Emmy you are always so pleasant, even with something disgusting. Never is it "omg this is effing disgusting" it's always "it's quite pungent, a bit reminiscent of vomit, with woody seeds. (Takes another bite)"
But she doesnt swallow licorice :D
She is very brave and polite.
Lmao
yeah she is the politest and most well mannered youtuber ever.. i lover for that lol
Fructus Dea as u type it that way it made me sick...
Poreus, translucent skin? Putrid smell and taste? 80% hard seeds? Numbing effect? Everything about this fruit says "do not eat me" 😭 Emmy is a champ.
It sounded as if she was talking about the Scottish.
BoLoYu ummm ok
Lol! Mother Nature’s way of saying “Do not eat”
and it SWEATS
Girl you are 100 percent correct!! Yucky! Lol
The thing that I love about you and your channel is that no matter how gross something is, you don't do these whole theatrical and over-dramatic reactions to things. Your knowledgeable calmness and inquisitiveness to new things is so refreshing in a sea of annoying YT click bait dramatics.
Love this comment and totally agree
Agreed, she's refreshing and engaging:)
I love the way she talks, she should be a food critic on those culinary shows
I've been watching her from the very beginning. She has always been full of wonder and delight no matter what she is doing. Other YTs could learn a lot from her.
Leaving in the bloopers sends a clear message. She is genuine and embraces life with all of it's ups and downs.
I look forward to many more years of entertainment and information from Emmy!!
The polite way she said ‘a bit fetid’ was just perfect 😂
Those literally grow EVERYWHERE where I live we usually just throw them at each other
Oh dear god...
😂
Lol thats funny
Can you please tell us where are you from?
fr! im from the caribbean/central ameica and they're all over the place. they dont smell and the juice isnt bad honestly
She’s so calming to watch at night
You ain't lyin'! The other night I was having some anxiety and couldn't fall asleep, so I decided to binge a few Emmy videos. I slept like a happy baby after that.
Yes. 😌☺️ if I have a stress headache or the beginning of a migraine, Emmy at a low volume can do wonders.
I agree. It's a nightly ritual to You Tube after 11pm. Hubby goes to sleep and I watch videos. I'm a night person, and dontdo well in the am until at least 9 am.
So true... she's my new go to, right b4 bed; problem is I binge her and end up staying up much later then I expected to. Oh, well... I love her. Gotta stick to good things/people, not too much out there, nowadays. 😑
I watch her at night xD
I love how polite you are even if you don’t like it. So open minded to different foods.
Her: *eats it without an issue*
Coyote peterson: *literally vomits into a bucket*
Got the spirit of a coyote but the stomach of a sensitive cat
@Scott Peltier his stomach is actually pretty strong. He took stings from many insects like a champ. But a noni, is too powerful
Pepe Froglington all it took was the noni to have him puke hey he’s dominated the most painful bugs ever...strange
@Scott Peltier it really is strange
She’s probably not a super taster lol
Yes that’s a real term
"tastes like vomit" takes another bite "again the flavor is not very good" gotta love it
Thank you for putting my thoughts into words so well.
Do you even have a gag reflex? Are you super human?
Stevie Marsh Oh my god. 😂 Kpop everywhere.
@@rizha7043 but she has one tho..................sorry I'll stop
@Stevie Marsh exactly what i was gonna say lol
kkh369 Korean pop music. Fairly popular over the internet, with ‘BTS’ being quite well known. And if you decide to search it up, I promise that the fans are not all insane.
kkh369 Also, the song mentioned was ‘Superhuman’ by NCT 127.
This literally looks like the alien fruits you'd see in Chowder.
💀💀💀💀
"CHOW-DAH, today we will working on a very....special recipe."
"OO OO! What's it called, Mung? Can I taste test it afterwards?"
"No, Chowdah! We'll be making a dish that's so exquisitely excruciating amongst the world of chefs that only one person has been able to stomach the very creation of it. Today, we're going to be making...TROPICAL FONDUE!"
"Tropical Fondue? But, Mung, people make fondue all the time-"
"Oh, this isn't just any fondue, Chowdah... We're going to be working with the most putrid ingredient that has befallen on this cursed land: THE PUUUUUKE FRUUUUIIIIIT!!"
Or the one piece fruits
Omg 😂😂🤣🤣🤣😭
I was just thinking this
I love her! “It’s not a pleasant taste “ *proceeds to take two more bites*
She is always so calm, I come to watch her mainly when I can’t sleep. She is calming to me.
I lived around noni for so many years and never never never had enough nerves to bite into one. You are so brave my dear. :) My aunt would put them in a jar like you did and set 'em on top of shelves and on top of her fridge. She'd make a hand full all the time and I believed it's what helped her live and enjoyed life to the fullest. When she passed at 106 drinking that stuff.
Hey Emmy! thought you might find it interesting that the reason why your tongue felt so tingly/numb is because of a digestive enzyme present in the fruit called bromelain. This enzyme is actually somewhat flesh-eating, because it breaks down and consumes the proteins it comes into contact with ( in this case, your mouth's proteins! ) causing the tingly sensation. bromelain can be found in pineapple too! you bite the fruit, the fruit bites back!
omg that's so cool, I wonder if it can actually have a long-lasting effect on you if you eat too much
Isnt Bromelain also in papaya too? That is cool!
If I eat an abundance of pineapple it does make my mouth hurt
@@josetellez1803 also kiwi :D
bromelain is a med you take here when you get your (wisdom) teeth pulled and it helps with the pain but also the swelling!
It's sounds just awful but Emmy eats it likes it's an apple and doesn't look disturbed at all 😂 imagine any other youtuber eating this fruit. "I ALMOST DIED FROM EATING CHEESE FRUIT!!!!" While Emmy's like "This is horribly pungent and totally digusting with vile seeds and taste like actual vomit" *takes three bites and continues to smile* I love Emmy 😂❤
❤️❤️❤️
One word. Exaggeration.
And click bait
I'm sure its bad...but at the same time tolarable.
I literally LOL'd at your comment!
Emmy is a brave supertaster, and appreciates lots of flavors and textures most Americans won't tolerate. I learned that Asian cultures appreciate a "slimy" food texture like natto or cooked okra.
I really appreciate how she is great at describing the experience for those of us who'd never even bother, and I've picked up some ingredient and cooking tips from her.
Toaster Strudel - Why don't you try it and see how much of an exaggeration it is? We'll await your report.
When you said your mouth felt tingly and kind of numb, I was concerned you were having an allergic reaction.
Girl, you are hard core. The minute you said a faint smell of excrement, I would have been like "nope."
y'know in my town these fruits would get too ripe and fall off the trees and noone would ever bother to pick them up yet they would cost that much overseas😂 maybe i should sell some stinky fruits to foreigners
“No one would bother to pick them up” 🤣😂
You West Indian? I was saying the same thing! These things are nasty
Same tin in Jamaica
These grow in my country Belize. I Know someone with like 6 or 7 of these trees lined up in a row in front of their house. Idk how they even can stand it... I hate that smell🤢🤢😱
Same in Colombia
It’s a zombie pine cone. Nature has ways of telling you not to eat it.
Actually it has alot of healing properties. We use it in Jamaica with cayenne pepper and lime to make health tonics and it great for a cold

