What I find fascinating about GOWR's time dilation is how Atreus felt only a couple of hours go by in Jotunheim, while for us the players it felt like 5 years
I would love a 2018 prequel game that addresses those 300 years between GOW III and 2018. You could have Kratos fight the Persian or Egyptian gods here (as they both predate the Norse pantheon), show how Kratos ended up in Scandinavia, who helped him there and why, how he met Faye, and his decision where he chose to live as a mortal and not a god any longer.
@@dylanrinker6831 you'd be referring to Fallen God, I imagine? He only met Thoth, iirc. But that was in a liminal space, not really Egypt. So there's still room to have him go up against the full pantheon. What those reasons may be is for Santa Monica to decide.
@@dylanrinker6831 he doesn't NOW. He did up until the end of GOW III. That is my whole point of a prequel that predates 2018, and helps show how and why Kratos' whole demeanour shifted so dramatically after GOW III. That entire game had him kill off the majority of the Olympian gods, if you recall?
5:18 If we got a Faye centred prequel game, her starting weapon could simply be the Guardian Shield itself, since it belonged to her originally before it was passed down to Kratos. Her combat with the shield could be a lot more expanded than when Kratos has it, with her potentially having a combat style somewhere between the brute force of Kratos and the speed and agility of Atreus, whilst still being her own unique approach that focuses heavily on defence, parrying and applying stun. Then, once Leviathan is made for her, that acts as her secondary weapon and gives her ranged options and maybe some move-sets that are unique to her use of the Axe, as to differentiate her from Kratos (maybe she could even do that thing that Thor does where he pulls himself towards Mjolnir to get around quickly, as her equivalent of using the Blades of Chaos to grapple to different places.) And it’d be cool if instead of Spartan Rage, her L3 + R3 ability has her using her Giant foresight in the middle of fights to foresee her opponent’s next moves and make blocking and parrying deal damage, since she knows exactly what her enemies are gonna do and can plan a counterattack ahead of time (so basically, like an automatic R3 stun grab if you parry in that state.) I have more in mind that I could go on about, but this comment has gone on long enough as it is😅, so I’ll just leave it there. But yeah, if it wasn’t obvious enough, I’d love a Faye prequel game, it’d be so cool👌.
What about the time that dealt with King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans at the Hot Gates. When Mimir mentioned the battle Kratos felt regret towards it because he didn’t died at end with other Spartans. So is Kratos technically the one Spartan that King Leonidas sends away to Sparta to inspire the council?
The problem with anything before gow 2018 is that they ended on bad terms with the original voice actor of Kratos and it would be extremely disrespectful to go back to his time and not include him
The Attack on Tyr's temple would honestly be a great final level in a Tyr spin off game (and a Faye game too) also the Trojan War game would be a solid bridge between Ascension and Chains of Olympus, maybe it could show how Kratos was able to get Athena's attention
I would like to see him in wars when he was soldier and general and as a slave to Ares and as a slave to the gods and then when he becom GOW ,if we see just one war for each ,that's 5 wars that could be a gorgeous minigames and cutscenes
For me the most interesting time gap is the ten years in which Kratos serves the gods. I know chains of olimpus is set in that period but imagine a comic with 8 other issues about hopeless Kratos serving the gods (8 because we see one in Chains of olimpus and killing ares was the last one)
One thing I dont get it is how Kratos didnt suspect of Faye being at god-like, at least a demi-god. A woman easily wielding a big magical axe is a bit suspicious unless 😅
Kratos says in Lore and Legends (i think) that gods don't experience time the same way humans do. To them is basically nothing, because they're immortal beings. But I agree he should have at least noticed that his wife barely age just like him
So, I kinda like 3 of these, but I'm not sure if I want the Illiad to basically be an entire game or a flashback chapter or what. It really depends on what they'd do with it and what style it would be. I think it'd be pretty weird if they basically made a game in the old style, a bit more hack 'n' slash with QTEs and probably sex... but it also wouldn't really feel right to tell that story in the new style given when it would happen... unless it's just a flashback chapter. Or cutscene, even. Honestly, it may work best as a comic or novel. Not that it wouldn't be fun or interesting to play... but I feel like it kinda has the most issues and would be the easiest to mess up and hardest to get right. The Faye prequel idea I mostly like, but the story of the attack on Tyr's Temple kinda feels like something we should play as him for at least some of. Maybe we could even play as Faye, Thor, and Tyr. Basically, see the perspective of both sides and even a theoretically more neutral party? (I actually don't know if the Giants were supposed to be slaughtered before or after, so Faye would be more or less against Odin depending on that. I suspect she'd side with Tyr either way, but it would be pretty interesting if she was mostly a neutral 3rd party, trying to broker peace or something, until