I feel like in standing up to his father, and changing to be a better man, let alone a better God, Thor earned his way into our hearts and minds forever
Considering he was repented of his actions at the end and his Jotun heritage Maybe he isn't directly in the Higher plane, but his soul has been saved by his Hammer Mjolnir saved him, as he actually likes him, and protects him during the first battle and even during the Bar Fight against Ingrid Maybe Mjolnir is actually Thor at the end
Welcome back fr.. Missed ur theories man. good to know u r back .. Ik ur life is busy plus u lost the drive to do more theory due to ragnarok not answering many questions of the 2018 gow but still good to hav u back yk
I was under the expression that Thor went to Valhalla. But it’s very possible that since he didn’t technically die during his battle with Kratos then he may have been sent to Helheim.
Not sure. But I’d like to see a twist on the next game. It would be cool to see Kratos on the defensive end to fight off another pantheon invading the Norse lands after Ragnarok. Could tie up some loose ends and be a unique twist in how these games usually play out. In that scenario I would like the Celtic gods to invade. Maybe this could be where Thor is brought back.
Maybe now that Kratos' forever home is in the norse lands the next game could be us travelling to another mythology to save the norse lands and then coming back
I really want Thor to be still alive whether he’s in the higher plane of existence or teleported elsewhere. I could never hate him. It’s clear that Thor has been manipulated by Odin to not think and to just destroy. He’s broken like many of Odin’s children and followers. I wanted to see Thor just beat the living crap out of Odin. Note: we can find Thrud with Mjolnir in Alfheim.
I have to add that Athena was pretty much the same kind of a-hole were at the end of GoW3 as the Olympians were throughout the game. She wanted the power of hope to rule of mortals and seemingly rebuild Greece to her desires. Athena is written as being just like Zeus, and she's just physically ascended. That's a departure for her GoW1 and 2 depictions, but it's still similar to her GoW 2018 depiction. If one is ascended to this Higher Plain of Existence, it doesn't seem to make you a better person. So, you probably don't need to be a good person to get there.
What if his soul pieces went into the hammer? He is part giant and might be susceptible to this sort of soul magic. This could explain why when Odin hits Thrud she doesn’t die, Thor protects his daughter. Just little bit of head cannon cause I’d like to see more Thor.
when you were talking about how possibly only gods of intelegence go to the higher plane i just imagined thor as a discord mod explaining random norse trivia
It would be cool if the higher plane would transcend time and Space, so that Thor could have been the one talking to Odin through the rift and ripping his eye out as revenge
I would have loved to see a Kratos Thor team up. Also hope Freya and Mimir will continue to follow Kratos to the next God of war instalment as Battle companions. 🤔 perhaps even have Freya’s two daughters in the meantime. 💕 Gersemi and Hnoss
Athena died on Mount Olympus, the highest point in the Greek world and Faye was spread at the highest point in all the Norse Realms, so maybe Faye will go there... Also the ash effect looked similar to Thor and Athena's deaths.
Kuba, do you think sindri will be able to forgive kratos and atreus? Will he be the vehicle by which the Norse saga ends, maybe involving something from the spark of the world? Sindri is incredibly talented and rightfully pissed at us for the death of brok. It makes me think he might be able to send us away for good and, in his eyes, get revenge. This could also work narratively if he separates us from atreus by making vengeance the reason for us 'losing' another child. It could be a way to force kratos into thinking about a bigger picture and thus lead into the higher plane of existence potentially. It could even force him to lash out again and bring back some of that old kratos rage in order to try and get back to midgard.
Why does everyone forget that Thor is half Giant? The particle effect used on Thor's death is the same we saw when Kratos and Atreus spread Faye's ashes, and at the end of the dream Kratos has when he is on a boat with Faye and baby Atreus. Maybe it's just the way they use to symbolize the death of a Giant.
In the first game we see Magni's body stay there, Atreus points out that he did not make his way to Valhalla because Gods find their own way to Valhalla but he did not because Odin closed the way to prevent Kratos from getting into Asgard. Perhaps this was just Thor's soul finding its way to Valhalla before it was destroyed?
