Zexion - Voice Compare

Comparing the Japanese and English voices of Zexion.
Akira Ishida vs. Vincent Corazza
Like with Marluxia, we have a no contest situation, with this one being even more blatant. Zexion is described as "an intellectual with no room for feelings", and yet Corazza's performance is way too emotional, with constant overemphasizing of his lines that just sound laughable. It also spoils when Zexion IS supposed to get emotional and breaks down in rage toward the end. Ishida sounds truly unhinged, whereas Corazza just sounds pissed off in a regular way. I'm sorry, but I honestly believe Corazza as Zexion to be the absolute worst English voice performance for a member of Organization XIII, and it doesn't hold a candle to Ishida, who nails it as usual.

His japanese voice actor also voice Minato Arisato/Makoto Yuki from Persona 3! Funny how both of his characters have almost the same hairstyle, covering the right eye :3

I'm taking Japanese, and I absolutely love hearing the Japanese voices because it can kind of point out to me what kind of person they are, like Zexion for example? He uses a lot of 'desu' and 'ne' which is fairly proper, if not feminine (at least it seems to me to be that way) and it's just...interesting.
Of course, coming from the mouth of a young man, it sounds cute. :P

@Synthia Seidel I think it’s also interesting to see how the localization/translation compares when bringing out his personality. He tends to speak with a scholar-like attitude and uses fancier diction. His sentence wording is less casual and more grandiose. I personally think English has a more nuanced interpretation of his character, but the Japanese is good as well.
