- In this video, I talk about 10 characters from the Greek Pantheon who are still alive and could potentially return. We don't know if they will return in the Kratos game or the Atreus spin-off. But I don't doubt that Santa Monica will address some of them before the series ends.

@@KaptainKubaI mean, we saw a glimpse of Artemis in God of War 1 and several references to Apollo throughout the series. Yet, they were nowhere to be seen in God of War 3. So, hopefully we get to see them if that’s the case.

Do we KNOW that Atreus doesn't know that Kratos killed his first family? Mimir seems to know and we don't see that conversation happen. Kratos tells Freya which we do see happen in ragnarok. Atreus might not know but I don't remember there being anything the says for sure that he either does or doesn't.
He only knows that his father was not always the person he is today, he talks about that with Thrudd in Helheim saying that if he could change maybe Odin too, it was not like that in the end.
Atreus DOES KNOW that Kratos killed his own father. He told him at the end of GOW 4.

If we do end up going back to Greece, perhaps Apollo could have taken up Helios's station as the new god associated with the sun. This would tie into mythology, and we if we see Artemis again, there's also a possibility of seeing Selene the goddess of the moon.
That thing about humans powering Gods would be very weird, since Kratos doesn't get weaker after Zeus kills Sparta. In fact he gets stronger after the last Spartan dies, or it would be a major retcon, since Atlas said that the battle between the Titans and Gods is what shaped the mortal realm. Not saying it can't work, or that they give a damn about "lore", but there's that.
Those souls still existed in the underworld, now there is no God keeping the souls inside they could still exist as wandering ghosts. Plus kratos had the power of Hope already so even if he wasn't being worshipped he was still getting a major buff
It was just speculation from Spartan officers. In practice we have seen that the destruction of Athens didnt weaken Athena, nor did the sinking of Atlantis diminish Poseidon.
It is established that worship through prayers and sacrifices certainly appeases the Gods, maybe it adds some power but loosing that worship isnt critical.
Good list Cuba it would be cool to see all these characters. I think the ones that I would be super excited to see come back would be Atlas and Calliope mainly due to how much of an interesting story that would make given both their history with Kratos also it wouldn’t surprise me if Kratos has lots of young Spartans running around Greece after all the fun he had in the Greek games and however many more we don’t know about
At the end of ragnarok I felt that Loki should be its new protagonist, or maybe to a spin-off; since kratos story reached a satisfying ending. I've since thought that since the gow focuses in family dynamics, it could be interesting to see Loki having a complicated relationship himself. Imagine Aphrodite having a child with Kratos , a child that grew learning bout his exploits and bloody reputation; a misunderstanding of what Kratos stands for and with his absence learned to idolize him. Or maybe the opposite . Maybe the child detests Kratos for what he did to greece, its gods and its people . He/She could be a great Rival / Villain to contrast Loki.
Yeah the Greek tragedy needs to come back it is much more impactful. All this family cumbia shit is nice but all that bloodshed kratos produced that shit usually will haunt someone forever. They can bring back the trope "once a God you are cursed" kaliopi or a kid with Aphrodite can hate kratos.
I'd like to see Egypt as the comics say that Kratos left Egypt for the Norse Realms due to how annoying Thoth was. Maybe Atreus will get along with Thoth or he'll fight Set
I'm glad you mentioned how weird GoW Typhon is compared to mythological Typhon. He's practically an eldritch horror in the original myths, with animal faces coming out of his waist, tentacles, scaly skin, horns, and sometimes his face itself will warp or change, which Rick Riordan took as inspiration for his depiction of Typhon in Percy Jackson

I am curious on if we get to see Aphrodite and maybe eos and maybe Apollo because those gods we haven’t seen in a very long time, and of course maybe maybe atriums goddess of the hunt because we technically did see her in the first game.

I think that the idea of the remaining Greek gods moving to other mythologies, such as Egypt for example, would be interesting, as Kratos or Atreus would meet them by coincidence, and they might have moved to other mythologies in order to warn them and turn them against Kratos

It would be interesting if Aphrodite had gone to Rome to become her counterpart, Venus. Venus, along with love and lust and so on, is also a goddess of war. Rome could be a fun place to tie up some loose ends if it was played out that the gods that fled Olympus were now hiding under their alternate names there.