Despite he is god, he is still also half-giant, so his soul could went into Light of Alfheim just like other giants like Faye or probably his mother Fjorgyn, maybe this is the reason why Thrúd was in Alfheim with Mjornir to make contact to his soul. I have also theory that after he died, his soul went into Mjornir just like one part of Fenrir’s soul went into Atreus’ knife.
Lol Athena again! Seriously tho i thought Thor was going to be resurrected in some way as the way he dissolved (died) reminded me of Atreus’ capturing of souls, the blue stuff.
I think Thor disintegrated as a result of Gungnir being a bifrost based weapon, getting bifrost on you in combat can potentially cause a large chunk of your health to be destroyed, and we never see the effects of bifrost in any other cutscene, so it may be that it’s supposed to dematerialize things, but they nerfed it in combat sections so the player wouldn’t just be killed in one hit by it.
IF this is true, I think the fact we don't see bloodthirsty Thor lends weight. It's pretty clear that Thor had been going through introspection with Sif for at least the whole game, and maybe the three years leading up to it.
What about Freyr tho? He legit give his life for everyone to escape, If he comes back in the same form Athena did then the sacrifice requirement would have to be one of the reason why a god ascends to the higher plane
When kratos look at the final mural where he is worship you can see it's the same mural where atreus cry to his death by the hand of thor. That mural his however painted over, you can see atreus but kratos death his painted over, everything is painted over exept thor. Could this tease that thor will have a positive role in kratos bean worship?
I can already see a scene in the next game where Kratos is on a Nile boat and a callback to Athena appearing on the boat in god of war 2018 except this time its Thor maybe talking to him or sharing wisdom he's learnt
I think santa monica doesn't care about the higher plane of existenz anymore. They changed their storytelling to a more simple upfront maybe fairytale like narrative. But I understand you wish to learn more about this
To me the criteria to be worthy enough for the higher realm of existence is seems less about sacrificing oneself and mostly has to do with the choice of "being better" one of the most prominent themes of the norse saga
I think when we found the last mural in 2018, it WAS depicting kratos dying in Loki’s arms, but after Kratos changed his fate by opening his heart, the prophecy was changed for Thor to die neard Thrud
Never thought of that more like fate changed since the whole point is prophecy isn’t the real thing which also makes u think that mural at the end If that was there the whole time doesn’t that mean that the mural that shows kratos dying was bs from the start So making the first mural incorrect from the start
He disintegrated just like freya from gow 2018 when she was forced back to go to midgard from alfhiem. Feels like he was teleported somewhere else rather then dying.
If that's the case, Then Freyr might have also ascended to the higher plane of existence coz Freyr also did a selfless act of protecting his sister and company and the realms. Ofcourse we didn't see him dying but wild assumption 🤷
@Kaptain Kuba can u finally address the fact that kratos breaks the fourth wall in 2018 and he is talking to Faye. And why didn't he do it again in ragnarok. I think it's because she is in the axe and those dreams he had of her were really her coming to his dream to motivate him and push him in the right direction
I have a theory that is most likely wrong, when Thor was stab by Odin, the particles look identical to the particles in the first game when Freya was teleported back to Midgard because of a curse that was made by Odin, I not suggesting that Thor was teleported, I don't know what happened to Thor.
Hugin & Munin(ripp bozo) are definitely some backup plan for Odin, They were regular ravens before Odin messed with them so they probably have their own will with a fragment of Odins soul in them, Would be cool if Hugin joined Atreus on his adventure & perhaps would be torn between resurecting his master or siding with his new friends
I wanna hear your theory about valhalla. there was a small talk post story about it but it was left in the air. nobody knows what happened to it. since odin is confirmed to not go to valhalla, does the other gods like thor, heimdall and baldur go to valhalla?
Baldur would’ve went to Valhalla but since he died after the battle he souls was commended to Helheim like in Norse myth. Heimdall likely went to Valhalla which is probably how Forseti learned Kratos killed him & passed the information along to Mist & Hrist.