the fight got serious and she chose her side.) Also, we could do a bit of a time skip after that, perhaps with a bit of a montage, even... I mean, she fights Thor later, with the axe, right? Had she fought him before, or not? Why did they fight that time she froze his lightning bolt? Could really recontextualize things. And we could end it with Faye meeting Kartos. Which brings us to the 3rd idea I kinda liked... following Kratos on his journey from Greece to Scandanavia. It could be really interesting in game form, or a movie. If they were going to make one, it would arguably be best animated... but even live-action... it's a pretty good option for the story... kind of. It probably has the weakest foundation for a story that might bring in new fans. I mean, we basically follow a broken man between all the major events that broke him, and what eventually helps him rebuild himself? Like, the most interesting bits are before and after that story, for non-fans, imo. But for the people who experienced those parts already? It's basically a treasure trove of new info. But like, that's not going to turn a profit if it's live-action, especially. So they'd need good writers to figure out a through line. Why should non-fans watch this? What's the key selling point? I don't even have an idea, tbh... but I'm not a writer lol. However, I think it could be a rather interesting game, especially designed a bit more like Bungie Halo or something, with "missions" and stuff that sort of happens in-between sometimes, like the flight down to find the Silent Cartographer and stuff, we skipped over like a day or more, but nobody even notices because the parts we play are so damn interesting. But for this game? With Kratos? It should be noticed, at least a bit. It should basically be designed so that each "mission" we play is another interesting bit of the journey. Perhaps even framed as Kratos telling Mimir on their journey to visit the rebuilt Greece, because at the end of Ragnarök he wanted to be Kratos The (Re)Builder instead of The Destroyer, right? And I feel like part of that has to be him going back to at least SEE Greece. And with Atreus going off on a presumably decent length journey, too... I feel like it's a pretty good time for him to do so. So basically, for the parts we don't care about as much, Kratos will say something like, "And then I walked some more." As we transition between missions. But during the missions, maybe we get Artemis hunting Kratos down as he tries to leave? Maybe we get him interacting with other Pantheons and fight other monsters... presumably we get more Athena and Higher Plane stuff and an interaction with Thoth? I'm not sure how much of the comic stuff they want to cover again... nor should they necessarily cover too much of it... but they'd probably want to at least touch on it. Idk, but I'm pretty confident in their team at this point. I think if they wanted to cover these 3 things at least, especially these latter two, they could do so rather well. Though the Faye/Tyr prequel seems like the easiest to make a game out of. So perhaps they really do turn some of it into animation or something. Or maybe they do none of it. There's still like an 80% chance I'm on board for whatever they do next.
Everything u said in that video i want it , especially the GOD OF WAR years in Olympus btw kratos was gow on Olympus before GOS at least 14 years ,gow is really the best work i ever saw just thinkig about those things and how much gow series have potential to be even better is blessing
I'm always gonna bring this up, but in God of War 2, Kratos goes back in time to kill Zues. What if the past Kratos that's being stabbed by Zues, survives as well, and is still out there somewhere in the same timeline as our new Kratos?? It would be so sick to see them meet.
It would be cool to get a game that actually covers the time period of kratos rising through the ranks of the spartan army, meeting his wife, and even some of the battles he has and some of the conflicts between him and his wife that they somewhat cover in god of war 1
I think addressing some of the Kratos' past is perfect for an Atreus game set in Greece. I don't know how to show it, and not just tell about it though. Time travel? Some "giant stuff" to see the past like you're really there? Or just style it as a flashback when Atreus reads some manuscripts or listens stories?
I wanna see something about the 3 years between gowr and gow2018, brok and kratos could bond a bit and show more of the just survival part that we don’t see since the other games are rpgs
Kratos hadn't seen Brok and Sindri since the end of 2018 though, Atreus and Sindri were still in contact, but Brok was confused when he saw how big Atreus was, and I doubt Kratos went talking to Brok without Atreus with him.
Greek verse is fleshed out yes, while the Norse one is mostly "tell, dont show". And thats just the games, in terms of written lore the Greek world building just blows the Norse out of the park. As for your point on Kratos reign as the God of War, its at very least 12 years. Thats the amount of time it took to build Deadalus Labyrinth after GoW 1. Implications are that Kratos was among the Olympians for a few decades between the death of Ares and Ghost of Sparta. The Trojan War has happened long before the events of Kratos life, just as other Greek events like the Oddysee, the Argonauts and the Labours of Hercules. Zeus and Athena both discussed and mention the Trojan War in the GoW 1 Novel. Athena's chamber has a tapestry of the history of the war.