I like the idea of returning to Greece and meeting these characters again and maybe getting some back story on what happened after Kratos left. How the reconstruction started. But I do have a theory as to how Greece was able to be rebuilt after it's cataclysmic fall. One Kratos didn't only give Hope back to humans but to the remaining gods who were still alive. Because like Athena said "They know not what to do with it." Not just indicating Humans. And how exactly did they stop all the cataclysmic destruction? The remaining gods and goddess I think had to take on new roles in order to stop the elements. Such as Triton receding the Sea back to it's original borders with the land and Apollo becoming the new Sun god. Artimas becoming the new Messenger god and so on and so forth. But one goddess decides to take things to a whole new level. Aphrodite becomes the new Queen of the Olympus. She helps in ording the surviving gods into their new roles and in order to help the human race decides that she and other goddesses would mate with human males to make many demigods. And basically make a new race of Demigods whose numbers rise in the hundreds to thousands. Think of Percy Jackson lol. And also having the other gods share knowledge with the demigods. So now they could rebuild Greece in a matter of a few decades rather than a few centuries it would take for regular humans. And this in turn would make Aphrodite the absolute ruler and the villainess for the next GOW
Artemis is more likely, she’s an absolute demon- she turned some dude into a deer and had him ripped apart by her hunting dogs simply because he saw her bathing. Aphrodite never had any offensive powers, even in the real world mythology.
@@ultraviolet540 True Artemis did do that. But think about how vein Aphrodite is as the goddess of love. She literally gets jealous of all other women who are said to be more beautiful than she is. She almost vanished because people started to worship a mortal who was said to be more beautiful than her. She can do what other gods can do, but she's more petty and less creative when it comes to punishments against others. Now think of all of Greece worshiping her as the Queen of Olympus since she helped "rebuild" and that her offsprings of demigods worshiping her. That kind of power and admiration going to her head.

I think if they go back to Greece and address the remaining gods it would make sense to have both Kratos and Atreus involved but at some point Atreus and Kratos cross paths and make interesting conversation idk maybe have Freya there as well.

I got to thinking about the humans, & the other Gods & as if out of nowhere I'm playing the game and I've just gotten out of hell by a brick and a rope. The brick and the rope 🤔(Egypt)? Here's my thought on the return of Greece, I think they'll return in the Egypt games. Due to the real life Greek influence in Egypt, in which case they'll come back as a potential conquering villains.

I don't know will it or should it even be adressed in series, but is Ares' soul being trapped in Kratos' throne room is still canon? After unlocking one of the phone number, Kratos shows that Ares' soul is being tortured in secret vault in Kratos' throne room. This could lead to so many possibilities, like Ares being freed and wander as a ghost. Also, Lahkesis and Atropos are still alive, plotting revenge on Kratos, as stated by Cory. Could this happen?
Some theories say that the last spartan is actually the atreas that inspired lokis name. Also my personal theory is when Olympus was flooded the people thrived underwater through Atlantis.. not a sea city but an underwater city with a magical dome around it

I wish remakes could expand more on greek lore and gods. Not significant changes to greek stories but just a bit more additional content.

Kratos as an Olympian God alongside Zeus etc, would be a gold mine of lore.
I feel like if calliope ever came back. She would be an antagonist likely working with athena or some other greek god to find and have her revenge on kratos, literally have her in the same position that kratos was in during the greek saga.
When you think about it, a lot that has happened to calliope also happened to kratos.
-Both were abandoned and even killed by their father(albet by accident in calliopes case, and Kratos came back to life thanks to the titans)
-Death of a loved one at their fathers hands. Lysandra in calliopes case and Deimos in Kratos case.
I honestly think the idea of calliope coming back as an antagonist who seeks to kill kratos out of revenge like kratos did with zeus would be a really nice concept in a future god of war game.
She not only could be the dark reflection of atreus and what he could have turned into if kratos had not changed, but also be an example of the continued cycle of the child killing or fighting their father.

I liked God of War Ragnarok but it felt a bit crammed. Wish their would have been a third one. It also felt less fun with all the hidden Easter eggs. I wonder if that is because they switched directors. Still loved that I got to play it and I’m grateful for all the hard work put into the game.

I have a fanfictiony idea for the next game. Basically the last 2 games were very much about Fatherhood. I think the next one should be about Brotherhood and the main Villain is a hereto unknown son of Kratos via his banging Aphrodite. This son is seeking vengeance against Kratos for what he see's is Kratos destroying Olympus and abandoning him and his mother. He's being manipulated by the Spirit of Athena and he is initially introduced as a Shadowy powerful enemy calling himself Phobos and he has the Blade of Olympus. But the Brotherhood aspect comes from Atreus side of the game in which Atreus, going by Loki, meets and unknowingly befriends his brother who, while with Atreus goes by Eros. They become good friends and eventually, about halfway through, encounter Kratos and Eros starts to struggle to handle this new friend is his brother and he is torn between being Eros, who was the son his mother loved and Phobos, the man who wants to kill Kratos. It ultimately ends with him struggling between who Kratos is now and who he was tricked into believing he was and he accidentally kills Kratos. But Kratos having grown, refuses to forsake his unknown son, forgives him and urges Atreus and Eros to take care of each other. And this builds up Athena as the villain going forward in future games with Atreus and Eros being the new main playable characters. Atreus gets his mothers Axe and Eros the Draupnir Spear. The Blades stay with Kratos, with him making his sons promise to leave them with him and never to take them up as it would curse them.
Like I said, super fanfictiony, but I think the theme of brotherhood would be a good one and Kratos ultimately dying by the hand of his son, but not letting said son suffer the grief of the accident and urging him to be better would fit well with the path Kratos has been on in the previous games.