Remember when Athena came back she totally changed her perspectives on life, at first she says that Zues must live so Olympus will prevail but then tells Kratos that Zues must die and essentially that Olympus must crumble. Well what if Thor's ideas change and he wants to make the giants come back so they can once again thrive. would be a cool start to a game for Atrues since he is looking for the giants and the two of them have been acquaintances before. just my idea
There are 2 more possibilities

Thor may be that giant blue figure in the background of that final mural panel... It could be him in ethereal form like Athena
"Go forth on the name of all father kratos" had me dying 😂
Cory said that gods who enter the higher plane are the ones who make selfless acts, which would be thor standing up to odin for his family and to protect them in which case he sacrficed himself for a reason other then himself. (my interpretation)
I hope thor returns in some form or another
And Odin is a wisdom God as well 🤯 They can definitely go somewhere with this 🔥
It would be cool to see Thor pop up in Kratos and Atreus conscious how Athena used to with kratos
I believe his channel is called Wizzo, he’s had this same theory for a few weeks now. Keeps popping up on my feed
I really like Thor so I hope he is in the higher plane
I definitely noticed that as well when Thor died… he had a different death than everybody else’s & it was definitely eye opening
YES!!! It begins!!!!! I’ve been waiting for something to give me hope!!
Finally! I’ve been wondering where all the lore/theory videos have been! I’ve got so many questions about the lore that I only know my Kaptian will answer lol.
I feel like in standing up to his father, and changing to be a better man, let alone a better God, Thor earned his way into our hearts and minds forever
Considering he was repented of his actions at the end and his Jotun heritage
Maybe he isn't directly in the Higher plane, but his soul has been saved by his Hammer
Mjolnir saved him, as he actually likes him, and protects him during the first battle and even during the Bar Fight against Ingrid
Maybe Mjolnir is actually Thor at the end
I love all the lore I can’t wait to see future games and how this will all conclude
ALL FATHER KRATOS THATS AMAZING MAN
I've been waiting for you to talk about this theory since the game came out !
I totally thought this about the bodies so glad someone else noticed it
Welcome back fr..
Why would other cultures gods invade?
Maybe now that Kratos' forever home is in the norse lands the next game could be us travelling to another mythology to save the norse lands and then coming back
Big fan bro, love your theories
He’s gonna come in at the last second like “miss me” and he’s gonna be our new lean mean ginger machine
when you were talking about how possibly only gods of intelegence go to the higher plane i just imagined thor as a discord mod explaining random norse trivia
We need a standalone Thor game!!! It would be great to play as Thor!!!
It would be cool if the higher plane would transcend time and Space, so that Thor could have been the one talking to Odin through the rift and ripping his eye out as revenge
Let's goooo, first of many many lore videos i hope!
I been waiting for u to make a video on this topic, no one else was talking about it
I'm slowly starting to come up with video ideas
I would have loved to see a Kratos Thor team up. Also hope Freya and Mimir will continue to follow Kratos to the next God of war instalment as Battle companions. 🤔 perhaps even have Freya’s two daughters in the meantime. 💕 Gersemi and Hnoss
Athena died on Mount Olympus, the highest point in the Greek world and Faye was spread at the highest point in all the Norse Realms, so maybe Faye will go there...
Also the ash effect looked similar to Thor and Athena's deaths.
I couldnt comment on your gmgow part 2 stream but just wanted to say pls dont stop streaming. I really enjoy your streams
"What more does Odin want!?"
"Your silence"
Thank god this wasn't wasn't another "do we go back to Greece" theory lol
Why does everyone forget that Thor is half Giant? The particle effect used on Thor's death is the same we saw when Kratos and Atreus spread Faye's ashes, and at the end of the dream Kratos has when he is on a boat with Faye and baby Atreus. Maybe it's just the way they use to symbolize the death of a Giant.
