I have lost my love of cooking healthy food since I began caring for my mother full time, around 4 years ago. She is moving into a nursing home next week and my first plan of action is to look after ME again! I feel like I’m starting from scratch again and my husband refuses to eat anything even remotely healthy. I need some quick healthy meals that I can throw together for myself that will get me back to a decent level of health xx

I find it helps to have difficult people help with the menu planning. Print out some recipes you like with pictures and have them pick one or two. If they insist on an entree that doesn't work for you make sure you plan it for when you will have leftovers from a previous meal that did work.

I’ve had 2 pancreatic cancer scares in the past 3 years. Last November I had a large cyst removed from my pancreas and thank God it was non cancerous. I’m having to have a MRI every 6 months to keep an eye on my pancreas.
My GI doctor told me healthy eating would be life saving for me and then I found you on RUclips. I started making your cranberry chicken salad and protein balls. My blood glucose had been in the upper 300’s and now my glucose average is 141.
I’m 57 years old and I started learning to cook southern food when I was 10 years old from the older women in my family back in the 70’s. Everyone calls me to ask questions about cooking and I catered company dinners around Christmas for 20 years so I’m an awesome cook.
On the other hand nothing is harder than trying to learn to cook healthy when you’ve been a southern cook for 47 years.
It has been foreign to me for years.
I had to relearn how to shop also.
In the long run it’s saved my life!
I’ve lost 20lbs and I’m feeling so much better.
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I’ve learned so much from you. I posted a picture of my protein balls on Facebook 3 weeks ago and I’ve gotten multiple messages asking for the recipe. I just send them a screenshot of your RUclips page.
Thanks again! You’ve really helped me! ❤️

Sure to eat all the colors, create a beautiful plate of God's nutrition, and once in awhile enjoy the sweets he also wants us to enjoy. Everything said in this video is common sense. It truly is not complicated at all ~

Dani, I recently dealt with my eating disorder. I couldn’t stop eating snacks like Smart popcorn, Hersheys kisses, etc. When I shopped for groceries, I always threw a snack in my cart and I would tell myself it was okay to do so because I eat mostly healthy\ish home cooked meals, so what’s the harm. Then, I realized I couldn’t stop snacking. One day, after a stressful incident, I immediately went to my kitchen to grab a snack. I was tired at failing. I knew if I ate the snack, I would only feel worse. I had tried so many different methods to control my eating habits. As I was about to eat, I asked myself, “Wait, why are you eating?” I had to pause and I truly had to think about why I was eating. Do you want to know what came out of my mouth, I said, “I just want to feel better.” It was my ‘ahh moment”. I didn’t realize that I was eating to feel better. I cried, and I felt compassion for myself. I didn’t understand why I was harming myself. I just needed to know why I had a food addiction. I am still working on finding ways to protect myself from stress and anxiety. Because I have a teen son who enjoys an occasional snack, I still have to keep them in the house. But I still enjoy an occasional fun food, and when I feel the temptation to eat the wrong food, I grab an apple or banana. As a recovering addict, I need to do that to keep me away from stumbling. Thank you for everything you do. 😊

I have a coach who helps me with good food choices and slowly increasing exercise.I use a fitbit to help quantify my exersise. I seek out inspirational videos that are based in the healthy realm for successful weight loss and easy recipes to reach my dietary goals. I do a low carb diet...but not keto. A great segment! What works for me is the 80-20 rule. Eat healthy 80% of the time and my favorites 20%. I find it best to have half of my plate with veggies along with a palm full of protein but as you stated, this depends upon an individual's activity level and requires adjustment.

I received a Food Saver vacuum sealer as a gift. So now I will buy a big bag of organic sweet potatoes, and/or a big bag of organic rust potatoes, bake them all, then cut in small pieces and freeze portions of them. I seal them in the vacuum bags. I do this with all kinds of cooked food now. I’ll cook a double batch of something and freeze half to use in another two weeks or so. Another good one is turkey meat. I’ll buy the 3 pound container of turkey meat cook it all with taco seasonings divide it up and freeze. I’ll Use some for that week and freeze two other pounds to use later on.

I've been a life-long dieter and tried many different things, and nothing really worked for me. But I feel I've grown wiser or gotten more educated on the subject of "dieting" and what's more important to me now is being healthy to prolong my life... hoping to not end up with something that threatens my health or longevity. I've been focused on whole food eating and I'm losing some weight, feeling more energetic, less achy. I have a long way to go but I'm enjoying how it's making me feel. However, it is confusing what you see and hear. A certain Dr. says don't eat whole grains, oats, tomatoes etc. and others such as yourself say it's ok. To my knowledge I'm not having any bad side effects 🤷‍♀. And maybe that Dr. is right about things but like you said I do what I feel is right for me and what works. And right now it's extremely better than how it was. I mean I was addicted to Starbucks, loved french-fries and pizza, occasionally ice-cream... I now avoid all that and enjoy healthy foods I make. Knowing what's in my meals makes me feel better.

Hi Dani! I am an early childhood educator and I teach children who are four and five years old. I have the opportunity throughout the year to teach the children about nutrition and healthy choices. Also, every February our dental clinic comes to our classroom and teaches the children about proper dental hygiene, and the foods they should and shouldn’t eat. They would call the foods, “good” foods and “bad” foodsI told them that we do not have “good” foods and “bad” food, we have “always“ foods and “sometimes” foods. Through time I finally converted them to saying it the way that I say it because the children would not understand because I had already taught them that we can try everything. We just want to have the always foods more often.
Thanks for the information you always share. It helps me understand and have ideas about healthy eating.

I need help recently diagnosed with EPI and Fatty liver disease. This is in addition to other ailments. I have been trying to eat as much healthy whole foods. I quit drinking which was hard it was my relaxation and it sucks. My favorite food is french fries, lately I feel like all I have done is sacrifice and the scale moves oh so slowly and I can tell if I messed up. I need to live healthy but happiness counts too.

The small changes all add up. Just adding a piece of fresh fruit every day. Eating one less slice of bread a day. Drink more water. They are small things but gradual change is easier I think. ❤

What are your thoughts on seed oils like rapeseed and sunflower in a whole foods diet? I ask as a lot of healthy food items like houmous, pesto, etc which are seen as healthy things to have but contain these oils. Just makes it more difficult to even attempt having a healthy diet for fear of knowing if a food is healthy or not if that makes sense?

    The struggle is extremely real😢
I stopped at the supermarket to pick up organic salad dressings and the ingredients took me out. Everything is so processed and ingredients I can't even pronounce. Living in the states now I can no longer walk in my backyard and picked whatever fruits and vegetables I wanted. Even as an adult now I had to start adding more berries since those has less sugar than my other favorite fruits😢 As an adult, food are also digested different due to my slower metabolism 😏😶

I have had a liver transplant but still can’t get creative with food. I need 60 =70 grams of lean protein per the physician. I live on Oatmeal, Greek Yogurt, chicken salad. I am also on a low sodium (2000mg/day) diet; no sugar restrictions; Prime Rehydration drink x 2
I hope you can help me learn something? 12:33

It’s so hard to eat healthy on a mixture of gruelling day & night shifts! Can you offer any assistance? Snacks, salads, sandwiches? Packed lunch ideas so we’re not heading for fast food take-out vans! Please 🙏 on behalf of the South Western Ambulance Service ❤

I struggle with cooking. I don't feel that I am good at it, and in fact have started several small fires. Also, when I cook usually it comes out not tasting great because I don't know what seasonings to use with which foods. I want to eat much better, but I have zero skills.
