It’s really hard when you still live with your parents and you have to eat whatever is for dinner And what that is, is most of the time really unhealthy
This was my entire childhood and is the reason I was overweight growing up. I make enough money now to buy my own healthy food and the weight is coming off. Currently 9 pounds down in 5 months. Dedicated to make sure when I have kids they eat healthy too so that that doesn't happen to them too
My mom yells at me if I even want to start a diet it the “manipulative mom complex” I learned to ignore her and I now do it with my 24 year old brother
I'm crying my eyes out. I needed this. I'm trying to have a healthier lifestyle because diabetes and high blood pressure runs in the family. Plus I have an anxiety disorder. I went to a doctor on Friday and she basically judged me because I'm not fast enough in losing weight (I started a new diet with a Profesional nutritionist, I'm in my 3rd month) and the way she said made me feel so bad, I've been in a terrible mood for the last few days. Feeling guilt about what I eat, if I get hungry, watching everything I eat in an unhealthy way. I talked with my nutritionist about this and she calmed me down, but I was still anxious. And watching this just made me burst into tears. Thank you for teaching in such a kind and empathetic way.

I like calorie counting but i get how it may not be the best for everyone. I don't eat alot, I have mental illnesses that sometimes when I'm in a crisis I don't feel hungry for days (So I can't do intuitively eating or follow my hunger), which leads me to passing out. amd I also feel very nauseous all the time because of my tumor treatment (which also doesn't make me want to eat) , so I started calorie counting so I can meet my daily calorie count. (so it's not about restrictions for me). I don't force myself to eat or not eat. In the beginning I just observed, and my daily calorie intake to maintain weight is 1500 (I weight 121 now), and I noticed that some days I had as little as 600 calories. And now when I meet my calorie count for a meal I feel happy! I have an app called Lifesum, it's much more focused on health then calories.
If you have a healthy deficit you will lose weight and it will be sustainable. The only way you lose weight is a calorie deficit its just the way the human body works. If you eat less than you bur you'll lose wieght.