Yea and his soul likely still exists
good point, but if thor is half giant, then magni is one quarter giant, and his death didn't have the same effect
Hey Kuba I haven’t watched u in a while I love the intro
Kubaaaa back at it🔥🔥🔥
Here we go again with the theories
Thor disappearing looks a lot like Fenrir's soul going into Atreus' knife at the beginning.
If Thor really ascended to this higher plane of existence, his interactions with Athena and Thoth could be between deep and hilarious.
Thor is inside mijolnir to protect his daughter
All Father of GOW Theories returned!!
The higher color of Athena reminded me of the rift that Odin was obsessed with.
Thor was just defeated by Kratos, he was already almost dead so it probaby wasn't going to take much to finish him
IF this is true, I think the fact we don't see bloodthirsty Thor lends weight.
He totally could, but Thor is more fun to talk about 😅
He is the only one who died acc to norse mythology
That felt like the sickest opening I don't know why but it just felt like it wasn't just any opening but THE opening 👌
This makes sense with why those chose the personality they did for odin. The games can go through the pantheons and then tie it all together.
I think santa monica doesn't care about the higher plane of existenz anymore. They changed their storytelling to a more simple upfront maybe fairytale like narrative. But I understand you wish to learn more about this
Can you make a new theory on who blew the horn
To me the criteria to be worthy enough for the higher realm of existence is seems less about sacrificing oneself and mostly has to do with the choice of "being better" one of the most prominent themes of the norse saga
I don’t know if Thor went to a higher plane, but it was an absolute *travesty* that Kratos never got to wield Mjolnir.
Very interesting point. It was intriguing to see Thor pass in that fashion. Santa Monica always keeps us wondering for sure.
I hope that in the next game it's revealed that it's possible to revive thor and they succeed because thor is one of my favorite god of war characters
@text_kaptainKuba_1 Thank you
They could try and bring him back with the Lake of souls
Thor as a teammate would be dope.
So excited for your videos
I think when we found the last mural in 2018, it WAS depicting kratos dying in Loki’s arms, but after Kratos changed his fate by opening his heart, the prophecy was changed for Thor to die neard Thrud
Never thought of that more like fate changed since the whole point is prophecy isn’t the real thing which also makes u think that mural at the end If that was there the whole time doesn’t that mean that the mural that shows kratos dying was bs from the start So making the first mural incorrect from the start
Weird when u think about it lol
We have Star Wars Theory, so now all we need is God Of War theory series 🤩
Defying your own nature for the greater good seems like a more worthy requirement to me. Something a rare few were capable of.
He disintegrated just like freya from gow 2018 when she was forced back to go to midgard from alfhiem. Feels like he was teleported somewhere else rather then dying.
Now that I think about it I think he transferred his soul to the hammer
If that's the case, Then Freyr might have also ascended to the higher plane of existence coz Freyr also did a selfless act of protecting his sister and company and the realms. Ofcourse we didn't see him dying but wild assumption 🤷
Need a theory on the rift and the mask
On it

@Kaptain Kuba can u finally address the fact that kratos breaks the fourth wall in 2018 and he is talking to Faye. And why didn't he do it again in ragnarok. I think it's because she is in the axe and those dreams he had of her were really her coming to his dream to motivate him and push him in the right direction
I have a theory that is most likely wrong, when Thor was stab by Odin, the particles look identical to the particles in the first game when Freya was teleported back to Midgard because of a curse that was made by Odin, I not suggesting that Thor was teleported, I don't know what happened to Thor.
Hugin & Munin(ripp bozo) are definitely some backup plan for Odin,
They were regular ravens before Odin messed with them so they probably have their own will with a fragment of Odins soul in them,
Would be cool if Hugin joined Atreus on his adventure
& perhaps would be torn between resurecting his master or siding with his new friends
I wanna hear your theory about valhalla. there was a small talk post story about it but it was left in the air. nobody knows what happened to it. since odin is confirmed to not go to valhalla,
does the other gods like thor, heimdall and baldur go to valhalla?
Wouldn’t freyas brother be there then or did ragnarok delete him