My grandma has these growing in her farm. Doood these are TERRIBLE I stepped on one once and I died
Lol
Granny, I stepped in tree poop

It's gross. I could have gotten a concusion. The feeling on your shoos is disgusting. And then there are the WASPS!

My science teacher called it ass fruit lol.

@@animeweeb3228 its that funny? I wish i was entertained that easily
Miscopy 777 wtf
Dima Mironovs Is that a bad thing that a person is entertained easily? The many people who say that must have sad lives judging those who have something called “a good sense of humor” or “joy.” The sarcasm wasn’t necessary.
Dima Mironovs you must live a very boring life my friend
Emmy: It smells very pungent, it reminds me a little bit of fish sauce, it’s sometimes called the vomit fruit.
Emmy: let’s give our noni a taste! Itadakimasu.
Only you, Emmy. You are a unique personality.
Back when i used to live in Dominican Republic there was a big tree of nonis and they were actually really big compared to this but this just gave me such an emotional throwback to my childhood
This is the most reserved and mature noni tasting video I've seen. I love that you are open minded and willing to try new things. And even when things are gross, you seem to remain composed and respectful towards the people or communities for which these foods are important while still being honest about your opinions. I appreciate it and that's why I watch your videos.
Oh, so now if we don't like a fruit we're being disrespectful? Lol grow up and suck it up
Theres a difference between not liking a fruit and screaming and overreacting while tasting it
Amanda Smith those who over react and act like children when trying something they don’t like are the ones who need to grow up.
This fruit is the nastiest fruit i have ever tasted in my entire life. Please don't not try this.
Island Vibe Cooking oh my goodness yes, my grandmother took Noni juice when she was sick ( did absolutely nothing and she passed in less than three months) and it stunk like diesel fuel with diarrhea.
My dad grew these on his farm. Omg the stink. I couldn't stand it. Horrible tasting and smelling. I don't know how Emmy swallowed that.
I'll definitely never try it.
Ever.
Ah fuck it
*Tries "it"*

So, they are like Durian Fruit in a way?
Noni: Exists
Everyone’s trypophobia: 😳
It didn't bother me until you said it. Now I can only imagine botflies in the pores 🤢
Even so, the video must go on 😂
Her voice is sooo soothing and pleasant
*Durian* : I am the most *smelliest* fruit.
*Noni* : Hold my beer.