I was basing the Trojan war setting because in God of War Ragnarok talks to Mimir about and says the he was there. I guess I should have shared it in this video lol. But your right, the novel does mention the Trojan War but this is one of those cases where the novel contradicts the games so we have to with the game
@@KaptainKuba Well, its not like the games say that the Trojan War didnt happen. As you say, in Ragnarok its even mentioned. When Zeus and Athena discussed the war on Olympus, we were with Kratos in Athens. So, ofc we dont see that Zeus/Athena discussion in form of a cutscene, thats why the Novel is there, to provide additional information and lore.
I think it would be cool to see more of the 20 years Kratos was a servant of the Olympians you can even incorporate events like the Trojan war into it.
I would like a general kratos game, like a prequel of gow ascension, before he made the pact with ares and when he was with his daughter and wife, it would be pretty refreshing too to play as a mortal kratos and we could get more of his general days
with the trojan war part i can already picture them going the route of they say it was an army of greeks but is was really just one really angry dude that was hidin in the trojan horse
As I said before, Angrboda from the future was the one responsible for bringing Kratos to Norse Mythology. The same way I think Atreus being the one who blew the horn. Time travel is still a thing in God of War and somehow I think those two events are connected. Also, couldn't Atreus come back in time to harvest his mother's soul into one of those marbels?
Would be nice if by completing Valhalla in mastery with breach of penalty and specifically with a different weapon to get a different ending, for instance doing it with the Leviathan gives you a secret ending with Faye doing the ending with the spear takes you back to Sparta somehow, but my favorite is doing it with the blades of chaos They no longer feel like a curse and they kinda change their appearance like blades of exile or blades of twilight Ehh would’ve been nice instead we got round of obliteration 😂
O' Kaptain, my Kaptain. I was having a disagreement that I hope you could settle. The tree that sits atop the travel table in Týr's temple was stated by Freya to be an artistic representation. However, the person I was talking to said that this was apparently disproved by Mimir (and possibly Rattatoskŕ). Do you know if there is any truth to what they say, because they refused to expand any more than "You are wrong, and clearly know nothing about the games". Please and thank you, love your content❤.
@@KaptainKuba I do have another idea. They can try making another book, but kratos and everything he did before landing in Midgard and before the events of God of war 2018. It would be interesting to see things through his perspective.
I have a question id really want some attention brought to, was kratos able to enter Valhalla because of Thor killing him at the start of ragnarok? Or if that didn’t happen would his deaths in Greece still allow him to enter? It’s been bugging me not knowing!
I’m just too sad about phase death and just don’t really want a whole spinoff series about her if she had to live or if Kratos finds a way to bring her back sure, I wouldn’t mind
kap i want to give you a theroy what if odin is still alive when he looked in to the green thing in his basment he had the demeiurge at the last second revive him and bring him to greece and since greece has been rebuilt the demiurge made them work with him and destroy kratos aturas finds them warderimg midgard then dies but kratos hears about so they work to kill the demirurge and becomes a hero in greece and all the realms
But why would the original Atreus die in the Trojan War, when he already died at the hands of Kratos in GOW2? You could argue he was brought back when Kratos traveled back through time and brought back the titans to that timeline, possiby dying on the battlefield fighting Zeus’ forces. Or maybe he isn’t Atreus because I think Cory said something about the original Atreus never appearing in the games or even named dropped in the greek games or something.
It's pretty unlikely they'll spend more time talking about his journey between GOW 3 and the Norse games. They covered it in the comics for this very reason.
5:16: Only according to Mimir is Odin tyrannical. From what we’ve seen he’s honestly a mostly peaceful god who keeps to himself. Not until the end when they bring destruction to his home does he fight back. Heimdall even proved everything mimir said is wrong. In Svartlfheim Odin was mean to what, 3 dwarfs? And they are the ones who started a rebellion against Odin when Mimir was the real enemy? Ragnarok needs to go.
