The one in comics (higher existence) is the real Athena. That's why she cares about Kratos and humanity.
The one from God of War 3 isn't really Athena, it's just an evil being posing as her to get on Kratos' good side.
This evil being has also taken the form of the rift in Ragnnarok and the giants animals from the comics

you can't determine 'change' - because 'change' is an abstract or a paradoxical concept by nature.
it alludes to the 'idea of change' and how that gets determined but in actuality, that gets contradicted because of nature not being able to determine actual 'change' - so with that notion within the Human Genome into bringing 'corruption' in regards to Higher Power alluding to change because of the 'Higher Power' - then you can't determine the 'change' because of Humans setting a higher power in general such as taking over lands, creating profit for the sake of profit etc.
now it's where 'Redemption' comes along, and it is a form of 'change' - since you can't determine the idea of change within someone or anything by nature considering how it's contradictory by not being able to fight 'nature' within yourself as a human being...
despite this, that doesn't mean you can't 'alter' to what's already inside of you and so for someone such as Kratos, his 'Redemption' isn't a thing to be determined with an idea of 'change' because it was always a built up thing for him that circumnavigated it's way into towards where Kratos was shaped into the circumstances that he was given and chose to abide and revel in it...

    • @godzillazfriction
      @godzillazfriction 5 месяцев назад

also, thats a very one-noted stance that you have there in regards to Kratos being apparently 'eV_I' then 'changed' - to 'GuD' - there's no proof that Kratos sacrificed himself for Humanity, also this one-noted and generic dilemma between the realms in GoW as how this video suggested is really underwhelming...
the whole dilemma of 'Good & E_iL' is stemmed from a subset of an idea that fixates on trying to give out 'meaning' onto Humanity, when in actuality goes against the very nature of what it means to be 'Human' - and instead forms a set of standards that gets objectified in truth of what a Human is supposed to be as and what it shouldn't be as...
its simply allegorical and paradoxical by nature of this subset of an idea that has garnered over Human history; primarily in the Modern Era after the 19th or 20th century especially after the WW's...
edit: 'Morality' as a concept also plays a major role of this, but i kinda forgot to intertwine with what I've elaborated.

Behemoth (mainly portrayed as giant hippopotamus) is the unconquerable male land-monster, living in an invisible desert (Duidain) east of the Garden of Eden, and Leviathan is the primeval female sea-monster (mainly portrayed as giant crocodile). This gives this comic book even more depth now, when Kratos is capable of defeating those symbols of invincibility.

What if the chaos realm now stops trying to control Kratos, since he has turned ‘good’. What if the chaos realm now starts whispering in the ear of Atreus (aka Loki)? Try to turn him to the bad side, promise false info about the giants or something. This would also be more lore accurate for his character (I personally wouldn’t call Loki bad, but I think complicated is a better word).
This would make Atreus his character a bit more complex. Also if he does turn evil, and Kratos must intervene, imagine what fireworks that would give.

Edit: I had a thought just then. If Egypt is where God of War 6 will be, then maybe that since there are two kings of the gods depicted, Amun and Ra, i was thinking maybe one king would be on the side of order, while the other would be fallen into the side of chaos. Hey Kuba, brilliant theory! , my favourite so far. I have a few other distracting questions and thoughts bear with me, Athena's death in the OG series could have been part of her plan and even her form in the higher plane of existence could be a ruse. Also are we not falsely assuming the chaos realm is evil? If I've learnt anything from this series is that things are not always what they seem. The Egyptian god Thoth and Athena may appear to have good intentions in the higher plane but again we've learnt with gods in this series, using their power to control Kratos is often more out of selfishness and self interest than a desire to help him grow and be better. Based on your theory I would expand on it by highlighting that I think the fallen god comic lends itself to these other interpretations especially considering how the series has evolved thematically and emotionally, maybe order and chaos are both necessary. Maybe both realms are essential. Maybe not. I'm curious where SM will go but I have a feeling you've touched on a lot of what the story David Jaffe originally wanted to tell or direction he wanted to go with Kratos and with this theory I think we'll see an altered form of this be explored in the next game or 2. Great stuff man!

To be honest, i always though that Athena was the true main antagonist and master-mind, behind all the events of the original trilogy.
Because if you analyzes it, Athena was always influencing and molding Kratos to her need during the games, adding that Athena showed be far more manipulative than Ares, Zeus or Gaia, to always act like a "moral compass" for Kratos, as manner to gain his trust.
Even, i dare to say that her apparent ultimate sacrifice in God of War 2 to saves Zeus, was also part of her schemes, as maybe Athena already knew that she become an Astral being after died, making that she accept this to become a "higher being", and as bonus, makes that Kratos feels guilt for accidentally causes her demise, to makes him more willing to listen her in God of War 3.
But even as Kratos noted, her sudden "change of heart", from protect Zeus to all cost, to be planning his demise, lift red flags to Kratos, making him weary from Athena, even if he was cooperating with her by the time being.
And his suspects become true, when Athena want to reclaims the Hope power for herself, leading to that Kratos spoiled her plans to deliver the Hope to the mortals instead, leaving the corrupt goddess with the empty hands, much to her chagrin.
Adding the fact that for the events of God of War (2018), Athena was still harboring a grudge in Kratos, showing that possibly her ambitions weren't caused by the Greed evil, but she was always a hungry power goddess, because the Hope power unleashed should purges the evils of Pandora Box, proving that Athena was never an innocent goddess that was corrupted, but she was always a corrupted goddess.

