Thank you this has helped me quite a bit, my c720's top lid snapped off at the hinges, breaking the wires and all so I need to take it off and buy a replacement, now I can do that without taking it to a shop!
Good morning! I was wondering how do you know if it is the charge port needs replaced? My Chromebook (c720) will charge but the plug has to be in just the right spot and it does not charge consistently it more flicker charges, on for a few seconds off for a few seconds. Any ideas?
+Anne Shirley hello, if you need to hold in the DC jack in certain position - that tells that DC jack is bad. Sometimes, very rare, charger is bad (the side you plug in) but I sure it is DC jack and it would needs to be replaced. Unfortunately it is not simply unplugable. So, you would need to either resolder it and solder a new one or you can change motherboard. Have a nice day!
ChromeOS sucks really bad. These Acers suck. Right now I'm trying to install Windows 10 on one of these flimsy, insipid pieces of poo. The screen looks like crap. Look and feel is cheap. Keyboard feels cheap. Only OK for simple web browsing really. Two good things. Battery life is decent. And, because it is a cheap piece of poo, I just throw it around without a care.

I just saw your post right after I asked the same question. Thanks for asking it and the reply from regazzz.
Same problem
Hello! Could you please let me know what screwdriver I need to open the case?
Forgive me for my ignorance about computers, but if I replace the motherboard, will I lose everything I have saved on my Chromebook?
+SuperTweezy5 hello, with Chromebook, you should be fine.
Thank you.
Abhi ye model milta hai kya?
Please reply
C720 is a fairly simple laptop/Chromebook and the difference between exact models isn't huge.
@@regazzz Thank you
Can you show us how to replace the charging port?
Unsolder the current port that is on, buy a new port, solder that one on. Or just buy a whole new chip that has the ports on it