I like the idea of Atreus find Artemis (the lady spinhx version) wounded, then treat her. In every interaction we got bonding and find out She is outer God and in mission to find her ex-lover and give a proper punishment to him for his deeds and when Atreus ask about her ex- lover, maybe he could help her.
She said, " he was God of war in our place, his is name is Kratos" Atreus got silenced. Artemis said, " You know him, do you?"

She’s presumed to be alive. I will say she is not in mythology though. There is a Theras that was a descendant of a phoenician ruler and a king of thebes. He founded an island city called Thera
Poseidon shredded her to bits without any doubt.
My personal theory is that Kratos will sneak back to Greece to see if it has truly recovered after what happened and he will find the Roman empire now in control of Greece while it's ruled by the Roman gods while the remaining Greek gods have either been killed, been given positions throughout their pantheon or just left the country to explore the world. That last one was actually speculated to have been the fate of Artemis who left Olympus as soon as she saw what was happening to Zeus. It's possible that despite not showing hostility Kratos might get into a fight with some of the Roman gods out of a sense of paranoia because of what he did to their Greek counterparts.

I would love for Aphrodite to give birth to a sibling for atreus it would be amazing if they start as rivals but eventually become a duo. Imagine playing an atreus section and you can switch between angroba or his sibling as your partner.

Typhon in GoW has a very similar background as in mythology as seen in the Novel. He challenged Olympus by himself after his brothers the Giants got all killed by Zeus.
Even tho the game itself should have made more effort to that effect instead of portraying him as just another Titan.
They could do a Greek spinoff if they resurrect Deimos and give him an og Kratos motivation
The next 3 games I think should be Atreus going to Japan or China, Kratos going to Egypt and the last both going to Greece together just my thoughts lol
Another idea for Artemis could be that she went into hiding in egyot during Kratos rampage. Like the greek gods did, when Typhon rocked up. If they decide to go to egypt next, it may be a cool reveal that Bastet is Artemis (the greeks actually explained the egypt gods that way, so it may be a nod to that).
Bastet is essentially the equivalent of Sif, she’s not similar to Artemis at all.

If Kratos lost his original magic abilities when he arrived in the Norse Realms, then if Atreus goes to Greece, he might lose his as well (perhaps including some of his transformations), forcing him to learn new magic. Although, it's safe to assume he'd still have lightning magic, which might be much more powerful than before.

Here's an idea: if Aphrodite is meant to become a...servant to the mortals, perhaps there could be a story of her birthing demi-god children who either lead or enslave the mortals; essentially "Neo-Olympus".
The next game (if not the next few games) should star Atreus (with Kratos as a supporting character)
Part of me expected to see Athena in Ragnarok being allied with Odin to give him knowledge of Kratos and possibly manipulate events yet again to kill the Norse Pantheon and have her replace them as their one true god. It also would have proven beyond any doubt that she was in fact real during the events of God of War 3 and not a manifestation of Kratos' guilt over killing her.
I'm not sure if I WANT characters from previous god of war games to return in future games.

There are a characters no one talks about its kratos previous family not just his wife and daughter but also his brother and mother the reason i say this is because we don't know what happened to them after they died we know what happened to his daughter but we don't know about his wife and brother and for his mother in god of war 3 when we get to the underworld we find different notes on the floor that belongs to tortured souls one belongs to the boat captin other belongs to calliope but more importantly one that belongs to mother who talks about her son how she failed him and how death comes to anyone come closer to here son including his wife his child and his brother and in the note she asks hades to punich her in place of her son this note clearly belongs to kratos mother and it is the first ester egg that referenced god of war ghost of sparta in god of war 3
Typhoon was told by Zeus that if he moves his wife would be killed in the gow 2 novel that’s why he wasn’t going to help like Gaia wanted

I would love to see a god of war game where we play as atreus and he has to battle one of the Greek gods, I think he should battle Artemis when he goes for the kill he stopped himself proving that he is better than his father.

How could Atlas be the last one if Typhon still exists?

There is no time for this gods appear again.. I think greek gods are not playing anymore any role in future Gow games, except Athena. We will see which way GoW will go but I don't think so they will bring back greek mythology
They could have Calliope as a trained hunter/warrior as who better to kill kratos than his daughter. Following the Greek tradition of children killing their parents and kratos being not able to kill his daughter. He could find himself in the same position, Freya was in in GOW2018 with either atreus or freya saving him.