as always a top tier theory. you never disappoint.
coming back to the theory, if the theory turns out to be true then by the time kratos reaches the egyptian pantheon in upcoming gow games, egypt is already gonna be on the brink of desctruction since chaos has already spread there. i feel like with every passing pantheon that the games cover, the whole " plane of existence vs chaos realm " becomes more and more cemented. because the greek games only gave a hint of an higher plane of existence, the norse games introduced a rift which again indicates a different plane of existence. cory in the interviews has mentioned the existence of a whole ass universe beyond earth. so for all we know the epyptian games (assuming theyre gonna be next) will dive deeper into and potentially either show us glimpses of the higher planes or introduce demiurge/his equivalent (whatever they wanna call him).
it makes me crazy excited just thinking about it. but i feel like they aged kratos too much for the norse games so i really dont know if he will be able to play through another pantheon or two, unless the studio plans on making atreus the mc (which im not a fan of. i want the greek kratos back 😤).

You have given us a lot to think about.
First, I think there are two athenas. One is with thoth in the higher plane trying to help kratos by telling him to return home. And the second is a trick by this entity in the chaos realm. I think when the chaos athena changed the blades of athena into the blades of exile, the blades were cursed to follow the god of war. But for what purpose?
Second, chaos is an entity mentioned in Greek mythology. The one whom created the universe. What if chaos wants to unmake the universe by using kratos to cause as much chaos as he can. By killing off the main pantheons of greek, norse and Egyptian myth, it would make way for chaos to take control of creation. Ares might have been nothing but a simple pawn in its schemes. I believe that in the god of war 1 novel, Ares travelled to Egypt and attacked the gods there. He also gave kratos the blades of chaos. Was that chaos at work?
Whatever happens, kratos seems to be caught in the middle. He is the embodiment of order and chaos:
"In mythical eschatology the origin of the world is reproduced at the end of the world; that is, the process of creating order out of chaos that occurred at the beginning of time occurs again at the end of time". Google search.
Perhaps kratos is the catalyst for the end of the world and the beginning of the next. After all, he is death. The destroyer of worlds.

I like this theory! This idea of the Chaos Realm/Demiurge being in control would also address a deicide issue the Norse games have in comparison to the Greek saga.
In the Greek saga, whenever a god dies, it is this massive spectacle! Ares exploded like an atomic bomb; Athena died sending a sky beam of energy upwards; and all of the gods that died in GOW 3 led to some sort of plague or mass destruction in Greece. But in the Norse games: Baldur dies and some light snow falls (you can argue his death leads directly into Fimbulwinter, yes, but that was a gradual 3-year thing, not instant like the Greek gods -- for example, by comparison, when Poseidon died all of Greece was instantaneously flooded). When Heimdall dies, nothing happens; Thor died, dissolved, and nothing happened; Odin died and nothing happened. In the Norse saga, there is no real immediate external devastation shown from the death of those gods. This always felt like a weird omission to me that breaks canon a bit when it comes to gods being taken off the board and how that affects the world around them.
But if this were to connect to your theory, it would make a lot more sense. As the Chaos Realm was the one pulling the strings of many Olympian gods all along (maybe with most of them not even knowing it). And when those gods died it violently severed that connection/puppetry. This could explain why Ares was the one to 'create' and deliver the Blades of Chaos directly to Kratos, kicking off everything that followed.
Will be interesting to see where this all goes!

I personally find this higher plane of existence theory hilarious, mainly because there's barely any convincing evidence. There are things that correlate with each other, but correlation does not equal causation. At the moment we're looking at correlations, but we don't know whether those correlations are caused by the same thing.
For example, we know that there is a correlation between ice cream and sunburns, and if we didn't know any better, we could say ice cream causes sunburn, but we know that they correlate because both happen due to hot weather.
With this higher plane of existance theory, we don't know the cause of these correlations yet, so even if it all makes a lot of sense, it could be that they have nothing to do with each other. This green color seems to be very very convincing tho, and it would be crazy if this was just a big coincidence.
Regardless I'm all here for it, because it does make a lot of sense, and it could be something that would realistically happen. I just find it funny whenever someone talks about the higher plane of existence because it sounds like such an exxagerated word🤣
Edit: And we also gotta be very careful. Lots of people got disappointed with Ragnarok due to expecting too much. I'm all for theories, but if the games don't end up going anything like the theories, I'm fine with that.