He is tyrannical. He oppressed almost every one in the nine realms. They literally spent so much time in the last game and in this one talking about the messed up stuff he's done. He just presents himself as a nice guy but it's all a part of his ploy
Yeah I know lol I now have my computer in a pretty empty room and I forgot to get rid of the echo in audacity. By the time I noticed it was too late to change

It could be Angrboda but I lean more to theory that it was Faye. And yeah technically I think Atreus could do that to his mother's soul
I think what GOW follows the “time is relative” rule, there is no lost time only Time
Just got a psp and have order ghost of sparta and chains of olympus im very excited to play them since i have never played them before
Would be nice if by completing Valhalla in mastery with breach of penalty and specifically with a different weapon to get a different ending, for instance doing it with the Leviathan gives you a secret ending with Faye doing the ending with the spear takes you back to Sparta somehow, but my favorite is doing it with the blades of chaos They no longer feel like a curse and they kinda change their appearance like blades of exile or blades of twilight
Ehh would’ve been nice instead we got round of obliteration 😂
We need a game with Kratos and Faye
YES! I wanted a kratos game pre god of war 2 and post ghost of sparta!!!
Kratos and Archilles together would be awesome
I’d love to see a comic where we see Loki grow up and maybe make a game about him going to the shrines for týr
Atreus will probably get a spinoff game
Interesting.
I know they won’t make a god of war 2018 prequel game but do you think that they’ll make a dlc on how Kratos came to Midgard and how he meat Faye
I think they're done with DLCs for Ragnarok but I do think they'll cover that time gap in story for comic
@@KaptainKuba I do have another idea. They can try making another book, but kratos and everything he did before landing in Midgard and before the events of God of war 2018. It would be interesting to see things through his perspective.
I think that a prequel game that takes place between gow 2018 and gow 3 should start right as gow 3 ends, so we see exactly how Kratos survives
Well the issue with that would be having to replay the story of fallen god again
Sad to say he’s had the valor ability the whole time, he just mixes it with his rage to heal himself mid combat instead of after
I have a question id really want some attention brought to, was kratos able to enter Valhalla because of Thor killing him at the start of ragnarok? Or if that didn’t happen would his deaths in Greece still allow him to enter? It’s been bugging me not knowing!
Where can I read the god of war 2 novel or just the god of war novels in general
Kuba what do you think the Amazon tv show will be about ?
It is probably God of War 2018 but with some extra scenes
Would honestly prefer it took place during Fimbulwinter
About Kratos mature and whiny character development, what else?
I also think it will be the retelling of God of War 2018 with some extra scenes. Hopefully some scenes with Baldur and the sons of Thor
@@KaptainKuba essentially Scenes with Odin and Baldur in Asgard?
@@vlad_47 LMFAO dude why are you in a norse gow comment section if you don't like the games
Start of as kratos when hes a kid and being trained as a spartan and fight in all the wars up untill ARRRREEES
How good would a proton pack be against the Valkyries?
kuba you should try a game blood spear
I’m just too sad about phase death and just don’t really want a whole spinoff series about her if she had to live or if Kratos finds a way to bring her back sure, I wouldn’t mind
Letsss gooo
kap i want to give you a theroy what if odin is still alive when he looked in to the green thing in his basment he had the demeiurge at the last second revive him and bring him to greece and since greece has been rebuilt the demiurge made them work with him and destroy kratos aturas finds them warderimg midgard then dies but kratos hears about so they work to kill the demirurge and becomes a hero in greece and all the realms
That wasn't the og Atreus that was the last Spartan
It's pretty unlikely they'll spend more time talking about his journey between GOW 3 and the Norse games. They covered it in the comics for this very reason.
Nah I think they're keeping it vague in case they need to make a game in that era
No worries i gave the like because I watched the original version
I appreciate it ♥️
I'm doing my part 👍
thank you

RUclips is very JUST AWFUL AND ALWAYS TARGETING THE YOUNG CREATORS
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
He just presents himself as a nice guy but it's all a part of his ploy
yo kaptain whats up with the mic on this vid?😂
Yeah I know lol I now have my computer in a pretty empty room and I forgot to get rid of the echo in audacity. By the time I noticed it was too late to change
Where was Kratos participatimg in the Trojan war stated?
God of war Ragnnarok
Kratos vs Mike Tyson
When is the gow 2 push up challenge?
Same
Its been so long since I did the pushup one that I'll need to work on my arms again lol
But to answer your question, I'll have to see how to fit into my schedule so I can start uploading them to second channel
@@KaptainKuba take your time to recover kuba
I swear I watched this today am i trippin
Had to re-upload it because RUclips got too scared after seeing Kratos tied up in the intro of Ascension
@@KaptainKuba thought i went to the future to watch it then came back 🤣
@@zerf991 I had the same line of thoughts lol :D
Hail Kuba
No need my good sir
Damn youtube
I believe the valour rage path is connected to the Valkyries. So when freya shoot at him with her "magical" arrows and tried to use fury against her, it turned into valour instead!!!
kratos was alive during the time of the 300 spartans too
yep I made a video about it ruclips.net/video/KseQlkvXGuk/видео.html