Thank you Dani! Been on this journey about 7 months. Started cardiac rehab and finished that and moved to a gym. Your tips, videos, and recipes are becoming some of my back pocket favorites. I appreciate your help with this all. I may be 60...but I am committed to improving!
I used to be pretty healthy but then I started studying even more what I was eating. Now oatmeal, chia seeds, and avocados are staples. So are Buddha bowls, fresh veggies and fruit. I love this new journey. I feel amazing. You are what you eat after all! 😉 👋🏼Great tips!!! Xx
Ann Gayle I am the same, due to a health issue I too had to stop with any sales and raw foods, have you found any solutions? I end up cooking all foods
@@macaronipop from Wikipedia: "A Buddha bowl is a vegetarian meal, served on a single bowl or high-rimmed plate, which consists of small portions of several foods, served cold. These may include whole grains such as quinoa or brown rice, plant proteins such as chickpeas or tofu, and vegetables."
I'm watching this because my blood test revealed my normal eating habits are killing me. Im a week into healthy eating and let me tell you, my body is craving EVERYTHING processed...This is sooo hard. But I'm sticking to it and hoping it gets easier. 🙏🏻
You can do this. I'm 61, and started this maybe a little over a week ago as well. I should have kept track. But I not only knew it was something I knew I needed to do for health reasons, but I wanted to feel better. It has taken me a long time to reach this place of wanting to.....but now that I am here....I am so thankful I am. It's a mind set just like she said. Don't think about having to do it, but wanting to do it to make yourself better and stronger. You can do this. 😊 keep at it.
I am 60 and I ate like crap most of my life, I recently had a stroke because of it. I gave up bread, eggs, all prepared frozen food, no salt, I only drink water. I have minimal cheese, zero sweets except 75% dark chocolate. I spent 53.00 yesterday at Aldi on nuts, grains, vegetables, fruits, dark chocolate. I went from 235ish to 195lbs in a few months without exercise. Everyone knows how important healthy eating is. But, it really hits home when you have a health issue. PS) stick with it, the cravings do diminish!
Hi there, How are you? I am sorry to hear about your blood test results. If you do not mind me sharing; a well-planned, organic and unrefined plant-based diet (consuming edible raw plant foods where possible so as not to denature or destroy the life-forces and enzymatic activities beneficial to the human system. If disagreeing on this matter, please try planting some steamed carrots and see if they will grow; if they fail to, it is because they are 'dead' plant food that cannot fully nourish one's 'living' cells) consisting of organic fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds and whole grains is the best diet to provide mankind with ultimate health and longevity. These foods, fresh and grown in rich soil, are found all the essential vitamins, calcium, carbohydrates, fats, fibre, minerals, protein and water needed to make good blood and enjoy health. Please avoid meat alternatives that contain harmful preservatives and additives e.g vinegar, a corrosive agent. Food toxicity and nutrient deficiency (e.g white bread, white rice and white sugar) are a deadly combination as one is hindering the body's building materials needed to action healing whilst at the same time taxing the system with more toxic things, thus bringing about disease and possibly even an early death. You are such a light. I've been so depressed and stuck in this health/unhealth cycle for years. This really helped me realize a lot of my problems and gives me hope and a beautiful base to build on.
THIS is why I follow you, Dani! Smart thinking and no radical stuff to deal with. I love your last one on eating with family and loving what you eat. That is so true and doesn't hurt to do at times. THANK YOU!
It’s great that you mentioned the restriction and deprivation thoughts they are huge for me! Whenever I try to do something slightly restricting or contains too much planning I feel so suffocated and I quit really quickly.
Thank you for this video! I love that you go into the mentality of a healthy lifestyle because that's where I feel the most struggle. Addressing them in a way that's forgiving, loving, and growing is the best advice I've gotten about making a change in my life.
Thank you so much for the great advice. I've been doing baby steps to achieve a healthy diet and eating plan and now the staples in my fridge are incredible thanks to you. I LOVE grocery shopping now and opening my fridge just makes me HAPPY lol💖
I even looked at some ted talks to help me eat better and nobody was able to make such a great impact with their talks as this lady did. Everything she says makes so much sense and on top of that she provides some links for extra help. I feel like I'm in debt with her.... Thank you so much🙏
I love this so much! I get so overwhelmed and my “dieting” brain takes over! My only complaint is the amount of dishes that I have to do when I cook more lol!
You make is so easy:) I love the point about the brain and the 'all or nothing' mentality; good habits happen over time with practice, not overnight. Also, we don't need to be *on* a diet - need to strive for a healthy diet in general. Like you say, it's a lifestyle shift. It's kind of like, if I feel overwhelmed because the house is a mess. It really is easier doing a little at a time, maybe one or two rooms, rather than thinking I have to work myself to the bone to get it all sparkling top to bottom - a little at a time, until it becomes easier to keep it managed.
Thank you for doing this video. I’m not trying to lose weight just trying to eat healthier. I’ve tried the vegan diet and was always hungry. I’ve found that carbs make me feel drained. So I’m on a journey to learn what my body is telling me and what to eat so I stay full and energetic.
I did vegan for a while i just like to change it up ones a while and its important to group the foods right so that you getting lots of nutrition and protein i follow "pic up lime" for vegan very good channel
This was one of the first healthy lifestyle videos I’ve seen that has felt really realistic, or achievable! I like how you emphasised “most of the time” as we’re all human at the end of the day and it’s ok to have the odd treat! I struggled with binge eating and comfort eating all throughout my teens and I’m just starting to change my habits, I’m sure this video will help so much. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼😊 x
