    In case you were wondering, this laptop can use the 100w Gan charger and still get 90W TGP. Just restart the computer with it plugged in to the Gan only. It's bananas I use razer 130w Gan for gaming it rocks. After it restarts, the synapse software locks it to balanced mode. Way better for travel.

      Have you validated what power it's actually pulling from the Gan charger? I have the Razer Gan (assuming yours is too) and the RB14 and saw same behaviour when rebooting with it attached however when checking with a USB-C meter I can see it's only pulling 70w at best and the battery is taking a pounding when you game in this config. I rasied a ticket with Razer which went on for far too long and they ended up offering to swap my laptop which I've so far declined as I dont think it has anything to do with the laptop. Be very interested to know if you tested yours using a USB-C meter and saw close to the stated 100w because I couldn't get it to do that.

    I’ve had the 3070 version since July and I’ve had absolutely zero problems with it. I travel it around in my backpack to my university. Very lightweight and practical. No hassle to pull this laptop out of my pack. Quick startup and handles my AutoCAD work like a beast, I’ve never had the AutoCAD program push this laptop past 1.8-2 GHz during extensive amounts of time. The fans are not audible when it’s running on battery power, which is a plus when I’m in class. The speakers could use some tuning, which is the downside of this if you plan to watch something with a group of people. I have absolutely no issues with the display size, I think it’s quite good for gaming. During gaming the laptop does get hot near the touch pad and at the top of the keyboard. The place where the cooling is located remains at all times cold to the touch though. On a side note, my battery hasn’t bloated yet :).

      One year update pretty much. I got this laptop at the end of July, still going strong. Everything works like when I first turned it on. Battery hasn’t bloated lol. Only thing I hate throughout this whole year of using it is the fingerprints 🥲. But other than that, everything is fine 👍. Handled my 8 hour floor plan project on AutoCAD for college last semester XD.

    For anyone wondering why they went with 16GB soldered RAM, it's a space issue, by soldering it they were able to fit both of the RAM chips in the same space as a single SODIMM slot which is great for making the device smaller/slimmer (and boosting performance compared to say a G14 which only has single channel RAM installed from the factory), however it has the drawback that making a 32GB version would require RAM chips with twice the capacity.

      I've had the R14 with 3070 for a few months now and i'm very close to returning it. Everything has exceeded my expectation except the mega erratic touchpad. When scrolling down with 2 finger, the screen just jumps up or jitters down. Its so frustrating. I've removed/reinstalled synapse and well as trying to update all drivers without joy. Searching online for "Razer erratic touchpad" yields many results by no real solution. Hopefully you've not had any issues with the scrolling on the touchpad ?

      The one on the Blade however is a normal dive board trackpad. However, it's pretty premium feeling with a satisfying click. It also has a glass surface and tracking is smooth for the most part, but it's still not as good as Apple's. Hope this was informative!

      4K monitor would be horrible for gaming, Generally speaking 4K is only 60 hrz and secondly almost all even if it was full powered 140w 3070 or a full powered 3080, it wouldn’t produce the best fps due to the power restraints of a Laptop GPU.. I love this laptop, Blade 14 3070 is the perfect model as the GPU is 100w.
    The only thing I would wont to see in the future and wished this system had was.
    Add 1-5mm thickness, this will allow more air volume for the Vapor Chamber, this also should allow the room for a 32g Ram and a small subwoofer underneath to add a more premium sound quality overall. The only next big gripe I have, is no option to disable Optimus on the screen..Besides this, this is near perfect.

    If Razer Blade 14 came in white model I would buy it anyday, but doing so will hinder their MyBook sales, so they will never do that unless they scrap MyBook lineup which does worse than XPS/Macbook I think given the price/performance
    Right now the major issue with blade 14 and maybe even 15 is
    Some people want RAM of 32GB
    16:10
    Mercury White colour
    Price not being super expensive compared to Asus G14/15
    Better battery
    Better customer service/repair (Customer service can be fixed, but I understand repair side is harder given they are a smaller company)

    My question is : is 16GB of RAM enough if I'm opening a bigger number of tabs in Firefox? I'm doing it on daily basis. I'm sure this is not exactly what this laptop is built for, but I'm doing this as well. I just don't want to run out of memory. So should I buy or should I wait for the next-gen Razer Blade 14, this time hopefully with 32 gigs?

    • @illiameleshko179
      @illiameleshko179 Год назад

      32GB is only required, when you work with heavy software, like a CAD- or Modeling-Programs, Photoshop and other. Until you don’t plan to do a big detailed projects in any of these software, 16GB is an okay option. Using Firefox with 30+ opened tabs is not a biggest task for a laptop, so it will handle it without any problems

      They definately swell and its not just their laptops. I dont know if the issues are with items built in 2018, but its a real issue so....if your thinking about dipping your toes in the pond, I would definately factor in the cost of a good extended warranty. They dont want to acknowledge it and if you bring it up on their forums they will lock it down or only communicate with DM.s. Not impressed with their quality at all.

      I had to replace my Razer Blade 15 2018 battery just last summer. I have the 2060 i7 8750h 144hz combo. It was a relatively painless process, 6 screws and it was done. To be honest, I'm not sure if it was my fault or not, I'm pretty rough on this laptop, and the fans can only handle so much. I leave it plugged in 95% of the time. I play pretty graphically intensive games for 4-5 hours a day, every day, and this is my only computer, so everything else I do is on it as well. Editing videos/photos, playing games, watching youtube, everything happens here. I play ARK, Bloons, LoL, Rocket League, Valorant, Call of Duty, Cyberpunk, Assassins Creed, Fallout, VR games, whatever. On a medium to high setting on pretty much any of these games, I run about 70-78 degrees C.

    • @donaldisidor
      @donaldisidor 2 года назад +1

      @@grabherbythesushi8570 I’ve kept my laptop plugged in all the time as well but I rarely if ever play games on it, especially not traveling for 18 months or more. If you engineer a laptop and you design it with components that cannot be adequately cooled off consistently then that’s on Razer and not the customer. Playing games on a gaming laptop isn’t being rough on it, neither is keeping it plugged in. These laptops are packed with power that will drain that battery in no time flat under real load. Especially for what I ended up using it for, there was no real reason for the battery to fail like it did, not to mention the phone. Maybe I would feel differently if not for customers across various sites commenting on a similar experience.
