- A suspect in a stolen vehicle was arrested after a dangerous pursuit through the streets of West Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles on Friday night.
Throughout the pursuit, the male suspect Bell Police Department officers on a wild chase as he constantly traveled on the wrong side of the road, nearly missing several cars.
The suspect sped through multiple red lights and weaved dangerously through surface streets. At one point, the man nearly crashed head-on into a car at an intersection and narrowly missed a pedestrian moments later.

I think ??? the Police need training in how to stop a vehicle in pursuit. It is so easy. In other states the police box them in very easily. They can use a fire-truck, or a trash pickup or any vehicle for that matter; here's how; One vehicle gets in front of the vehicle and two on both sides of vehicle and in the rear, you squeeze the car in to a stop. Duh, Stops innocent drivers/people from getting killed or injured. Get it? Train LAPD AND SHERIFF'S ASAP! STOP TRAFFIC JAM's. The cops are inconsiderate of the public needs to travel asap.

I used to ask this same question as well, but after talking to a CHP Officer about it I understand why they don't. It puts Law Enforcement in danger being tethered to the car. If a suspect emerges from the vehicle armed then the officers can't get away from them. Also some front wheel drive cars end up dragging the squad car further endangering the officers. Perhaps a Grappler that fowls the rear end, but detaches from the squad car is the ultimate solution?

Do you see 1:33…that car wasn’t even in the right lane to do that. He was trying to cut off the bus. I see this so often and then they cry when their insurance won’t pay them out.

Why don't officers ever get IN FRONT of these guys? They had about 20 chances. Since there is a complete train of cops behind, shouldn't they at least limit their directions by getting on the side, or in front of them?
And for that matter, why are all of the cops in a straight line?
They know that the guy is going to turn either left or right. So why not be on the two parallel streets, and try to get one step ahead of him?

I don't think having cops disregard traffic laws in multiple streets would yield a positive outcome. Could cause accidents.
My thought is they're trying to reduce collateral damage by not causing it themselves.