Thank you Dani! At 48 I am going through Menopause and just hit the 1 year mark with being diagnosed with Parkinson Disease. Both mess with...everything. I have to avoid protein at certain times due to it counter acting with my medications and causing other issues that I feel would be TMI for other viewers. I really need to focus more on my health so that I can remain active when my PD symptoms worsen. Thank you for all your great videos.
Thank you for uploading this just in time. My Day 1 of losing weight actually begins tomorrow. Perfect perfect timing. Thank you so much Dani. Very helpful with no B.S just straight to the point and achievable.
Just watched this video. It was the most helpful of all I have seen so far. My triglycerides are high and I am 35 pounds overweight. Doctor said I can eat my way back to health. I didn’t understand it but now I do. Thank you so much
You’re really knowledgeable and honest. Thanks so much for the information. I had started eating healthy, did it twice and gave up without even noticing. Went back to my addiction of heavy processed food but I am more determined than ever to start again and maintain this hopefully for the rest of my life. Subscribing ☺️
Wow, great video!!! I’ve been struggling to consistently eat healthy.. especially because I’m a picky eater and I’m so happy to have found your channel!
This was awesome and very helpful! I'm starting my journey with healthy eating and it's so hard. But this video had healthy tips and reminders to help with this journey. Thank you so much for sharing.
Wow! This is amazing! I was always stuck in the diet mentality and this really helped me out. Took notes and will definitely be adding these to my healthy eating arsenal. Thanks!
I’ve done calorie counting on and off for the past couple of years and haven’t got many results so I’m going to try and switch from calorie counting to just being conscious of what I’m eating and how much.
Love this in 3rd year ED recovery. I did it alone and now am getting passed extreeme hunger and just want balanced healthy GOOD tasting food. This is helpful!
Such practical yet said differently that struck me in a good way. I recently lost 71 pounds and am still working on my eating. Working mom of 4 with a special needs child. Added stress had me stress eating. Once I recognized that it made eating better not as hard as I made it. Also once I dumped the its convenient mentality and committed one day a week to food prep was a game changer. Thank you for all the information.
Great video! I come back to it when I'm struggling with anything and watch it again and it helps me every time. I've been so much healthier mentally and physically since i took on your approach and quit counting calories. I have way more energy to get things done and feel much happier. Thank you 🙏❤
Thank you for your kind response earlier. Am coping with medical issues plus an accident am in a lot of pain. Going to talk to my doctor next week. Oddly, I was starting to eat after med issues and favored nuts, garlic, salad greens fruits potatoes baked in m/w. Pls keep posting: I see many others but you are way more knowledgeable and you just plain resonate with me.
My favorite tip is: if your Great-grandmother doesn’t recognize what a certain food is ....Don’t eat it! Wouldn’t she be appalled at all the just add water foods, that are sold as healthy foods ?
Thank you for the information on this channel. I've been in a 12-step program for eating disorders and I went from indiscriminate eating to restricting. I'm now on an intuitive eating plan. This has brought me so much peace and freedom. I want to educate myself about nutrition and clean eating. Thank you for making this information understandable, interesting and fun!
God bless you!! 💕 Thank you so much for your wonderful advice! I've been reading about all of the chemicals and additives in our food lately and it's been scaring the hell out of me! But you seem like such a kind person, and you make this seem attainable which is really helpful!
This channel is so well rounded, so warm, and so kind. I love it, just like this video. It's professional and enticing!! This video is a big help! Don't forget guys: exercise is a big part of a healthy lifestyle!! I love light jogs, pilates, tennis, and swimming (though I'm not exactly amazing at any of them)~ what about you all?😊
Calorie and macro counting has been transformational for me. I am not limited in any way, shape of form, and know exactly what I'm eating. I've lost 20 pounds, no longer over-eat, and have learnt portion control. A lot of things I used to eat suddenly stepped into the light as not being very good. You just have to have balance. Have a takeaway every now and again, or treat yourself to days where you don't count at all.
So true with explanation at the end. I started eating healthier when my son was a year old that was 21 years ago. Since then, I have gradually transitioned over to eating a healthier diet. I look at it as a Journey because that is what it is. Not a diet but a lifestyle change that is for life, taking it one day at a time and replacing the bad foods with something healthier. Fast forward to today, 18 years later (3 years ago), I gave up processed sugars. I liked my sweets. I still enjoy sweets but I am very careful about foods that have processed sugar in the foods. I am careful to read the labels and if I see "sugar" as an ingredient, I will not buy it. I gave up sodas a long, long time ago. Water is my primary drink.
Dani, I just had a breath of hope from this post! Please don't let anyone keep you from letting people hear your hope filled information. If you had made your post cost money I would have lost the hope right away. I ask that the Lord richly bless you for giving free hope! I can not tell you in words how much your post lifted my heart this day!!! Thank you!
What a beautiful video - this is by far the most helpful, comforting and inspiring message I’ve seen on the topic of eating healthy food. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. ❤️
I just FREAKING LOVE your approach to healthy eating. Yes, yes and more yes. I just can't compliment this video or your channel enough. So glad I found it!
Thank you for a tremendously helpful video. Wife and girls (now in the twenties) all struggled with eating and eating disorders. I would say I’ve struggled with disordered eating. For the past two years I’ve been trying to get on board with intuitive eating. Your video seems 100% in line with that philosophy. It’s a huge undertaking. The all bought the workbook and the book and are very dedicated. I’m 55 and having issues with gout, plantar fasciitis, and acid reflex. I feel like they are all part of the same issue. I really could use your help. Do you do consultation work? Any suggestions?