I am the m o s t s m e l l i e s t
At least durian is actually fragrant and DELICIOUS, not dead like this noni 🤣
@@mansing Yes, and the smelly part is just like onions and garlic, not vomit. I never had a durian before, but I'm sure onion-y custard is a lot better than cheesy vomit(I have tasted a noni).
Being a hairy macho he-man, I really enjoy being called a "Beautiful Lovely". I really enjoy your videos. (cat box cake is my fav)

To a great number of people your very hairy macho-ness is beautiful and lovely, Emmy just says it more.

And I question your manlyness when you said fav.
any time I don’t feel so great about myself, I watch some of Emmy’s videos because it’s never NOT nice to be called a beautiful lovely!
I absolutely love that u just dive into everything/anything ❤
Bruh here in Philippines we just step on that fruit in the ground. We actually thought it was poisonous LMAO
Lol of course

Yeah I thought this is also poisonous
You're a real trooper for trying this 😂 Mad respect ♡♡
omg i was scrolling down and i found ur comment , i love you
you are so kawai
Agreed, it took me a month just to click on this episode. Those things look like pimply larvae 🤢
She is a trooper. I would be curious how she would react from smelling bacteria/ mildew. Maybe she wouldn't react at all.
When you try your best not to describe the smell as vomit; “a but like dill pickle has that vinegary tang...a bit like a pungent cheese... and... a bit like excrement” 😂
Glory, I wish I was smart enough to use those words 😂
😂😂😂
A classy way to say it smells like vomit and shit😂😂
Lol it does have a pickley taste

I feel like such a baby after watching video's of Emmy eating something discusting. I don't ever wanna put something in my mouth that doesn't taste nice, and she does it time and time again, and doesn't even rinse with mouthwater or something to get rid of the horrible taste. I'm very impressed Emmy, you're a pleasant person to look at and hear talking 😉
Insane that a small box is $87. I’m from Hawaii and would see these fruits littered across the ground falling from trees.
supply and demand, who the heck wants to buy these things other than emmy lol

Emmy, you are something!!! I can't believe you could eat noni with such a straight face. I drink the juice but couldn't eat it at all. At least when you drink it, it can go down fast and be washed down quickly with something else to remove the taste.
*Takes a bite*
Emmy: hmmm tastes fetid, vinegary and unpleasant
*calmly takes another bite*
Emmy: yes. Can confirm. Its odoriferous nature carries through in the flavors. Stronger near the end. Not unlike vinegar mixed with blue cheese. Maybe a little salt....
*takes a third bite*
Emmy: mmmmm mmmhmmm mmhmmm yup definitely tastes vomitiferous
Omg Emmy I love your calm demeanor. So humorous yet soothing
I wish I had known that you wanted to taste this fruit. I live on St John in the US Virgin Islands and this stuff grows wild here. It is never eaten by anyone so they rot on the ground all the time. We have wild donkeys and iguanas that eat almost anything plant related but neither of them will touch the noni fruit. If you decide you want more of them to possibly torture people with, let me know and I will happily send you as much as you want for the cost of shipping. I almost choked when I heard how much you had to pay for them.
I feel you. I lived in St. Kitts (West Indies) for 3 years and I had a couple of these plants in my backyard. my dogs wouldn't even touch them! haha
At risk of smelling horrifically offensive to people, it might be a good repellant to other animals? So long as it's not close to you?
Can't you ferment it to make beer/wine?
I'll wait to see how Emmy likes her fermented juice.
They grow here in Trinidad too! I have a tree, my dog won’t even venture close by
Hi, Emmy! Can I first start by saying just how delightfully adorable the intro song was? 😂😂😂👌🏼
Side note: We don't eat the seeds. We cut it much like how you'd cut corn with a knife or apple (around the hard center). We then slice the flesh thinly and soak it in salt and water, mainly to remove some of the pungent odour and bitterness. The elders take it raw as a side dish to be eaten with rice and other dishes.
Fun fact: The Noni Tree leaves are eaten too and often used as a herbal remedy among the elders due to the wide belief of its diabetes-combating properties. We boil it with some salt for quite a long time to make sure we remove all the sap, slice them thinly and mix them with a bunch of things like coconut milk, fish (that's been boiled, de-boned and shredded), shrimps, chillies, lime, sugar, salt, onions and shallots. In Malaysia, this dish is called "Kerabu Pucuk Mengkudu". (Pucuk/poo-chook/= Shoots/Leaves, Mengkudu /mung-koo-doo/ = Noni, Kerabu /kur-ah-boo/ = Salad). You can also add the thinly sliced Noni fruit flesh into this dish too. It's perhaps best described as a South-east Asian Salad of sorts. 😊 Also, please do keep in mind that much like most traditional dishes, there are many variations of the dish.
Awesome dude, I love seeing all these cool facts lol

