What gives you the right to make assumptions and judge?
This laptop is the main character
Can you recommend a laptop, mainly used for shows, light gaming and light work that's fairly new but doesn't cost an arm/leg. I have a pc but I would like a laptop to take a break from my chair and for travel
Do you think Razer will also make a larger 15 inch or 17 inch blade with the same Ryzen CPU and RTX GPUs?
I hope so!
I have a Blade 15 QHD with 10875h + 3080. Seems like this setup is having the same performance with the following deltas:
1 hour or so more of battery
No g-sync on the 14
No thunderbolt on the 14
Is there anything else I have missed?
Eagerly waiting for the S17 review. 🙂
That will be coming up this week 🙂
this man deserves more subs than Austin Evans
Could you please do the S17 gx703 i want to know the temps performance and battery life i am leaning towards alienware x15 or Asus Rog s17 gx 703
when could you do a review of the legion slim 7? I've seen it available on different websites but I've barely seen any content or reviews about it.
Looks so good, but I'm still so fearful of Razer CS. If they got their stuff together, I'd be all over their laptops because they look amazing.
You can always get a warranty for it in case something does happen (I'd personally suggest this route for nearly any brand as quality control is all over the place, to be honest). I've had my 3070 Blade 14 for about 2 and a half months now and it's been excellent aside from some weird initial setup issues and some games making the chassis warm.
What would be better? This laptop u showed us or a M1 max MacBook (with windows installed to play games)
@@pr00b thank you because people been saying how crazy the new M1 max MacBook is for gaming and I wanna game so I was gonna download windows on their but razer blade it is
@jarrod
No "negative points" for a missing MUX Switch ?
Amazing microphone 🎤
Please test another laptop from another DreamMachines company, model RX3080-17NA36, this model with the new RTX 3000 and 11th generation CPU does not have reviews on RUclips, but I really want to buy it!
Hey jarrod, are razer sending you the new razer blade 15 advanced with 11th gen Intel cpus?
when will you review the new dell x15 and x17?
Beware of the spicy pillows lol
Can I consider blade 14 over Asus x13 flow
10:40 "Yeah, this top end Blade 14 probably costs more"
Try *$1300* more. 3060 G15 is $1500 vs $2800 3080 Blade 14.
> 3060 vs 3080
yeah not exactly a fair comparison there
Blade 14 slimmer but heavier than g14 🤔
chonk thonk
Vapor chamber. it has more copper probably/cooling is more beefy
which is a good thing for gamers! more metal=better cooling and the chassis is aluminium, G14 is plastic body i am not mistaken
Razer makes one of the best built windows laptops ,off course for a premium price......
@@samarthbhat7889 it’s not plastic too. Unibody magnesium alloy.
It's math bro 😂
Hey Jarrod , do you have experience with battery bloat, especially in razer laptops? I plan to buy a blade 17 soon, and would love to have some insight on it.
No, but it is a brand new laptop that I only used for a couple of weeks so I never expected this to happen within that period.
@@JarrodsTech Yeah I guess so. Would love to see the 11th gen blade review from you, hopefully that's something you would consider!
I want to see a video where you compare the performance and differences between different desktop 3080 vs laptop version 3080. Is it really OK to call the portable 3080 the same as the desktop version?
when is the asus m16 review coming ?