I just started the journey now. I want to love myself more, because since I got married I have a lot of time alone. Thank you so much, this video is really helpful❤️
I love your channel Dani! So grateful for not only your delicious recipes but that you also talk so much about how to be healthy and to love yourself. Thank you!! Do you have a book out yet? Cause I would buy that in a heartbeat ! 😄
Thank you for this I started my journey and calorie counting gets overwhelming I just want to eat better and work out and not have to worry if I'm doing it wright and meeting calories this helped you are spot on felling like I'm dieting sucks counting calories sucks.
This is such a great video and the whole world should watch! I love how straight to the point this is yet covers everything so well! I appreciate you not pushing a certain way of eating onto people but rather explaining a general way to be healthy that is timeless ❤️
Excellent video. Thank you so much for this. I'm about to begin the journey to clean eating, and your tips answered many of my questions. The encouragement is very much appreciated!!
Thank you so much for this video. Just last night I had my daily bowl of golden gram cereal after dinner and I told my husband, "I feel like I need more sugar!" So today I went and dumped the grams in the garbage and I made the banana oat cookies. This is 1 thing of change today :)
This has been the best video about healthy eating. It can get so complicated about what healthy eating means, but this really puts a foundations down. Thank you.
Love your videos! Thank you for posting this. I've been overweight most of my life and have tried all the diets but never stayed consistent for too long. Do you have any advice on how to stay consistent
Its about building one habit at a time. Start so small. Work on the practice of keeping your word with yourself. Weight loss is so much about self love and care . Shift the focus from I need to change, to -> I want to really know myself and learn how to take great care of myself. xo
Great advice! I started on a health/fitness/weight loss journey just over 2 years ago, and my plan aligns with yours so well, I'm surprised I hadn't seen this video and gotten the inspiration for it lol. My first rule is to make no changes I can't live with: that means no forbidden foods, no crazy exercise plan, only setting goals that I want to be part of my life forever. I do track my calories and macros, but it's more about keeping me aware of what I eat and I focus on hitting goals for protein and produce than on limiting carbs/calories/fat. I think the hardest part of my weight loss journey has been identifying true hunger. I eat out of habit (clock says, activity goes with eating like watching tv, etc), boredom, emotion, and to procrastinate (can't do that now, time to eat!). I have issues with hypoglycemia and am really addicted to manipulating my mood with food. The most effective diet plan I ever tried was through a hospital, and the first week they set no restrictions, didn't even encourage exercise, we just had to track our eating. The form was intended to help us identify habits and triggers, as we recorded not just what and how much we ate, but when we ate it, how we were feeling/what we were thinking when we ate it, what we were doing when we ate it, and how we felt after. It was a lot of work, but it instilled thoughtful eating practices that help me to this day. The "habit" part of eating is always a struggle: we get used to eating at certain times, in certain situations, certain amounts, certain food pairings, and clean plate club. I watched a show where they showed people their normal serving of food, blindfolded them, fed them, made them wait between each bite and think about if they were full, and every participant quit long before the plate was empty. I use small plates and small portions, with the promise I can get more if I want it.
I would love to but I can't, I just can't. I'm suffering from Eating Disorder and it has affected my whole life in several negativ way. Please you guys, try always very hard to stay away from an ED: Try to solve your problems in another way besides choosing and ED to do it.
luticia Good luck on your journey. Recovery isnt an easy road but its more than worth it in the end. Surround yourself with those who love you and most importantly, love yourself most.
Don't write "I can't". You are reinforcing that position and giving it power. You can! Write it over and over again and you will. Words are powerful. They are like ingredients in a good dish. Good luck.
I have been watching your videos (and other youtubers) over the past couple of years...and everything you said is pretty much what i have learned on this journey of eating "cleaner". I'm so happy to see you post this video because it only affirms the ideas and principles I'm trying to live by. I feel better overall to understand my my body and how it works based on the lifestyle I live. I love grocery shopping now. I love to read labels and discern whether that is something I want to put in my body or not...I love buying lots of whole foods and seeing my dishes have so much "color"! Thank you for sharing your tips and recipes with us! One of my favorite channels, indeed. :) Also love seeing your kids on the videos. I hope to have a family that I can raise to eat clean as well!
Lately I have been not happy with how I eat and how my body looks, and I honestly hope I can actually be more healthy and happy with myself. Bc I try not to care what people think mostly I care about how I view myself. So hopefully I can keep going and trying to be more happy and healthy! If you read this I want to say I hope you have a nice day
Excellent tip list! i just discovered intuitive eating and listened to a talk on it by one of the authors who is very funny. She said 'you're not a bad person because you had a piece of apple pie!" and THAT is the dieter's mentality. Thanks again!
Great advice! I personally think you should stress high volume foods that are low calorie to control hunger. You can still be full and for way longer, eat delicious foods, and stay at a healthy weight easily. Example for the lasagna; replace the noodles with thin slices of sweet potatoes, use fat free cottage cheese, super lean Turkey, etc etc..
I just started eating healthier by adding 1 serving of Vegetable to every meal. I don't want to move too fast, or be overwhelmed. One step at a time is working for me! ☺