This is amazing!
I love reading facts like these in the comments section. New things to learn always!
Love your descriptive words while consuming this fruit 👌 I really thought you were going to throw it back up 😁 And then you went back for more
My oldest daughters name is Noni so its halarious watching this and reading the comments. I had her when I was 19 and never heard of the fruit when I named her. But since then we have bought so many Noni products including snapple with NONI juice. When she went to Hawaii a few years ago they just loved her everywhere she went. She got tons of free stuff everywhere she went there all because she is Noni. Im so glad i found this Im gonna share this with her she will get a huge kicjk out if it. Thankfully she smells loverly nothing like vomit or rotten cheese...lol😂 I just love and adore my Noni!!!❤
I drank noni juice after my spinal cord injury and it helped me while I weaned off many medications and it's been 10 year's. Thanks I love Noni maybe we're supposed to use just the juice idk but it works.
Interesting comment, wonder if it has other medicinal properties in it
I don't think I ever cared for the juice but I know they made these little Fruit Chews with Noni that I liked.

My grandmother used to sell the juice because she said it had medicinal purposes and can actually cure cancer. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but it did help my brother with a very bad gastritis that he had.
The ripe Noni looks very much like a chubby grub 🙊

Now picture this Emmy, my sister and I got some of that fruit one day but we were going out shopping. We left the fruit in her car (in 90 degree weather) and went to the mall for several hours. Can you imagine the smell?! Her car reeked for more than a week!
Emmy, since you like to venture on fruity journeys, I suggest you consider to taste Pomarrosa (Rose-apple).The fruit has a unique shape since it can be perceived as a pear combined with an apple. Pomarrosas are deep, vibrant red on the outside and pink-white on the inside. But the most interesting part is that, for some people, the fruit smells and tastes just like rose water. They are cultivated in Puerto Rico, just like noni, starfruit, among other intriguing yet tasty fruits.
Greetings from Puerto Rico. 🙏🏻🌊🌴
In Jamaica we just call those apples
Yo this girl is awesome she tries out everything and I love it much respect 💯💪
Growing up there was a Noni tree in our yard in Hawaii. It had such a bad smell, and I remember the smell when the fruits would fall on the ground and rot that smell still haunts me to this day lol. But I've never eaten the fruit we mostly used it for medicinal purposes.
we have tons of Noni trees here in Puerto Rico :) , we use it for medicinal purposes, for example, blood pressure and heart treatments... also, for soap!
What does it do for blood pressure?
I have lived in PR all my life and never seen this. What are they called in PR?

This fruit helped me with my asthma due to its medicinal effects and the knowledge of my grandmother ofc. Back home in Jamaica you put them in clear bags and the fruit drips a dark like fluid from what I remembered and the smell oh lord....not nice at all but since then my attacks has decreased by 80%
I love the detailed descriptions.

You're so much fun to watch!!
I feel so at ease when I watch Emmy I'm so relaxed right now and after watching her I just feel like everything in this world is going to be OKAY no one else can do that for me Thanks Emmy Love you And God bless
I’m from Colombia and you can find Noni here too! Very popular amongst adults and olds because of its “antioxidants”. I remember my father had a plant in his backyard and he used to make blackberry juice and mix it with the noni and then store it in the fridge and drink a glass of it every morning. They made us (my and my sister) drink it too. Truly an unpleasant fruit.
In México they’re call “Anona”.
I actually use noni in some of my products and I found the best way to use it is to dehydrated. I pulse the ripe fruit in a blender remove the seeds and put it into a dehydrator for about 12-14 hrs the bad smell actually goes away and then I grind it down. I then can put it into lotions or food and it no longer smells or tastes bad. Noni is used by many cultures for pain, swelling and a plethora of different ailments.
Tastes like bile from after u vomit. Takes another bite xD
I... I don't think I like fruits that can be described as "oozing" or "weeping." Also ones that look like giant beetle grubs.
That's just what it looks like. A fat caterpillar or a huge maggot.