Thank you Dani! Been on this journey about 7 months. Started cardiac rehab and finished that and moved to a gym. Your tips, videos, and recipes are becoming some of my back pocket favorites. I appreciate your help with this all. I may be 60...but I am committed to improving!
Hope you’re doing well, Sandra!
This was the best beginners video on transitioning to clean eating that I’ve watched!! Thanks so much for your thorough explanations!!
Love 🖐️💓💓💓
I love this video, it also makes me feel so good, ruclips.net/video/braEQr6m2PY/видео.html
Xx
fashion chalet what's a Buddha bowl??
I have an issue with my stomach and i cannot eat salads which was my go to for weight loss. What can i do as i seem to eat too much carbs.
Can wait to get to this point !❤️
I want an update! Did it get easier!? I hope your brain didn’t trick you into a processed food relapse
Me too. I have wild cravings for food I don’t even eat but i lost 3 pounds just cleaning up my food. Im bot even active but i will try to be soon
Hi there,
How are you?

I love these kind of health advice videos you have started making lately!

Clean & Delicious Yes. Because unlike others giving superficial advices.. yours are tricks and tips that can practically be put to use.
I love it because it’s free lol. I hope I don’t sound cheap, but I love how Dani does these videos because she loves it and wants to help others.
Excellent Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Dinanlinson Natural Beauty Approach (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great exclusive product for learning what to eat to look younger minus the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend Sam got cool success with it.
Hello 👋

“What grows together, goes together”, great tip 👍🏻
this video is about more than just food, it’s about being healthy and happy! thank you for this video ❤️
Bless you, you're so smart I needed to hear this. Thank you, I'm down to 193 from 333 and still learning to 'eat healthy' I am not even close

Yes. I'm all about the baby steps. ;)
just have some wendy's 16 biggie bags and you'll be so skinny you'll barely see yourself
yup! and I agree with you!
Thanks for this! After eating clean for years I feel so much better.

Hi Evelyn how are you?
I’ve done calorie counting on and off for the past couple of years and haven’t got many results so I’m going to try and switch from calorie counting to just being conscious of what I’m eating and how much.
How did it work out?
Love this in 3rd year ED recovery. I did it alone and now am getting passed extreeme hunger and just want balanced healthy GOOD tasting food. This is helpful!
I love your channel! It's so relatable, approachable, and you make clean eating less scary and FUN! Look forward to your videos!
71 pounds! That's awesome, congrats!
Great video! I come back to it when I'm struggling with anything and watch it again and it helps me every time. I've been so much healthier mentally and physically since i took on your approach and quit counting calories. I have way more energy to get things done and feel much happier. Thank you 🙏❤
Hi Katie how are you?
Thank you for your kind response earlier. Am coping with medical issues plus an accident am in a lot of pain. Going to talk to my doctor next week. Oddly, I was starting to eat after med issues and favored nuts, garlic, salad greens fruits potatoes baked in m/w. Pls keep posting: I see many others but you are way more knowledgeable and you just plain resonate with me.
Hi Mandy how are you?
My favorite tip is: if your Great-grandmother doesn’t recognize what a certain food is ....Don’t eat it! Wouldn’t she be appalled at all the just add water foods, that are sold as healthy foods ?
Great tip! Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Quality over calories is the BEST ADVICE. That changed the game for me.
Yay!! So glad it resonated. That was a game changer for me too.
This is the best list of tips I've ever seen 💯
Hi Melaine how are you?

That's awesome!
This is the best video ever!!! Thanks for making this easy to understand. Love it!
Thanks Dani! Good timing and great message... especially about avoiding the all or nothing mentality. I am soooo guilty of this!

Hi Teresa how are you?

WOW I have struggled for a long time with my weight, you are the first video that I have seen that explains so much and makes sense, Thank you!
This is such a great video idea!! 😊 SO helpful!!
Thank you very much for your lovely words.
Don't write "I can't". You are reinforcing that position and giving it power. You can! Write it over and over again and you will. Words are powerful. They are like ingredients in a good dish. Good luck.
Been there, good luck to you.
Lots of love
I just found your channel and WOW , It's time for a binge watch. Thank you so much for these very helpful tips.
Hi Cindy how are you?

This is the best, most helpful, and healthiest information I’ve ever heard on nutrition. Thank you for all the tips and motivation! Amazing video
This inspired me and motivated me so well! Thank you so much!!!!!

Hi Joyce how are you?
THIS IS SO HELPFUL THANK YOU SUCH A BLESSING FROM GOD💛
This is a whole lifestyle change. I'm up to the challenge.
You are truly the most sincere and the most caring. I love your channel and thank you for always giving the best advice. 💜💜💜💜
Awe, thank you Lisa. Thank you for watching!

Enjoyed this video very much even after five years of your making it. Thank you for your hrlp.
